SPOTLIGHT

Launched in the early days of Escola Concept in 2018, our magazine aimed to capture the essence of our vibrant community and its achievements. We have decided to relaunch the Spotlight to share the success stories of our graduating learners throughout our community.

Dear Community,

growth

2025 stands as a defining milestone in the journey of Escola Concept.

This year, we proudly celebrated the first graduating class of our Ribeirão Preto campus, the third in Salvador, and the second in São Paulo. Each graduating class represents far more than a moment of completion, it is a living expression of our mission in action.

At Concept, we are deeply committed to bringing our purpose to life every day: to offer an academically rigorous, challenging, inclusive, and global education that develops happy, thoughtful human beings who positively impact the world around them.

These graduates are not only prepared for what comes next, they are ready to shape it. As you move through the pages of this Spotlight, we invite you to look closely. Within each story, each project, and each voice, you will find evidence of learning that is intentional, meaningful, and transformative. You will see how moments become milestones, and how education becomes impact.

This is our mission, lived.

With love,

muchness

It is with great joy that I reaffirm Escola Concept São Paulo’s commitment to academic rigor and the holistic development of its learners.

The vibrancy of this community, along with the strong sense of agency with which our learners shape their own paths, were key factors that inspired me to take on the role of Head of School in São Paulo.

Although I did not accompany the Class of 2025 throughout their full journey, I had the opportunity to meet many of these learners during experiences on our campus. It has been truly inspiring to witness the strength of their journeys and the consistency of the work that has supported their growth.

The future we build each day - through active methodologies and a strong College & Career Counseling program - is incredibly promising.

We move forward with excitement for all that we will continue to build together in the year ahead.

With care,

To Our Senior Class of 2025 and Their Families,

Although I had the privilege of knowing the Class of 2025 for only the final six months of their journey at Escola Concept Salvador, they made a lasting impression on me from the very beginning In that relatively short time, they welcomed me with open arms, showed me remarkable kindness and generosity, and helped me begin my own journey in this community with confidence and gratitude. What I will always remember most is not simply what they had accomplished, but the quality of the young adults they had become.

From the moment I came to know them, I was deeply impressed by who they were as people. They were intelligent, responsible, hardworking, and highly prepared for what lay ahead, but just as importantly, they carried themselves with maturity, character, and a sincere commitment to their community. In them, I saw the kind of learner and young adult that any school would hope to develop. I remember thinking very clearly that if this is the kind of learner Escola Concept Salvador helps shape, then this truly is the special place I had hoped it would be.

What also stood out so powerfully about the Class of 2025 was the depth of their connection to this school. They cared deeply about Concept, and that care revealed itself not only in their pride but also in their honesty, reflection, and high expectations. They helped me understand what makes this school so special, while also helping me see where we could continue to grow. In that sense, they embodied something essential to the Concept spirit: the belief that growth is never finished, that excellence requires reflection, and that continuous improvement is both a personal responsibility and a shared commitment.

For all of this, I have nothing but gratitude and respect for this class Even in a short time together, they left a meaningful mark on me and strengthened my belief in the mission and potential of Escola Concept Salvador. As they moved on to university and the next chapter of their lives, they did so as young adults who were not only well prepared but purposeful, grounded, and ready to contribute. The Class of 2025 will always hold a special place in my memory, and I remain deeply thankful for the way they welcomed me, challenged me, and inspired me.

With pride and partnership,

belong

Dear Class of 2025 and Families,

I had the opportunity to walk closely alongside this class during this final and significant year. Being part of their 2025 experience allowed me to witness, up close, the way they came together as a group, navigated challenges, and prepared for what lies ahead.

This class represents a defining chapter in the history of Escola Concept, as our very first graduating class - a milestone that carries both pride and responsibility.

Throughout this year, I saw learners who were not only academically prepared, but also thoughtful, reflective, and deeply connected to one another. I witnessed moments of growth, resilience, and leadership that speak not only to what they have learned, but to who they have become.

As pioneers, you did more than complete a journey - you helped shape it. You contributed to building traditions, strengthening our community, and setting the tone for the classes that will follow. Your presence and your choices have left a lasting mark on this school.

What stands out most is not only what you achieved, but the way you embraced this final year - with intention, maturity, and a growing sense of purpose.

You leave prepared for what comes next, but more importantly, ready to engage with the world with confidence and authenticity.

This will always be your school. And you will always be remembered as the class that started it all.

With pride,

As I reflect on the journey of the Class of 2025, what stands out most is not any single achievement, but the steady growth that has taken place over time: growth in how these learners think, how they approach challenges, and how they take responsibility for their learning and for one another.

