Instilling greatness starts here!

Admittedly, this is our most adorable camp.

There is nothing more rewarding for us than watching the littlest ones starting off on their first ever camp experience. Days are packed with enriching activities including musical adventures, science and nature, crafts, water play, sports, theme days and more. This is the camp they would design for themselves.

Activities Circle Time Start the day off right and get revved up for non-stop fun and adventure, complete with morning greetings, songs and stories.

Art Express Campers paint, paste, collage and more while making puppets, masks, crazy glasses and photo frames, among other imaginative creations.

Water Play A great way to cool off during the summer. With wading pools, water toys and sprinklers, campers have a blast while making a splash.

Imagination Station Campers journey to the incredible land of “make believe” with dramatic play, puppetry, storytelling and more.

Musical Adventures Campers sing and dance to the rhythm of this musical adventure.

Curiosity Club Campers discover science and nature with hands-on experiments, outdoor explorations and scientific adventures.

Fun with Sports Build self-confidence and fundamental skills through daily recreational fun such as soccer, tee-ball, parachute and more.

FAVORITE TRADITION Mini Camp Graduation At the end of the summer, a special ceremony where campers are honored for their accomplishments, introduced to Teepee Village at Day Camp, touch the Spirit Stick for the first time, and receive the Official Mini Camp Graduation Cap and Certificate.

HIGHLIGHTS Theme Days Each week, campers enjoy special, theme-related events such as Masquerade Day, Wild and Wacky Hair Day and Silly Sock Day. Special Events Join us for special events including “Special Person” Visit Day, The Mini Camp Show and Mini Camp Graduation.

Every Week

Daily Swim Instruction With a low camper to instructor ratio, learn basic techniques and water safety while progressing through skill levels under the guidance and supervision of our Red Cross certified instructors and lifeguards. Campers receive weekly progress reports and are recognized with awards.

Campers on the Move This energizing combination of movement, dance, yoga and FUN creates an action-packed, fitness experience for campers.

Sports Practice sportsmanship and teamwork while learning the fundamentals of soccer, basketball, baseball, track & field, street hockey, flag football, tee-ball, wiffle ball, and Gaga.

With fun weekly tournaments and recreational games, the action is at an all-time high!

ARTventures Through classic art projects, keepsake crafts and literature connections, campers learn the elements of art and the principles of design while discovering Master and Contemporary Artists. Projects include tie-dye t-shirts, clay creations, 3-dimensional crafts, painting, collage and more.

Project Discovery Discover the world of science! Learn problem-solving processes and critical thinking techniques through scientific investigation, cool experimentation, and inventors’ workshops. Become an environmental steward through nature studies, outdoor exploration, gardening and more. Weekly themes are featured.

Creative & Performing Arts Make music, dance, sing and learn acting and improv techniques through storytelling, charades, karaoke, tribe cheers, skits and dramatic play. Produce and perform in this year’s camp shows.

Time-Honored Traditions Morning Assembly in Teepee Village gets campers energized for a fun-filled, action-packed day of activities.

Bootcamp Fitness Challenge (During the week of July 20) This fun-filled, high-energy event features obstacle courses and circuits designed to enhance physical fitness, speed, agility and coordination. Take the Challenge!

Instruction & Skill Development Proper technique, game strategy and fundamental skills, with an emphasis on sportsmanship, teamwork, dedication, and leadership help to develop the total athlete.

League Games Campers play games each day to reinforce and practice the skill fundamentals that they have learned in each featured sport.

Daily Swimming Instructional swim for Grade 1 Recreational swim for Grades 2+ Instruction is also available twice a week, before camp at no additional cost.

TRUE LIFE ADVENTURES (tla) Uniquely designed for all levels of experience and interest, TLAs offer a different adventure each week.

Surge Fitness Get stronger and gain self-confidence through an energizing combination of aerobic exercise, dance, and yoga!

Daily Swim Cool off under the guidance and supervision of Red Cross certified instructors and lifeguards. Recreational swimming is offered daily. Optional swimming instruction is also offered 2 days per week, before camp at no extra charge. Progress reports offered upon request.

Space Quest (Rocketry) 1 week Learn the laws of motion and the physics of rocket flight. Construct your own pressurized water rocket and countdown to lift-off at the annual ESF Rocket Launch.

