DEAR PARENTS AND FRIENDS, Welcome to “Together We Soar,” a celebration of our collective commitment to ESD students, community, and mission of igniting lives of purpose through the development of an educated conscience.

On behalf of the school, thank you to the many parents, teachers, staff, and friends who have generously donated their time, talent, and treasure at this remarkable event. Through your support, funds raised tonight will help provide enrichment opportunities and resources for students of all ages, like tuition assistance and the continued professional development of our school’s greatest asset: our faculty and staff.

Auction Rules CHECK-IN At check-in, guests will receive a bid number to use in the Raffle, Big Board, and Live Auction. A credit card must be provided at check-in to bid on items. Accepted forms of payment are Master Card or Visa.

BIG BOARD To bid on Big Board items you will utilize your mobile phone, click on the link you received at check-in, and the link will log you into the mobile bidding site. Your name, bid number, and table number will be listed at the top of your phone. Click on the items tab to view all items. To bid on an item, enter your bid number and then enter the minimum bid displayed or the maximum you are willing to pay for the item. Max Bidding gives you the ability to place a bid for the highest amount you are willing to pay and hold that bid without letting any other bidder know that there is a max bid set. The system will bid on your behalf until the max bid is met. When someone else sees the item that has a max bid placed on it they will see the amount that anyone has tried placing a regular bid on. If they try to place a regular bid they will have a red note that shows them the amount they bid is not available. No outbid text goes out to these bids because they instantly know they have been outbid. All sales are final.

LIVE To bid on Live items, raise your bid number or hand to be recognized by the Auctioneer. Once the Auctioneer says “SOLD,” the winning bidder must hold up his or her hand until the sale is recorded. The winning bidder will be presented with a bid sheet to sign and confirm the purchase price of the item auctioned. Your bid, oral or written, is a binding contract. All sales are final.

PAYMENT & CHECK-OUT Auction winners must pay for all items before leaving the auction. All items will be available for pick-up starting Tuesday, March 8 at ESD in Mary Beth Weinberger’s office located above the Gill Library.

CONDITIONS OF SALE All transactions will be by bidder number. Items purchased including vacation homes, trips, and entertainment suites are for adult or family use only and are not transferable. All items are sold as-is. All sales are final. There will be no refunds, returns, or exchanges of items. Gift certificates are not redeemable for cash. All items are subject to the donor’s restrictions. Airline and trip arrangements are subject to availability. Where trips or special events are involved, dates must be agreed upon by both the purchaser and donor, unless the date is clearly stated in the item’s description. Taxes and tips are not included unless specifically noted. Federal, excise, state, and local taxes must be paid where applicable by the purchaser. All auction items must be used or redeemed by March 5, 2023, with no exceptions unless otherwise specified. Any dispute will be resolved in a manner designated by the auction mediator and the Parents’ Association President, at their sole discretion. All decisions of the auction mediator will be final and binding on all auction participants.

One lucky budding chef or restaurateur will be given the unique educational experience of learning about product innovation, marketing, and the art of gelato-making through the creation of their own authentic Italian gelato flavor. The winning bidder and three friends will receive a two-session gelato-making lesson from Diego Comparin, Paciugo’s second-generation master Italian gelato chef. The winner will first work with Diego and the Paciugo team to brainstorm flavors, ingredients, presentation, and the name of their custom gelato flavor. At the second session, the students will receive a personalized chef coat and will help Diego and the Paciugo gelato team make the student’s custom flavor at Paciugo’s corporate office and manufacturing center. What is EAGLES LACROSSE? Eagles Lacrosse is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization run by volunteers and a paid coaching staff. The club supports the development of ESD lacrosse players, but operates independently of the ESD athletic department. Dr. Denning is Board Certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. He completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.

His neurosurgical training included chief resident positions at The Methodist Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Ben Taub General Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital and the Michael E. DeBakey Veteran’s Affairs Hospital.

Following his residency, he was awarded a fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at New York University Medical Center in New York and a preceptorship in cerebrovascular surgery with Professor Juha Hernesniemi, Chairman of Neurosurgery, Helsinki University Central Hospital Töölö Hospital in Finland.

Dr. Denning is on staff at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Plano, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas – as past Chairman of the Neurosurgical Department — and Methodist Hospital for Surgery. He currently serves as the Chief of Neurosurgery at Baylor Plano.
