On Saturday, November 11th, 2023, Boy Scout Troop 194 will be hosting the annual Veterans Day spaghetti dinner at the Marley Park Heritage Club. This heartwarming event aims to honor and express gratitude to the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces while providing an enjoyable evening for the local community. With a suggested donation of $5.00 and free admission for veterans, this event promises to be a memorable occasion for all involved.

The Marley Park Heritage Club, located at 15210 W Sweetwater Ave, Surprise, AZ 85379, will be the venue for this meaningful event. Situated at the northeast corner of Sweetwater Ave and Founders Park Blvd, the location offers a convenient and accessible space for attendees.

Festivities will commence at 5:30 pm and continue until 8:30 pm, ensuring ample time for everyone to enjoy a delicious meal.

Marley Park Clubs Marley Park is not just a neighborhood; it’s a vibrant and tight-knit community that fosters connections and camaraderie among its residents. These clubs offer a diverse range of opportunities for neighbors to come together and create lasting memories.

Marley Park boasts not one, but two lively bunco clubs that meet regularly for some friendly dicerolling excitement. On the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 11 am to 2 pm, and the 2nd Friday from September through May from 6 pm to 9 pm, residents gather at the Heritage Parlor to indulge in this popular dice game. These clubs provide a chance for neighbors to develop lasting friendships while engaging in a bit of healthy competition.

For those seeking a more relaxed and laid-back social experience, the Coffee and Conversation club is a perfect fit. Every 2nd Tuesday from 9:30 am to 11 am, members congregate at the

The Gospel First club brings together residents who share a passion for the Gospel. Every Tuesday from September through May, from 3 pm to 5 pm, the Heritage Multipurpose Room transforms into a sanctuary of soulful connections. This club encourages residents to express their faith while fostering a sense of unity and spiritual growth.

The Marley Park Philanthropy Club focuses on giving back to the community through various volunteer and fundraising initiatives. Meeting on the 2nd Wednesday from 6 pm to 8 pm in the Keeping Room, this club offers residents an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, the Ultimate Marley Park Frisbee club is a fantastic way to stay active while bonding with fellow residents. Every Sunday from 8 am to 10 am, the Heritage Park Baseball Fields become a hub of frisbee enthusiasts, showcasing their skills and engaging in friendly competition.

Turkey Trot

The annual Marley Park Turkey Trot is a highly anticipated event that takes place every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. This year, the event will be held on November 18th at 8:30 am, and it promises to be a fun and exciting way for families and friends to come together and kick off the holiday season.

The Turkey Trot is a friendly race that winds through the beautiful streets of Marley Park, ending at the November Coffee in the Park event in Founders Park at 9:00 a.m. Participants will enjoy scenic views of the surrounding parks as they run or walk the course and will be rewarded with coffee and donuts at the end of the route.

This event is open to all ages and abilities, and participants are encouraged to run, walk, or even push a stroller.

Legal Advice MAKE A WILL NOT A MISTAKE While there are many forms of estate planning documents available on line, there are just as many ways to make mistakes that could cause problems for you and your loved ones.

• Original documents are important. Financial institutions want to see original powers of attorney and Wills. When there is only a copy of the Will, the court process to probate can be double the time and cost of probating an original.

• Legal terms have specific meaning. If the term “heir” is used, when meaning “descendants,” unintended rights could be given to a spouse or sibling.

• Powers of attorney should not be contingent on you being incapacitated. Once you are found

incapacitated, you lose your legal rights to handle financial decisions. You should not have to lose your rights, when you just need help on the phone or going to the bank.

• Health care powers of attorney should cover mental health and medical health care. Avoid court intervention by having a complete health care power of attorney.

• With a trust, probate can only be avoided if assets are titled to the trust or made payable to a trust. Without a trust, probate can be avoided by utilizing beneficiary designations on accounts and a Beneficiary Deed for real estate.

Community Garage Sale The Marley Park neighborhood is buzzing with excitement as the twice-annual Community Garage Sale approaches.