High school is not meant to be a straight path There are moments of uncertainty, of recalibration, and of discovery What has been encouraging is the way this group has engaged with those moments - often with honesty, and increasingly with purpose One year ago the class of 2026 seemed young and unfocused

senior class

I remember that at one time last year I had to speak to them “ as a class” about their attitude towards school. Now they are role models in high school. There is nothing better than going into the Senior Hub and seeing them working on their own out of intrinsic motivation.

At Concept, we speak often about preparing students for a future that is still taking shape. That preparation is not only academic. It is about developing the ability to collaborate, to adapt, to question, and to act with integrity. The Class of 2026 demonstrates these abilities.

As they move forward, I hope they carry with them not just what they have learned, but how they have learned - because that, ultimately, is what will allow them to continue growing long after they leave us.

With partnership,

When reflecting on what it means to build a meaningful and transformative high school journey, this senior class naturally emerges as the central character You are far more than students completing a cycle, you are the authors and protagonists of a shared path defined by purpose, growth, and determination

senior class

Over the years, I have watched your curiosity deepen, your thinking become sharper, and your voices gain strength. You have not only faced challenges, but learned to interpret them, question them, and transform them into opportunities. The connections you built, the perspectives you developed, and the choices you made reflect a group that understands its identity and its potential.

Your journey reveals increasing independence and clarity. The work you produced and the goals you set show a genuine commitment to what matters to you and to the difference you wish to make in the world.

This is a moment of recognition and celebration, but also of projection. What you have become here is only the beginning. The future you are shaping carries the same courage, intention, and impact that define your story today.

Dear Learners,

As we conclude our High School journey, we celebrate more than the end of a chapter We celebrate a path built together - shaped by curiosity, collaboration, and the courage to learn. Throughout High School, you have been far more than students You have been the protagonists of a story written through projects, challenges, discoveries, and meaningful connections.

senior class

Every question asked, every idea shared, and every obstacle overcome has contributed to building the unique identity of this division. At Concept, we believe that learning is also about building community. The strength of this journey lies in the collective identity you have created - a generation that thinks, investigates, creates, and transforms.

Today, we recognize all that has been experienced and built. We celebrate your academic achievements, your personal growth, and the collaborative culture that defines our mission.

As we look ahead, we know this story does not end here - it expands. Each of you will follow your own path, carrying something essential: the experience of belonging to a community that learns with purpose.

With pride and gratitude, we celebrate you.

SAT scores are used by many colleges and universities as a key indicator of a student's college readiness and are a common data point for comparing applicants. A strong SAT score can significantly enhance a student's application to universities in the U.S. and worldwide, playing a critical role in admissions decisions, course placement, and academic advising.

STORYLINES BY CAMPUS:

RAO: mostly Brazil - focused in business, medicine and engineering.

SAO: most even distribution between brazil and international universities: 107 approvals.

SSA: especially in 2025, most of admissions were abroad.

STANDARDIZED TESTING PROFILE

building confidence

Mock exams, program, designed to strengthen university preparation while building confidence and making progress visible.

Rather than serving as core assessments, these experiences provided additional, targeted opportunities for learners to practice under real exam conditions. Each mock practice allowed learners to better understand their performance, identify areas for growth, and refine their approach over time.

Throughout 2025, we ensured both consistency and access Across the year, learners engaged in 14 dedicated Saturday mock exam opportunities, alongside in-school assessments. These sessions supported preparation for a wide range of pathways, including Advanced Placement (AP) exams such as AP Human Geography, AP Statistics, AP Literature, AP Biology, AP World History, AP Pre-Calculus, and AP Language, as well as SAT, ENEM, Fuvest, and universities assessments such as Insper, FGV, and ESPM.

A key strength of this structure was its flexibility. In addition to the scheduled calendar, learners requested mocks on demand through the Center for Continuous Growth, ensuring that preparation was aligned with their individual university goals and timelines

This approach reinforced a clear purpose: building confidence through practice and tracking progress over time. With each experience, learners not only consolidated content knowledge, but also developed the strategies, stamina, and self-awareness required for high-stakes assessments.

The results reflected this intentionality. Learners demonstrated stronger performance, greater confidence, and a more strategic approach to their preparation, key indicators of readiness for both Brazilian and international university pathways.

Our commitment was to ensure that every learner was supported in navigating their next step. These mock experiences were one of the ways we made that journey structured, visible, and purposeful.

Welcome to 'Learners on the Spotlight' in which we are celebrating five learners who are shining bright by taking the name of our school to greater heights.

From early on, I always questioned the idea that success follows a fixed path We are often told that life should follow a clear sequence: go to school, attend college, get a job... I never believed that life had to unfold this way. My experience at Escola Concept helped me understand that success can take many forms depending on who you are and what you value. The school gave me the space to reflect on my goals, explore my interests, and realize that with effort, dedication, and the right intentions, people can build their own paths towards fulfilling their dreams.

