ET LOREM SHORTLISTED FOR AN INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARD: KITCHEN DESIGN OVER £100K The kitchen was designed in close conversation with its setting, oriented to make the most of the river views and the creekside where the family spend much of their time paddleboarding together. Inside, the materials echo that connection to the water, chosen and finished to reflect the ripples and gentle movement of the river beyond the glass.

Every sightline was considered to draw the outside in, creating a space that feels rooted in its surroundings. It captures what we set out to do at Et Lorem: design kitchen spaces without limits. If the project resonates with you, we would be grateful for your vote.

BOOK MATCHED OAK VENEER

VENETIAN PLASTER COOKER HOOD

PILL SHAPE BREAKFAST BAR

Each cabinet door is cut from the same length of oak, sequenced so the grain flows continuously from one panel to the next.

A sculptural, Venetian plaster hood forms the room's architectural focal point, with its soft texture, achieved with a specialist technique.

Rather than reading as individual doors, the run of tall units feels like a single, uninterrupted surface; considered craftsmanship in every detail.

Floating shelves either side keep the elevation open and light, balancing the hood's presence without closing in the space around it.

The pill-shaped worktop and curved, fluted oak leg soften the room's architectural lines, echoing the gentle movement of the water beyond the window.

It preserves the uninterrupted creek views from every seat, without blocking the sightline when entering the room.

ET LOREM’S NEXT CHAPTER

After five years, we are closing our Reading studio at the end of September - not a retreat from the region, but a reflection of how we believe kitchen design should happen.

We have never believed creativity should be confined to a showroom. Our Beaconsfield studio remains a considered place to begin, where materials, craftsmanship and the quality of our work can be experienced first-hand. For many, though, the most meaningful conversations happen elsewhere entirely: standing within the architecture itself, understanding how light moves through a room, listening to how a family lives.

Wherever we meet, we bring the studio with us. Alongside Beaconsfield, our partner locations including Home Hub and Shack offer further places to meet, while our head office and project management team, based at Winnersh Triangle, continue to provide the structure behind every project.

Our locations support our work. They never define it.

SPOTLIGHT BLENDING MODERN LUXURY WITH CLASSIC DESIGN ELEMENTS IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE THOUGHTFUL DESIGN In Gerrards Cross, Et Lorem designed a bespoke in-frame kitchen for a detached family home, blending modern luxury with classic architectural detail. Hand-painted cabinetry in a deep green hue sits alongside warm walnut accents and a full-height marble-effect splashback in soft gold and honey tones. At its heart, a generous island offers a central cook zone and relaxed dining for four, finished with brass hardware that catches the light. A kitchen shaped by how this family lives.

DESIGNED WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH BY JADE JONES “With a strong personal connection to the client, this kitchen is made truly special by our unique design concept and trademark attention to detail," says designer Jade Jones.

The client originally pictured light grey cabinets with a dark blue island. Jade suggested something different: dark shaker-style cabinetry paired with real wood accents, for a signature blend of contrast and texture. "As soon as they saw the display, they loved the new concept," Jade adds.

The finished kitchen carries that shift throughout — rich cabinetry, walnut detailing, and brass hardware with a distinct knurled finish, tying the space together into something considered and entirely tailored to the way this family lives.