Carnival, Circus, Magic 1 week Design, build, and host the annual ESF Camp Carnival, one of our most-anticipated traditions. Learn juggling, clowning and sleight of hand magic tricks.

Digital Photography 1 week Capture camp through a lens and showcase your favorite photographs at The ESF Gallery Exhibition!

Discover the works of famous master photographers, explore different styles of photography, and learn digital camera functionality.

Outdoor Adventure (Rockwall) 1 week Conquer a towering Rockwall with challenges designed for each skill level, under the watchful eye of an experienced instructor. This journey will lead you down the road of self-discovery, as you participate in teambuilding initiatives, collaborative problem-solving activities and exercises designed to develop and enhance the leader in you!

CSI Forensics 1 week Learn from expert CSI investigators about fingerprinting, forensic photography, casting, spatter analysis, ballistics and more. On the last day, unravel clues at a simulated Mock Crime Scene, through collection and preservation of physical evidence, crime scene reconstruction, surveillance, detailed reports, and witness interviews.

Breakdancing & Hip-Hop 1 week Learn with step-by-step professional instruction. Develop style and skills with a focus on footwork and coordination. Perform in informal competitions and at the final ESF Dance Party.

Musical Theater: Princess Whatsername 2 weeks With a classic fairy-tale setting, loads of exciting and hilarious roles, a variety of entertaining musical numbers and a plot filled with mystery and adventure, this Show has it all!

Learn everything from the fine art of stage performance to the behindthe-scenes basics of a theatrical production! A rockin’ musical score adds to the fun, as you prepare to dazzle family and friends at the premier performance of this musical!

Songwriting & Music Production 1 week Explore music fundamentals and enjoy daily “jam sessions” with a professional producer. Compose and record your own hit songs with hightech, multi-media technology using the Garage Band app on an iPad. For the grand finale, perform at the annual ESF Music Awards.

A Tech-Savvy Summer Technology Majors 3D Game Design with Portal 2 (Grades 6-10) 1 week If you like 3D-based games and intriguing adventures, then this camp is for you! Portal 2 is a first-person, puzzle-platform style video game that challenges you to use your wits to solve complex problems. In this intermediate and advanced-level camp, use 3D game design software and Portal 2 to create your own intricate puzzles, traps and mazes. Parents and friends are invited on the last day to take an adventurous journey through your creations!

All skill levels are welcome.

Game Design 101 (Grades 4-10) 2 weeks

Calling all future game developers! Bring your video game ideas to life as you learn the ins-and-outs of how video games are designed and produced during this two week program. During week one, learn how to use a number of software design tools to create platform-style video games. In the second week, work with Pixel Press software to design and build more complex game levels. Highlights of this program include informational lectures, as well as the use of a hands-on game design lab where campers design, customize, construct and test their creations. Showcase your games to friends and family on the last day! Recommended for introductory and intermediate level campers.

Game Design with Project Spark (Grades 5-10) 1 week

Discover the world’s next best gaming experience… or create it yourself! Microsoft’s Project Spark is an open world game engine that provides campers with a digital canvas where they can make games, movies and other experiences. This playground of creativity provides endless options to build and customize complex worlds and experiences from the ground up! Camp focuses on designing games in a rich 3D environment and also provides an introduction to Brains and Kodu programming. Amaze your family and friends with a display of your imaginative game creations on the last day. All skill levels are welcome.

Introduction to 3D Printing (Grades 4-10) 1 week

Dream it. Create it. Prototype it! Discover cutting-edge technology as you learn and navigate 3D design software. Work together as a team of innovators to engineer cool three-dimensional objects. Accelerate your design process as you print prototypes of your creations using a three-dimensional printer. Amaze your family and friends with a display of your industrial designs and prototypes on the last day. No prior experience is necessary!

Minecraft for Kids (Grades 2-4) 1 week

Experience the wonderful world of Pocket Edition Minecraft. Build your own virtual reality in a sandbox-like environment by using iPads to challenge your mind and create your own adventures.

This fun and engaging program will spark interests, foster creativity and help you reach your learning potential. Friends and family will be invited to explore your game world on the last day.

