Instilling greatness starts here!

Admittedly, this is our most adorable camp.

There is nothing more rewarding for us than watching the littlest ones starting off on their first ever camp experience. Days are packed with enriching activities including musical adventures, science and nature, crafts, water play, sports, theme days and more. This is the camp they would design for themselves.

Activities Circle Time Start the day off right and get revved up for non-stop fun and adventure, complete with morning greetings, songs and stories.

Art Express Campers paint, paste, collage and more while making puppets, masks, crazy glasses and photo frames, among other imaginative creations.

Water Play A great way to cool off during the summer. With wading pools, water toys and sprinklers, campers have a blast while making a splash.

Imagination Station Campers journey to the incredible land of “make believe” with dramatic play, puppetry, storytelling and more.

Musical Adventures Campers sing and dance to the rhythm of this musical adventure.

Curiosity Club Campers discover science and nature with hands-on experiments, outdoor explorations and scientific adventures.

Fun with Sports Build self-confidence and fundamental skills through daily recreational fun such as soccer, tee-ball, parachute and more.

Turtle Time Recognizing a three year-old’s developmental needs, our Mini Camp offers a special time each day for our little ones to kick back with a book, relax and rest if needed.

FAVORITE TRADITION Mini Camp Graduation At the end of the summer, a special ceremony where campers are honored for their accomplishments, introduced to Teepee Village at Day Camp, touch the Spirit Stick for the first time, and receive the Official Mini Camp Graduation Cap and Certificate.

HIGHLIGHTS Theme Days Each week, campers enjoy special, theme-related events such as Masquerade Day, Wild and Wacky Hair Day and Silly Sock Day. Special Events Join us for special events including “Special Person” Visit Day, The Mini Camp Show and Mini Camp Graduation.

Way more than just a day at camp!

Led by a dynamic and experienced staff, camp provides a wide variety of exciting hands-on activities and pure fun for a well-rounded summer experience.

Every Day

Every Week

Daily Swim Instruction With a low camper to instructor ratio, learn basic techniques and water safety while progressing through skill levels under the guidance and supervision of our Red Cross certified instructors and lifeguards. Campers receive weekly progress reports and are recognized with awards.

Zumba® Kids Jam out to your favorite music during this action-packed, high energy dance experience! Enjoy kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® choreography.

Classes include fundamental instruction in basic dance steps, energizing movement games, and cultural awareness elements.

Sports Practice sportsmanship and teamwork while learning the fundamentals of soccer, basketball, baseball, track & field, street hockey, flag football, tee-ball, wiffle ball, and Gaga.

With fun weekly tournaments and recreational games, the action is at an all-time high!

ARTventures Through classic art projects, keepsake crafts and literature connections, campers learn the elements of art and the principles of design while discovering Master and Contemporary Artists. Projects include tie-dye t-shirts, clay creations, 3-dimensional crafts, painting, collage and more.

Science & Nature Dig into science and learn environmental stewardship through scientific investigation, cool experimentation, and outdoor exploration including gardening. Weekly themes are featured.

Creative & Performing Arts Make music, dance, sing and learn acting and improv techniques through storytelling, charades, karaoke, tribe cheers, skits and dramatic play. Produce and perform in this year’s camp shows.

Time-Honored Traditions Morning Assembly in Teepee Village gets campers energized for a fun-filled, action-packed day of activities.

Camp spirit echoes as campers sing camp songs, participate in tribe challenges, and daily announcements are shared. Values are instilled through unique traditions like the Gratitude Rock, Word of the Week and more. *Daily schedule subject to change.

Martial Arts (Grades 1–3) Learn techniques and strategies including movement, agility, form, balance, coordination, and self-defense.

Innovation Lab (Grades 2 & 3) Explore the art of design and innovation through various building challenges while learning problemsolving processes and critical thinking techniques.

Archery Skills (Grades 2 & 3) Develop archery skills while enhancing hand-eye coordination, building upper body strength and discovering the thrill of hitting the target.

