Community Paws is constantly working to bring our community fun and exciting events to raise valuable funds for our organization.

On February 25, we will host our first Ruff ’N Royal Drag Queen Show in Phoenix. This combination of spectacular burlesque-style entertainment and comedy performances by talented celebrity impersonators will amaze and delight you. The event will be emceed by Taneka Smith, an award-winning comedian and former Major League Baseball in-game personality. You won’t want to miss this event, but you must be at least 21 years of age to attend. More details can be found on our website, CommunityPaws.org, where you can also purchase tickets. If you can’t join us, please consider donating items for the event’s Silent Auction.

On March 18, we will offer our Community Paws’ Rattlesnake Training Course. Rattlesnakes are most active in Arizona from March through October when they venture out during the day. They can hide under shrubs, piles of debris, woodpiles and even pool noodles. In this course, proven techniques will be used to teach your dog to avoid rattlesnakes and warn you of their presence. The best part about seeing your four-legged companion master rattlesnake avoidance training is knowing how he/she will react when encountering a snake. Some dogs will retreat, some bark at a distance and others simply refuse to move forward. Understanding how your dog responds is crucial for avoiding danger. Not only could this training save your dog’s life, but it could also save yours.

For more information and to register for this course, please visit CommunityPaws.org.

If you are considering adding a furry member to your family, please consider fostering or adopting one of the pets on CommunityPaw. org. Each pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped by a veterinarian.
