Auto Cad Week 9: Reviewing paper space Help!!! My paper space looks wrong!! The scale is too big??

1. The first thing you need to do is check paper size.

2. Right click on the layout 1 tab at the bottom of the page then click on ‘Page Setup Manager’.

Check the (paper) plot size here.

3. We know the paper size is correct and we also know the view port window is scaled correctly; therefor the only possibility is that the plot scale is wrong. The plot scale is the relationship between the viewport windows and the sheet of paper.

4. To change the plot scale click on the modify button.

5. Then check the plot scale

Check the scale is 1:1 in mm.

6. If the scale is set right then the paper space should be ok.

Task: Put furniture into school drawing using Array and Wipeout tools.

Array Array is an advanced copy tool that allows a more dynamic control of complex copies. There are three types of array: Rectangular, Path, Polar.

You can edit the propeties of the array object after completing steps. The tool bar below will enable you to do so.

Wipeout Wipeout – hides a selected area of an object. It has a similar effect in essence to trim but the bonus is that it is non – destructive enabling you to keep the data beneath and edit it later if need be.

I used wipeout to conceal the chairs under the table.

Divide DIV – Keyboard shortcut The divide tool cuts objects up into segments and displays them as nodes. This tool does not actually break an object into individual parts; it just locates the division so that it can be used as a geometric reference point.

Make sure ‘Node’ is on under the ‘OSNAP’ menu before dividing objects.

To bring up the ‘OSNAP’ menu - Hold control > right click > then select ‘OSNAP’ settings.