Fencing (Grades 2 & 3) Learn the history, skills, strategies, and safety techniques of this exciting medieval sport including positions, footwork, attacks, and defense.

Choice Period (Grades 2 & 3) Campers get to feel the independence and ownership of their summer experience by choosing from a unique assortment of activities a few times a week.

FAVORITE TRADITION THE SPIRIT STICK Start the day off with a cheer and a challenge. During morning assembly, the Tribe that shows the most teamwork, participation and spirit wins the Spirit Stick for the day.

Highlights ACC Invitational (Grades 6+) (During the week of Aug 3) ESF is excited to host the First Annual ACC Invitational Tournament. Held exclusively for all ACC Teams, this premier event will feature campers from multiple ESF Sports Camps coming together for multi-sport games, athletic competition and camaraderie.

Bootcamp Fitness Challenge (During the week of July 20) This fun-filled, high-energy event features obstacle courses and circuits designed to enhance physical fitness, speed, agility and coordination. Take the Challenge!

Expert Guests & Clinics Local coaches and other top instructors conduct specialized clinics for improving skill sets.

Ultimate ESF Games Green vs Blue — who will be the champs this year?

Follow the clues for this highly-anticipated ESF tradition of team competitions.

ESF World League Championship Series (Grades 2+) Travel and compete in this action-packed experience. Get in the game. Win or lose, you’re sure to have a blast.

Instruction & Skill Development Proper technique, game strategy and fundamental skills, with an emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication, and leadership help to develop the total athlete.

League Games Campers play games each day to reinforce and practice the skill fundamentals that they have learned in each featured sport.

Daily Swimming Instructional swim for Grades 1-3 Recreational swim for Grades 4+ Instruction is also available twice a week, before camp at no additional cost.

Advanced Level Training (Grades 6+) Hone fundamental skills and improve performance through a higher level of athletic training with our expert coaches.

TRUE LIFE ADVENTURES (tla) Uniquely designed for all levels of experience and interest, TLAs offer a different adventure each week.

Zumba® Fitness Perhaps the most awesome dance fitness experience ever!

Enjoy high and low-intensity routines based on original Zumba® choreography as you jam out to your favorite music! Classes include fundamental instruction in basic dance steps, energizing movement games, and cultural awareness elements.

Daily Swim Cool off under the guidance and supervision of Red Cross certified instructors and lifeguards. Recreational swimming is offered daily. If campers choose to participate, they receive an initial deep water safety test to assess their skill level.

Optional swimming instruction is also offered 2 days per week, before camp at no extra charge. Progress reports offered upon request.

Art 360° Through classic art projects and keepsake crafts learn the elements of art and the principles of design while discovering various Master and Contemporary Artists! Experiences include tie-dying, clay creations, 3-dimensional crafts, weaving projects, painting in the style of the Masters, collage and more.

Sports Soccer, street hockey, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, flag football, Ultimate Frisbee, and Gaga. Fun tournaments and recreational games are featured each week.

Senior Quest Collaborate, communicate and problem-solve during high-energy challenges, fun team initiatives and service learning projects.

If you like 3D-based games and intriguing adventures, then this camp is for you!

Portal 2 is a first-person, puzzle-platform style video game that challenges you to use your wits to solve complex problems. In this intermediate and advanced-level camp, use 3D game design software and Portal 2 to create your own intricate puzzles, traps and mazes. Parents and friends are invited on the last day to take an adventurous journey through your creations! All skill levels are welcome.

Digital Animation (Grades 4-10) 2 weeks

Put your creativity into motion as you master fundamental animation principles while learning vector art design, digital animation techniques and how to animate your own creations. Calling all future game developers! Bring your video game ideas to life as you learn the ins-and-outs of how video games are designed and produced during this two week program. During week one, learn how to use a number of software design tools to create platform-style video games. In the second week, work with Pixel Press software to design and build more complex game levels. Highlights of this program include informational lectures, as well as the use of a hands-on game design lab where campers design, customize, construct and test their creations. For the grand finale, compete against other teams in predefined challenges at the R-BOTX Convention on the last day where friends and family are invited to attend. Use Minecraft to learn how to design, build and explore 3D game adventures. During the first week of camp, receive instruction in game design, mod installation, and a primer on Redstone circuits. In the second week, use your creativity and fine-tune your problem-solving skills, as you navigate the various construction challenges and work with Vanilla Minecraft, Tekkit and Minecraft EDU. In this exciting camp, learn about the physics of roller coasters while exploring kinetic and potential energy, and centripetal force.

