A driving force changing the lives of all

2017 was a meaningful year for Eastern Social Welfare Society with celebrating the 45th anniversary since it was established. We remember last year as being a year full of strength dedicating all our facilities and staff for the purpose of making positive changes in order to fulfill all our responsibilities and duties in diverse welfare areas as a specialized welfare organization.
All 33 organizations under our institution, both domestic and abroad, are diligently carrying out their functions and roles. We have continued to engage in activities such as helping with employment and independence of single mothers, care and medical support for children awaiting adoption, care and psychological treatment for child abuse victims, employment and social activities support for the mentally impaired, rehabilitation and special education support for mentally impaired children. The achievements over the last year are well documented in this annual report.
With our international development collaboration projects, we have continued to support Kopino children and children in poverty in the Angeles and Baguio areas of the Philippines. In addition, it has been a year of expansion with the establishment of a children’s center in Sri Lanka to support children in poverty. All the achievements in 2017 were made possible by the 14,200 donors, 6,500 volunteers, and 190 companies and organizations who have given their full assistance, as well as all of the thoughts and support. We believe that this was the driving force in changing the lives of all those clients we served.
In 2018 we will continue to provide support for the people in need so they can grow healthy and happy. We continue to uphold our pledge to dedicate ourselves under our founding philosophy of “sharing & serving” so that single mothers, the disabled and the elderly can live as proud members of our society.

From heart to heart, Beautiful change through a beautiful touch
Our volunteers did not refuse even the hardest tasks for our children who need a warm touch. They really showed what sharing is through their activities such as caring for infants, cleaning cribs, ‘making TWOGATHER handkerchief’ campaign, washing toys, washing clothes, packaging foster family’s goods etc. Their practice of generous sharing brought bright smiles to the children of Eastern Social Welfare Society.