LOOKING

At Concept, I had the opportunity to learn from outstanding educators across many areas. Their guidance helped me discover what truly interested me and what I wanted to pursue in the future. One area that captured my attention was the financial world. Although I was first introduced to financial markets at home, Concept allowed me to explore these interest through projects and conversations with classmates. I often shared what I was learning with friends, helping them understand topics such as the stock market and DeFi These experiences eventually led me to join Neutral Trade, a yield-focused company where I began working while still in high school.

We now see young people prepared to get into universities and the job market with extensive practical experience, transferable skills, and determination, bringing with them the innovation and mindset necessary to be successful learners and professionals

Gloria W. is an alumna from the class of 2025, currently about to begin her first year of The New School

When I first moved into Concept, I was the kind of student who waited to be told what to do. I stuck to what I was good at, avoided anything I might fail at, and spent a lot of energy trying to look like I had it together. I didn't really. I was hesitant, uncertain, and honestly a little afraid of starting things.

Concept slowly dismantled that. Not through any single class, but through the accumulation of being pushed to actually do things define a real problem, talk to real people, build something and see if it holds. The Innovation Diploma was where that clicked most clearly for me I interviewed our maintenance staff, found out what they genuinely needed, and built MEEP from those conversations. When it wasn't working, I had to go back and ask why, which turned out to be more useful than anything I could have planned in advance

São Paulo

Arte N C grew from the same place a question about whether emerging artists in Brazil had the platforms they deserved, and a willingness to try building one. In four months we went from an idea to real exhibitions, real audiences, real artists trusting us with their work. Walking through major art fairs and being recognized by people whose work I admired was surreal. It showed me that consistency and seriousness travel further than I expected.

What Concept gave me, more than anything, is a way of working I plan, I test, I pay attention to what's actually happening rather than what I hoped would happen, and I adjust. I learned that from projects that didn't go smoothly, from teachers who gave me honest feedback instead of comfortable feedback, and from having to stand behind outcomes that were genuinely mine.

I'm leaving with more than a diploma. I'm leaving with the confidence that I can walk into something I don't fully understand yet and find my way through it which feels like exactly the right preparation for what comes next "

At Concept, I learned to use that instinct on problems that aren’t clean like equations. Šutēru started as a simple question: can learning have a direct, real consequence? It turned into a platform that’s donated over three tons of food by rewarding quiz answers. When I began, I didn’t know how to code an app, reach out to NGOs, or deal with logistics. I learned by building, messing up, fixing it, and doing it again until it worked.

came from a different : what happens to students ggle in a system that wasn’t r them? Training neural to support dyslexia ion while still in high school d, but honestly the technical never the real point. Behind ataset was an actual kid. that in my head is what e take it seriously and keep

Teaching finance at Projeto Magnólia and founding the investment club at school came from the same place. I really believe that understanding how money and systems work is a form of access and not everyone gets that access equally If I could help one more person finally get something that felt impossible before, that felt worth it

I’m leaving Concept with a clear sense of what I want to use my skills for. The ambitions big, but I’ve learned that ambition without discipline is just talk. What actually changes things is showing up every day, even when it’s not exciting, and doing the work anyway. That’s the habit Concept gave me, and it’s the one I’m most grateful for.

Felipe M. is an alumnus from the class of 2025, currently about to begin his first year of Mechanical Engineering at UC San Diego.

idea that energy cannot be created, only sferred lived rent free in my head. I an noticing how mechanisms around us etly use this principle to make life easier. hat moment I realized I wanted to create own mechanisms. I wanted to become an ineer. I just did not know where to begin.

Escola Concept became the place where that curiosity could actually grow Every time I learned about a natural phenomenon in class, I would imagine a possible application and later question the teacher to see if it could work. Those conversations slowly transformed curiosity into a real interest in science and mathematics. Opportunities began to appear. When a company called RISE presented the possibility of funding student projects, I explored hands-on science and learned how ideas could become real experiments. Later, a counselor pointed me toward a Calculus I course from UC Berkeley, where I could test myself in a university level class. Without the school, I would not have known where to find that kind of challenge.

