Association Questions & Answers What are the rules regarding trailers, recreational and commercial vehicles?

No commercial vehicle, camper, mobile home, motor home, house trailer, boat trailer, horse trailer, step van, or trailer of any other description that is in the possession of a resident or visitor may be parked on the street or any driveway at any time except for loading, unloading, or cleaning. This is limited to 4 hours per day maximum for any of these vehicles. Parking for these vehicles is prohibited between the hours of 7 PM and 6 AM. Is parking allowed at the clubhouse overnight?

An application can be made for a temporary Clubhouse Parking Pass by contacting management. Clubhouse parking passes are limited to three (3) times per year, 3 consecutive days each.

What are the rules for moving vehicles?

Moving vans including rental vehicles hired for the purpose of moving household goods are not permitted to park on the roadway after 10p.m or before 8a.m. If overnight parking is required, the resident may apply to Management for an Overnight Parking Pass for the Clubhouse parking lot.

Can I have a PODS “Portable Delivery Systems� in the driveway for the purposes of moving?

PODS (Portable Delivery Systems) and similar containers may be left in the driveway of the property for a period not to exceed seven (7) days from the day of the arrival; if additional time is needed Management must be notified. Residents are required to notify management in advance when a PODS container or similar will arrive at the address.

Can Auto Repair and Maintenance conducted on the property?

No major repairs to vehicles can be made outdoors or on Pembroke Falls property.

Minor repairs such as replacement of batteries, tires, and windshields are permitted.

TECH STUFF THIS CASE DEPLOYS AN AIRBAG WHEN YOU DROP YOUR PHONE! The only thing worse than selling a kidney to buy an expensive phone is dropping said expensive phone and having your heart sink as you pick it up to see a crack running across its beautiful screen. Not many people enjoy putting covers on their phones because of the added bulk. It makes much more sense to take care of your gadget than to give in to the paranoia and buy a thick case that hides your phone’s sleek design, but Philip Frenzel, an engineer at Aalen University in Germany may just have the best solution.

The Handyairbag is a relatively thin phone case that does a much better job of protecting your phone from accidental slips than most. When your phone’s in freefall, eight curled metal legs magically pop out from inside the case (think Spiderman’s spider-suit from Infinity War), curling around the front and back of your phone. They absorb impact like springs (or an airbag, like the name suggests), as your phone bounces around without ever making contact with any surface. These curled metal ‘legs’ (for the lack of a better term) can be flattened and pushed back into the slim phone case for another day, another mishap.

The Handyairbag taps into your phone’s accelerometer, knowing when it’s in freefall and triggering protective measures the minute it senses that your phone’s falling. There’s still a lot we don’t know, for example would the Handyairbag accidentally trigger in your bag if you dropped it, or in your pocket if you sat down too fast (although there are workarounds, like tapping into the proximity sensor), but I’d rather have eight strange metal legs spring out in my pocket than let anything happen to my $999 phone! At the end of the day, a slim case is a small price to pay for keeping your expensive social-media-and-selfie-machine intact!

A BOREDOM-PREVENTING BONE!

Anybody who works full-time away from home knows just how real pet-owner guilt is! It’s so tough to see those puppy dog eyes look at you sadly as you step out the door in the morning. Created with this in mind, the Wickedbone is the first ever dog bone designed to prevent dog boredom!

It can move and interact in 9 different ways, so your dog will stay engaged and entertained as it switches things up. Not only great for pets, it’s equally beneficial for pet owners who can rest assure their pet is getting the stimulation it needs even when they aren’t present.

AMERICAN MONEY REIMAGINED When traveling as an American, one of the things I’m always fascinated by (and envious of!) the complex moneys of other countries. In comparison, they’re often more artistic and daring in shape and aesthetic than the plain old US dollar. This project by Andrey Avgust explores what the future American banknote might look like.

Immediately, one notices that they have more depth and detail than current versions. More durable than paper currency, the design is made entirely of thin flexible layers of polymer. Some of its security features include unique PGP encrypted QR code and individual numbers printed by metameric inks that can be viewed under UV light. If you thought they were cool in regular light, just look at them in the dark.