At camp you’ll build and test, physical and “virtual” roller coaster models. Using various computer programs, including Minecraft, you’ll create virtual roller coasters and build scale models with K’NEX. Turns, loops and drops.... family and friends are invited to go on a “virtual ride” on the last day. No prior experience is necessary!

Experience the wonderful world of Pocket Edition Minecraft. Build your own virtual reality in a sandbox-like environment by using iPads to challenge your mind and create your own adventures.

Science Majors Animal Advocates: Great Gorillas (Grades 3-9) 2 weeks – In collaboration with the Philadelphia Zoo Take action and think critically about real-world issues that impact gorillas and other wildlife species across the globe. Work side by side with experienced Zoo educators and enjoy up-close and personal wildlife encounters with live animals at camp.

Help safeguard gorillas and reduce deforestation by forming advocacy teams and developing community action plans. Highlights include an overnight at The Philadelphia Zoo, a meet and greet with the Great Gorillas keeper, a tour of the new gorilla trail system, Skype sessions with conservation experts and more! Present your final advocacy campaign to family, friends, and Zoo representatives on the last day!

CSI Forensics (Grades 4-9) 2 weeks Learn from expert CSI investigators about fingerprinting, forensic photography, casting, splatter analysis, ballistics and more. Unravel clues at an ESF “Mock” Crime Scene through collection and preservation of physical evidence, crime scene reconstruction, surveillance, detailed reports, and eyewitness interviews. Includes a field trip to The Criminal Justice Center in Philadelphia where a real-life judge will preside over a “Mock” Trial at which you will present your findings. Family and friends are invited to a simulated Crime Lab on the last day.

Dream it, Build it, Destroy it (Grades 5-8) 1 week – Exclusive partnership with The Franklin Institute Let your creative juices flow this week as we use engineering, physics, and most of all, imagination, to plan, build and destroy creations of our own. From beginners to the tournament-bound, under the guidance of experts, ESF Tennis Camp instills confidence for winning on and off the court.

3 LEVELS OF PLAY Learn the Basics For the beginner player, learn the fundamentals of the game: proper grip, racquet preparation, forehand, backhand, volley, serve, return of serve, overhead, footwork, and basic scoring. Campers feel comfortable and confident on the court while experiencing steady improvement.

Refine Your Strokes For the intermediate player, develop and refine basic strokes with a focus on consistency, footwork, shot selection, and strategy. Campers further develop first and second serves, approach shots, and net game through instruction and match play.

Swimming at ESF We develop swimmers utilizing the latest teaching techniques and coaching methods. Beginning with water safety skills and basic fundamentals, we then move on to progressive stroke development and refinement of techniques. Our well-established program is designed to be compatible with the unique and ever-changing abilities and skill levels of each camper. ESF also offers private swim instruction to campers who are interested in devoting more time to enhancing their skills. Swim Levels ESF has established skill levels that campers progress through at their own pace.

There are three great ways to extend your camp day. Enjoy a variety of specialty clinics and workshops. Attend Club OT, our flexible, before and aftercare program. Enroll in private and semiprivate enrichment lessons in swimming, sports, or academic tutoring. Try one or try them all!

Club OT On a regular or a drop-in basis, start the day as early as 7:30am and stay as late as 6pm. Club OT campers are divided into groups by age and enjoy sports, games, crafts, chess, book club, drama and much more. Afternoon snacks and refreshments provided. Flexible scheduling with no pre-payment or pre-registration required. Billing is done twice a month by mail.

Application Process

Carpool Information If you’d like to organize your own car pool, please check the appropriate box on the application. In May, interested parents will receive a contact list of other families in their town who are also interested in carpooling.

