OUR FACILITY Our Olney, Illinois facility uniquely combines manufacturing expertise with modern equipment to efficiently and cost-effectively produce a wide range of counterweights.

Since 1997, we have been based in Olney, Illinois. Our modern steel-strand facility is 110,000 square feet including manufacturing and warehousing.

Our shipping facility includes six dock-height doors with dock levelers.

Our blow-molding operation, utilizes our 10 accumulator head blowmolders ranging from ½ pound to 25 pound shot size. We also maintain a unique high-speed filling operation utilized in a wide range of products.

Our facility includes three outside silos and three large bunkers. We run three shifts of molding operations. Our facility is managed by a team of experienced and degreed professionals with a combined 100 years of manufacturing experience.

OUR PRINCIPLES QUALITY The foundation of our quality is based on continuous improvement, rigorous product testing, and adherence to recognized safety protocols. A practice of continuous product improvement includes customer feedback so even the smallest of concerns are addressed. We utilize statistical process controls and random audits in our manufacturing processes. We also test for strength and cycle test for durability. As an American manufacturer, we meet or exceed local, state and federal guidelines for proper labeling of material content. With our central location in the USA, we are here to quickly handle any issues that may arise.

Customer satisfaction is our number one goal. We offer 24-hour drop-shipping. Our on-site customer service provides real-time freight quotes, order tracking, promised delivery dates, and can answer product-related questions. Our people know our products and can assist the customer in almost every situation.

Replacement and warranty parts are available on-site in Olney, Illinois.

THE SENTINEL RETRACTABLE BELT STANCHION is unchallenged as the most durable and affordable stanchion in its class. Made in the United States, the Sentinel post and base are made of high density polyethylene that is scratch-resistant and incredibly durable. The innovative assembly features Easy Connect, a snap together connection between the post and base that requires no tools for fast and easy assembly.

HOLD TRU POST DESIGN A reinforced shoulder keeps the post standing straight providing added strength and durability.

THE PREMIER STANCHION has a thicker wall than most stanchions making it stronger and more durable and less susceptible to dents or damage. The thicker, heavy duty post wall is 2X the wall thickness of many competitors.

SLIM, SLEEK DESIGN The Premier’s base is smaller in diameter than most stanchions eliminating tripping hazards, but always wide enough to keep the post remaining straight and upright.

US WEIGHT COMPANY OUR BEGINNING US Weight was founded in 1996 by Larry Mitchell and Matt Buchannan who were both entrepreneurs working in Olney, Illinois. The two partners purchased some of the fitness related assets from Roadmaster Corporation which was one of the largest sporting goods companies at the time. Some of Road Master’s brands included Vitamaster, DP, Ajay, Healthmaster, Universal, and Flexible Flyer. US Weight focused initially on the fitness market since it acquired the fitness weight manufacturing technology from Roadmaster originally developed by Diversified Products (DP) in the 1960s. DP pioneered the concept of nonferrous weight sets encased in blow-molded polyethylene shell which significantly broadened the reach and appeal of fitness equipment and usage in the USA. These newly-designed weights did not rust, did not scuff floors, were easy to handle, and were much lower cost than traditional cast iron fitness weights. DP branded these innovate weight sets Orbatron. US Weight utilized the DP technology and experience to quickly become a success securing distribution at WalMart, K-Mart, Sears, and other retailers. Escalade, Inc. purchased US Weight in 2001 from Larry and Matt to further expand its sporting goods business. Escalade, founded in 1927, is publicly-traded company on the Nasdaq (ESCA) and has been a leading manufacturer of sporting goods and outdoor recreation equipment for nearly 90 years. Escalade is headquartered in Evansville, Indiana and has operations throughout North America.

OUR BUSINESS TODAY US Weight has called Olney, Illinois its home since the company started in 1996. The management team and manufacturing facility are both located in Olney. With an entrepreneurial team and unique manufacturing capabilities, US Weight has grown and expanded its product range over the years. Today, the US Weight’s product range includes tractor wheel weights, suitcase weights, tiller weights, fitness weights and steps, umbrella bases, and canopy weights. US Weight attends a wide range of trade shows throughout the USA to exhibit and support its expanding product range. US Weight sells to a wide variety of customers including Wal-Mart, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Big 5 Sporting Goods, Zumba, Amazon, John Deere, Husqvarna, MTD, and Kubota. US Weight also offers customized OEM solutions with its in-house engineers working directly with customers to save time and money on weighted applications where steel or cast iron is commonly used.

OUR LATEST INNOVATIONS After several years of research and design, US Weight has introduced a line of highly differentiated crowd control stanchions and visual safety barriers.

Our patented Sta-Straight technology on our U21 series premium steel stanchion and chain hideaway on our ChainBoss molded stanchions are just two examples of the innovation that US Weight has introduced to the market.