No prior experience with Minecraft or iPads needed.

Minecraft Missions (Grades 4-9) 1 week

Are you up for an adventure? In this multi-player environment, Minecraft will be the vehicle to help develop your leadership and social skills, as you accomplish unique missions with a team of campers. Use your imagination and collaborate with your team to design and build a large-scale Minecraft Missions project. Decide between two exciting adventures - creating a Pirate Village by working on ships and engineering a seaport, or building a virtual ESF Amusement Park by plotting the layout, building haunted houses and designing themed rides. Creativity, critical thinking and communication will be your keys to success! Friends and family will be invited to participate in your adventure on the last day. Previous experience with Minecraft is recommended.

The Digital Photography Experience (Grades 4-10) 1 week

Learn to take photos like a pro! Explore photography techniques; learn about digital camera functionality and how to enhance photos with graphic design software. Gain hands-on experience taking photos and then digitally enhance them using Adobe Photoshop. Display your collection at the Gallery Exhibition for family and friends to view on the last day. No prior experience with cameras or Adobe Photoshop is necessary. All skill levels are welcome.

The Science of Roller Coasters with Minecraft (Grades 3-8) 1 week Amusement parks are filled with lots of heart-pounding fun, as well as multiple opportunities to learn about science and engineering. In this exciting camp, learn about the physics of roller coasters while exploring kinetic and potential energy, and centripetal force. At camp you’ll build and test, physical and “virtual” roller coaster models. Using various computer programs, including Minecraft, you’ll create virtual roller coasters and build scale models with K’NEX. Turns, loops and drops.... family and friends are invited to go on a “virtual ride” on the last day. No prior experience is necessary!

All listed grades refer to the grade the camper will be entering in the upcoming school year (2015-2016).

Use Minecraft to learn how to design, build and explore 3D game adventures. During the first week of camp, receive instruction in game design, mod installation, and a primer on Redstone circuits. In the second week, use your creativity and fine-tune your problem-solving skills, as you navigate the various construction challenges and work with Vanilla Minecraft, Tekkit and Minecraft EDU. Work individually and in groups to maximize collaboration and decision-making as you face design challenges and build your very own Minecraft world. You and your team will even have the opportunity to make a part of a group project come to life with a 3D printer! Friends and family will be invited to explore your 3D creation on the last day. No prior experience with Redstone is necessary. All skill levels are welcome.

Science Majors Invention by Design (Grades 3-9) 1 week Learn about famous inventors, lifechanging inventions, Rube Goldberg devices and more. Experience the design process, collaborate with your team and transform your ideas into real inventions that improve the world we live in today. Apply your ingenuity and innovative thinking to design, engineer, and refine prototypes of the world’s next great invention, which will be featured at the ESF Invention Convention for family and friends.

Space & Rocketry (Grades 3-9) 1 week Explore the laws of motion and the physics of rocket flight including propulsion, lift, drag, velocity, and aerodynamics. Construct your very own air, water, and solid fuel propelled rockets and countdown to lift-off at the Great ESF Rocket Launch among friends and family on the last day. Join us for an out of this world experience designed for future astronauts or rocket scientists.

Super Cool Science (Grades 3-9) 1 week Experience unique, hands-on science experiments that are as fun as they are educational. From chemical reactions, potions, polymers and slime to solar powered devices, zoon kites, dissections and more; discover answers to tantalizing scientific questions. Family and friends are invited to the Super Science Expo on the last day.

From beginners to the tournament-bound, under the guidance of experts, ESF Tennis Camp instills confidence for winning on and off the court.

3 LEVELS OF PLAY Learn the Basics For the beginner player, learn the fundamentals of the game: proper grip, racquet preparation, forehand, backhand, volley, serve, return of serve, overhead, footwork, and basic scoring.

Campers feel comfortable and confident on the court while experiencing steady improvement.

Refine Your Strokes For the intermediate player, develop and refine basic strokes with a focus on consistency, footwork, shot selection, and strategy. Campers further develop first and second serves, approach shots, and net game through instruction and match play.

