The principle of the Onyfix® Nail Correction System is to bring an involuted nail back into a natural shape through normal growth without any tension or pain, following more or less proximal application of the Onyfix® Nail Correction System using a hardened composite. Your foot care expert first prepares the nail prior to application. The Onyfix® composite is then spread on the nail and shaped correctly. After the composite has hardened, the nail correction system fixes the nail in its proximal shape without any tension.

The Onyfix® Nail Correction System ensures that this shape is retained as the nail grows naturally. When treatment has been completed successfully, your foot care expert removes the Onyfix® Nail Correction System, a process that is also pain-free.

The Onyfix® Nail Correction System consists of Onyfix® Primer, which acts as an adhesion agent, as well as Onyfix® Soft composite and Onyfix® Hard composite. Onyfix® Soft composite is suitable for small, thin and children’s nails. Onyfix® Hard composite is used for severely malformed nails, particularly on D1. In order to use the nail correction system to the best possible effect, you will need to roughen the surface of the nail, a cleaning agent to degrease the nail, cotton swabs to apply the primer, a metal spatula to shape the composite, curved cannulas for Onyfix® Soft composite, an LED blue light to polymerize the composite, and a ceramic bur or large toe nail nipper to correct or remove the nail correction system, if needed.

• Case studies of real life clients and applications to understand when/how to use the Onyfix® Nail Correction System

Practical Portion (Option: In Class or Online Live Webinar with Jacky Tattrie):

• See the application of the Onyfix® Nail Correction System up close

• Visual training for the correct usage and application of the Onyfix® Nail System

• Reiteration of the theoretical portion and practical application

Certification Portion:

• Verification of correct usage and application of the Onyfix® System by submitted quotas

Meredith Thompson

Meredith Thompson is a CIDESCO-certified Esthetician and has been active in various areas of the beauty industry for over 10 years. In addition, Meredith received the designation of Certified Podologist from the Canadian Examining Board of Health Care Practitioners in 2008, and is an enthusiastic advocate and practitioner of advanced pedicuring and preventative foot care. In 2012, Meredith returned to University, and she graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cellular, Microbial, and Molecular Biology in 2016.

Jacky Tattrie

Jacky began her career in the beauty industry in 1982. She received her Cosmetology diploma in 1984 and has continued to further her education by taking countless advanced courses; including Advanced Pedicuring, specializing in toenail reconstruction, treatment of foot conditions, and diabetic foot care. In addition, she specializes in the most current proficient techniques in Waxing, Artificial Nails and Skincare modalities. Jacky has been an instructor at The Esthetic Institute since 2014 and recently has been selected as the Department Head for TEI’s Full Esthetic Program. As she has experienced many exceptional and influential instructors, it is her commitment to pass the same experience to each one of her students.
