Wrexham was granted City status in 2022. However, Wrexham town remains at its heart. A vibrant and modern city, it is also steeped in history and remains true to its roots, with echoes of its industrial past still evident today.

Wrexham is also home to the world-famous Wrexham AFC, which calls the oldest international football stadium its home. It hosts FOCUS Wales, an annual, international, multi-venue showcase music festival, which places the music industry spotlight firmly on emerging Welsh talent. There are areas of outstanding natural beauty, historic note and a UNESCO World heritage site.