AQUATICS PROGRAM

Swimming at ESF We develop swimmers utilizing the latest teaching techniques and coaching methods. Beginning with water safety skills and basic fundamentals, we then move on to progressive stroke development and refinement of techniques. Our well-established program is designed to be compatible with the unique and ever-changing abilities and skill levels of each camper. ESF also offers private swim instruction to campers who are interested in devoting more time to enhancing their skills.

Sports Camp (Con’t) Ages 7-14: Recreational swimming is offered daily.

Optional swimming instruction is also offered 2 days per week, before camp at no extra charge. Progress reports offered upon request.

Swimming is one of the most exciting parts of the camp day. Under the guidance and watchful eye of our Red Cross certified lifeguards and instructors, campers develop life skills too valuable to measure while learning to swim confidently in a safe and fun environment.

HIGHLIGHTS After Camp ESF also offers private swim instruction to campers who are interested in devoting more time to enhancing their skills.

Private Swim Instruction Available under the guidance and direction of our Red Cross certified Instructors and Lifeguards. Lessons are designed to be compatible with individual camper needs and skill levels. To enroll, please call the camp office. All lessons held at camp after 3:30pm.

ESF Aquatics Staff Our all-adult staff is made up of certified lifeguards and instructors who are trained to teach our program and adhere to impeccable safety protocols. We maintain a low staff to camper ratio.

Aquatics Director Seasoned leader who oversees the ESF swimming program as well as the overall quality and excellence in pool area.

Swim Levels ESF has established skill levels that campers progress through at their own pace.

Skill & Safety Testing Campers are tested on first day of camp for skill assessment and/or safety in deep water, depending on age and skill level.

Awards & Progress Reports Campers receive awards as they progress through each skill level. We provide updates on camper progress on a weekly basis or upon request, depending on age and skill level.

The fun and learning continues.

There are three great ways to extend your camp day. Enjoy a variety of specialty clinics and workshops. Attend Club OT, our flexible, before and aftercare program. Enroll in private and semiprivate enrichment lessons in swimming, sports, or academic tutoring. Try one or try them all!

Club OT On a regular or a drop-in basis, start the day as early as 8:00am and stay as late as 6pm. Club OT campers are divided into groups by age and enjoy sports, games, crafts, chess, book club, drama and much more. Afternoon snacks and refreshments provided. Flexible scheduling with no pre-payment or pre-registration required. Billing is done twice a month by mail.

Transportation

Complete both sides of the application, sign the back, and return with a $300 deposit per camper. Once we receive and review your application, a confirmation/invoice will be mailed to verify your reservation(s). Balance is due by April 1, 2015. All applications sent after April 1, 2015 require full payment.

If you’d like to organize your own car pool, please check the appropriate box on the application. In May, interested parents will receive a contact list of other families in their town who are also interested in carpooling.

Health History Record For the health and safety of all campers, no child will be allowed to attend camp without a completed ESF Health History Record on file. After enrollment, this form will be mailed to you and must be returned prior to camp.

Camp Orientation All important camp-related materials will be distributed at Camp Orientation which will take place in late May or early June.

Family, Group & Referral Discounts A 5% Family Discount is given to families enrolling 2 or more children. This discount applies to each child after the first in your immediate family. (The first child is the camper with the higher tuition.) Our 5% Group Discount allows you and your friends to receive a 5% discount off camp tuition. All you need to do is send 3 or more applications in the same envelope! For families enrolling online, call our office and we will assist you. (Please note: Family and Group Discounts are separate and may not be combined.) For every new family you refer, receive $150 back as a check or credit towards camp! Optional Lunch Program Campers may bring their own lunch & beverage to camp (which we refrigerate), or they may participate in our optional lunch program for an additional $37.50 per week by checking the appropriate box above.

Cancellations & Changes deadline: April 1, 2015 If you need to cancel your child’s enrollment in camp, you must notify us in writing by April 1, 2015 in order to receive a refund.

Cancellations on or prior to this date are subject to a $50 processing fee per child. No refunds will be given out after April 1, 2015 regardless of your registration date. Changes in enrolled weeks are based on availability and must also be made on or before the April 1, 2015 deadline.

Grouping Requests Campers are grouped according to age and grade level. If you would like your child grouped with a specific friend, please write his/ her name and home phone number on this application. Campers MUST be entering the same grade next fall.
