The City of Escondido has updated our registration process for our Learn-to-Swim program.
• There are two options for session enrollments, both offering four, 30-minute lessons:
Option A: Day-of-the-Week: attend four consecutive weeks at the same day and time. (e.g., Four consecutive Mondays for a month, every class meets at 4 pm). Swimmers may enroll in more than one Day-of-the-Week session, at the same level. (e.g., Enroll in both Monday and Saturday Grunion lessons).
Option B: Accelerated: choose a specific week and enroll in four classes that meet at the same time each day that week. (e.g., Monday through Thursday at 4pm each day)
• Report cards are given at the end of every four-class, session enrollment.
• All NEW students are required to perform a skill assessment before they can enroll in any class above Duck. (See page 13 for levels) The benchmark skills must be fully performed to advance to the next level. For returning swimmers, the last completed level will still be registered on their Amilia account.
• Assessments will be held on Water Safety Day May 18, 2-4 p.m. and all open lap and open swim times; please request at the front desk upon entry, for pool staff to assist in the assessment.
• At the assessment, a staff member will assign the correct skill to the swimmer’s Amilia account, allowing the student to enroll in the level best suited to them.
• Due to high demand, accelerated lessons will open on a rolling basis: in 2-week increments, on Fridays. Day-of-the-Week lessons will all open on April 16.
