Every great journey starts with a moment of courage; Not when you have every answer, but in the decision to trust yourself to begin. At Kennesaw State, you'll discover what you're capable of doing. You'll ask bigger questions, solve real problems, create alongside people who challenge your thinking, and step into experiences that take you far beyond the classroom. With every project, every connection, every opportunity, every breakthrough, you'll build something even more valuable than knowledge — confidence. Flight isn't about leaving the ground all at once. It is built through thousands of small moments — the first hand you raise, the first research opportunity you accept, and the first leadership role you never imagined yourself taking. Before long, what once felt impossible will become second nature. Here, you'll find mentors who believe in your potential, classmates who become lifelong collaborators, and a university that gives you the freedom to explore who you are and who you're becoming. One day, you'll look back and realize you did not just earn a degree. You learned to take flight.
TAKE NOTICE OF OUR OWLS IN FLIGHT Throughout these pages, you will find stories f rom KSU students who found their people, followed their curiosity, took on new challenges, and discovered what they were capable of. Their experiences are woven throughout this book, offering a glimpse of where your journey could begin. We invite you to follow their flight and then imagine your own.

ALTITUDE
Today, the future is still just a vision. Maybe it's a hospital, a research lab, a design studio, or a classroom. It's a life you've imagined for yourself, but one that still feels just beyond the horizon. Then, little by little, your perspective begins to change. The ideas you explore in class become hands-on experiences. A mentor helps you see possibilities you hadn't considered. A conversation at a career fair becomes a connection, and an internship becomes the moment you realize your future isn't as far away as it once seemed. One opportunity leads naturally to the next until what once felt distant begins to come into focus. That's what KSU Career Planning and Development is all about. Through career coaching, internships, career fairs, and employer partnerships, you'll gain professional experience and the perspective to see yourself in the places where you once only imagined you could be. 8

It begins with something as simple as raising your hand. You ask a question after class, and that conversation leads you to a faculty mentor. Together, you step into the lab, the field, or the community to explore ideas that have never been fully answered. What begins as curiosity becomes a funded research project. And suddenly you find yourself no longer studying past discoveries but moving the future forward, one question at a time. That's what makes research at Kennesaw State different. As one of the nation's leading research universities, you will work alongside faculty mentors and have opportunities to begin undergraduate research as early as your first semester. Here, your questions and ideas are welcome from day one, giving you the chance to make an impact sooner than you ever imagined.

HORIZONS It begins with a boarding pass. Then, somewhere above the clouds, the view begins to change.
Roads weave together, rivers carve their way across the landscape, and cities that once felt worlds apart suddenly belong to the same view. The farther you travel, the more you realize that everything you thought was separate is connected. That same perspective follows you to unfamiliar ground. You and your classmates begin navigating unfamiliar streets, hearing new languages, and discovering that every culture offers another way of seeing. That's what Global Education at Kennesaw State is all about. Through education abroad and global learning experiences, you'll build meaningful connections across cultures and return with a broader understanding of the world, the people in it, and your place within it. Because sometimes the greatest journey isn't measured in miles; It's measured in perspective.
