On behalf of the school, I would like to thank the many parents, teachers, staff, and friends who have generously donated their time and talent to benefit the resources required to ignite lives of purpose. Special thanks to the ESDPA and our MVP Auction Co-chairs Caycie Briner P’23, ’26, ’32; Corie Green P’31, ’32; and Susan O’Neal P’29, ’32; our ESDPA President, April Cook P’26, ’30; and the numerous volunteers who made this evening possible. Enjoy the evening!

WELCOME TO THE ESD PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION AUCTION, “SATURDAY NIGHT LIGHTS”! Tonight, we look forward to celebrating our community; raising funds for our outstanding students, faculty, and staff; and bringing home a VICTORY for The Episcopal School of Dallas. All proceeds from this evening’s event will directly impact and benefit our children and ESD! Without the support of generous underwriters, donors, and ticket holders, tonight would not be possible. A huge “hip hip hooray” to all who supported the 2024 Auction! To our Auction Team Volunteers, ESD staff, and our amazing PA President, April Cook, thank you for your hard work, continued support, and selfless contributions, which took “Saturday Night Lights” from a little idea to a fabulous event! Thank you for your vision and the countless hours you dedicated to creating a CHAMPIONSHIP evening for us all! We are honored by your presence tonight and hope that you enjoy all of the festivities! Let’s Raise Those Bid Paddles High and Bring Home an ESD WIN!

AUCTION RULES CHECK-IN

At check-in, guests will receive a bid number to use in the Raffle, Big Board, and Live Auction. A credit card must be provided at check-in to bid on items. Accepted forms of payment are Mastercard or Visa.

BIG BOARD

To bid on Big Board items, utilize your mobile phone and click on the link you received at check-in, and the link will log you into the mobile bidding site. Your name, bid number, and table number will be listed at the top of your phone. Click on the items tab to view all items. To bid on an item, enter your bid number and the minimum bid displayed or the maximum you are willing to pay for the item. Max Bidding allows you to place a bid for the highest amount you are willing to pay and hold that bid without letting any other bidder know there is a maximum bid set. The system will bid for you until the maximum bid is met. When someone else sees the item that has a max bid placed on it, they will see the amount that anyone has tried placing a regular bid on. If they try to place a regular bid, they will have a red note showing them the amount they bid is unavailable. No outbid text goes out to these bids because they instantly know they have been outbid. All sales are final.

LIVE

To bid on Live items, raise your bid number or hand to be recognized by the Auctioneer. Once the Auctioneer says “SOLD,” the winning bidder must hold up his or her hand until the sale is recorded. The winning bidder will be presented with a bid sheet to sign and confirm the purchase price of the item auctioned. Your bid, oral or written, is a binding contract. All sales are final.

PAYMENT & CHECK-OUT

Auction winners must pay for all items before leaving the auction. All items will be available for pick-up starting Tuesday, March 5, at ESD in the Parents’ Association Office located above the Gill Library.

CONDITIONS OF SALE

All transactions will be by bidder number. Items purchased, including vacation homes, trips, and entertainment suites, are only for adult or family use and are not transferable. All items are sold asis. All sales are final. There will be no refunds, returns, or exchanges of items. Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash. All items are subject to the donor’s restrictions. Airline and trip arrangements are subject to availability. Where trips or special events are involved, dates must be agreed upon by both the purchaser and donor unless the date is clearly stated in the item’s description. Taxes and tips are not included unless specifically noted. Federal, excise, state, and local taxes must be paid where applicable by the purchaser. All auction items must be used or redeemed by March 1, 2025, with no exceptions unless otherwise specified. Any dispute will be resolved in a manner designated by the auction mediator and the Parents’ Association President at their sole discretion. All decisions of the auction mediator will be final and binding on all auction participants.

PAPPY VAN WINKLE 23 YEAR Much has been written, declared, and whispered about Julian “Pappy” Van Winkle and his line of whiskies. Most of those would agree that Pappy Van Winkle 23 Year is the king of bourbon. This rare, limited-edition bourbon takes generations of distilling know-how to produce. It is distilled and aged in very small quantities by the Buffalo Trace distillery, one of America’s most pre-eminent and highly acclaimed producers of whiskey. With notes of caramel, ripe apples, cherries, oak, and a hint of chocolate, one can taste every one of the 23 years it spent in an oak barrel tucked away in the heart of the rick house in Frankfort, Kentucky. As Buffalo Trace themselves would say, this whiskey is best enjoyed neat. I’d say it’s best enjoyed with friends. VALUE: $6,500 RESTRICTIONS: No returns or exchanges.