Complete both sides of the application, sign the back, and return with a $300 deposit per camper. Once we receive and review your application, a confirmation/invoice will be mailed to verify your reservation(s). Balance is due by April 1, 2015. All applications sent after April 1, 2015 require full payment.

Camp T-Shirt All campers will receive an official camp t-shirt. Please circle your child’s shirt size on the attached application.

Optional Lunch Program Campers may bring their lunch and drink to camp which we refrigerate, or they can participate in our lunch program for an additional cost of $37.50/week. To sign up, please check the appropriate box on the application.

Refreshments & Snacks Campers are provided with a snack and beverage each day. Water coolers and fountains are easily accessible to campers throughout the day.

Camp Orientation All important camp-related materials will be distributed at Camp Orientation which will take place in late May or early June.

Your attendance is highly recommended to help make your child’s transition into camp as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Orientation dates and times will be mailed in May.

Camp Tours If you and your child would like to meet with us or have a tour of our camp facilities, please call us anytime at 610.581.7100.

Cancellations & Changes All cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by April 1, 2015, and are subject to a $50 processing fee per child. No refunds after April 1, 2015. No refunds for late arrival, early dismissal, vacations, illness, or injury.

Changes in enrolled weeks are based upon availability and must be made on or before April 1, 2015.

Optional Lunch Program Campers may bring their own lunch & beverage to camp (which we refrigerate), or they may participate in our optional lunch program for an additional $37.50 per week by checking the appropriate box above.

Cancellations & Changes deadline: APRIL 1, 2015 If you need to cancel your child’s enrollment in camp, you must notify us in writing by April 1, 2015 in order to receive a refund.

Cancellations on or prior to this date are subject to a $50 processing fee per child. No refunds will be given out after April 1, 2015 regardless of your registration date. Changes in enrolled weeks are based on availability and must also be made on or before the April 1, 2015 deadline.

Grouping Requests Campers are grouped according to age and grade level. If you would like your child grouped with a specific friend, please write his/ her name and home phone number on this application. Campers MUST be entering the same grade next fall.

please read and sign below: On behalf of my child, I accept any and all risks associated with his/her attendance and participation in the camp and its activities. I understand that my child should not attend the camp if he/she is not healthy. I understand that my child must abide by camp policies and the instructions of the camp staff. I agree that should my child be dismissed from camp for any reason, no part of my tuition will be refunded. I understand that no reduction in the tuition will be made for late arrival, early departure, vacations, illness or injury. In the event that I cannot be contacted in an emergency, I hereby grant ESF, Inc. (ESF) permission to give immediate treatment and/or take my child to a hospital emergency room. Permission is hereby granted for photographs and/or videos to be taken of my child at camp and ESF has the right to utilize these in our brochures, videos, slide shows, web site, and other camp materials. Permission is also granted for my child (if enrolled in Sports Camp, Senior Camp, and/or Major Camps) to attend all scheduled field trips. Knowing these facts and in consideration for your accepting my child’s application, I, for myself, my child attending the camp, and anyone else who might claim on my or my child’s behalf (“I”), hereby agree that neither ESF, The Haverford School, nor Friends School Haverford are responsible for any and all accidents, injuries, and/or medical or dental expenses arising from my child’s participation in the camp and, accordingly, I covenant not to sue, and waive, release and discharge ESF, The Haverford School, and Friends School Haverford and anyone, and anyone working on their behalf from any and all claims of liability or expenses of any kind or nature whatsoever arising out of or relating to my child’s participation in the camp. Flexibility & Multi-Week Savings

Save 5% on each child’s tuition after the first enrolled child in your family. This 5% discount applies to each child after the first in your immediate family. (The first child is the camper with the higher tuition.)

Tell friends about camp, send 3 or more applications in the same envelope or enroll online the same day, and receive a 5% savings on each camper’s tuition.

We offer program mixing and flexible scheduling with 1-9 week options. Your weeks do not need to be consecutive. Enroll for 6 weeks or more for reduced weekly rates.