São Paulo

The school also gave me the freedom to investigate ideas I genuinely cared about. During one research project I explored a technology to see if it could allow people to climb walls, like Spider Man. With the guidance of teachers I learned how to read academic studies, conduct experiments, present results, and write a research paper. Escola Concept also exposed me to universities and engineers, allowing conversations and advice that you simply cannot find online. At the same time, it encouraged students to turn ideas into real initiatives

That is how I developed Ideology, an app designed to support growing ideas and help them become finished products. Experiences like the High School Challenge pushed me to defend ideas clearly and think like a builder, often feeling as if I were pitching in Shark Tank. Through these moments the school did more than teach subjects It helped transform curiosity into

Another experience that deeply impacted me was the opportunity to be a intern in the school’s marketing team It was the first time I felt like I was doing real work in a professional environment, even while still being a student. I had never seen a school offer that kind of opportunity before. Being able to contribute, observe how ideas turn into campaigns, and participate in the creative process was incredibly eye-opening. That experience helped me better understand my interest in marketing and showed me how learning at school could connect directly with the real world.

Concept also gave me the confidence to explore ideas beyond traditional academic work. I was encouraged to think creatively, propose projects, and take ownership of what I wanted to build. That environment made learning feel much more personal. Instead of feeling like I was simply completing schoolwork, I felt like I was creating things that actually mattered to me and to the community around me.

Escola Concept has been a place where ideas are not only encouraged but truly supported. It is an environment where curiosity turns into projects, and where students are trusted to take initiative and create something meaningful Through experiences like Concept Space and my internship with the marketing team, study, it can be a place to build, exp

Maite L. is an alumna from the Class of 2025, currently studying Business at Link School of Business and building her own e-commerce business.

When I first arrived at Concept, I was already someone with a lot of ideas, energy, and ambition but I was still learning how to trust on my own voice. I cared deeply about doing well, but I think I often saw growth as something that had to look polished from the beginning. I potential into What chang moment, bu and think be really staye may have lo actually tau and intention

It was built through a design thinking mindset, which meant thinking about what people would actually enjoy, what would engage them, and how to make something meaningful and light at the same time. It taught me that even small ideas can have impact when they are created with care and purpose.

Another defining part of my experience was FOL: Festival of Learning. Having to present what we learned throughout the semester pushed me to do more than just complete work; it pushed me to understand it, own it, and communicate it. FOL taught me how to articulate my thinking, how to present ideas with more confidence, and how to reflect on my own learning process instead of just moving on from it It made me realize that learning becomes much more powerful when you can actually translate it into something clear, intentional, and real.

But honestly, some of the most meaningful parts of my journey came from the culture around all of it, experiences like Parade, Color War, and the way school life at Concept constantly invited us to show up fully. Those moments may seem simple from the outside, but they shaped how I connect with people, how I participate in a community, and how I learned to be both expressive and present. They gave me memories, but they also gave me confidence

What Concept gave me more than anything was movement. It taught me to stop waiting to feel “ready” and to start doing. It helped me become someone who is more willing to speak, create, present, adapt, and trust her own ideas.

I’m leaving with much more than academic learning. I’m leaving with a stronger sense of self, a more entrepreneurial and creative mindset, and the understanding that some of the most important growth happens when you are asked not just to study something, but to build, express, and live it.

As I look ahead, I know I want to keep building in spaces where ideas, innovation, b d

Guilherme L. is an alumnus from the Class of 2025, currently in his first year of Industrial Engineering at the University of São Paulo (USP)

Before I started at Concept, I had a very limited mindset. I was used to staying in my comfort zone and doing what was expected of me, without really questioning what else I could achieve I didn’t fully see how many opportunities existed or how much control I had ed me in ways I wasn’t used to, and that ges was my English, since we practiced it I stopped seeing myself as someone who self as someone who can create, take e way, I also became more confident endships and connections.

During my time at school, the experiences that impacted me the most were the projects I worked on. One of the most important was the Personal Passion Project, where my group and I had to identify a real problem among students and try to solve it. We focused on learning challenges, and the process required much more than just having a good idea. We had to interview people, organize data, test solutions, and constantly rethink our approach. I realized that solving a big problem is really about dealing with many small obstacles, and that progress depends on how well you adapt along the way.

Another important experience was the Entrepreneurship Fair, where I took a leadership role, especially in sales and organization. I helped coordinate how we would structure the day and worked directly on making things happen. This experience showed me that without clear organization and communication, even good ideas don’t move forward

Looking ahead, I want to fully dedicate myself to university, but also continue developing personal projects that genuinely interest me. I believe that education goes far beyond what is taught in class, and that becoming a better professional also means becoming a more proactive and thoughtful person. My goal is to build strong skills, follow my interests, and create something meaningful that can have a positive impact on my community I also hope to have an international experience in the future, such as studying abroad.

A final experience that really marked me was helping organize the seniors' graduation party. Along with other students in leadership roles, I was involved in everything, from fundraising to planning the event itself, including food and logistics. It was honestly one of the most challenging things I did especially because I had to balance it with studying for USP | BRAZIL | INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING

When sustainability becomes action, learning takes shape.

What once was excess becomes possibility. What was waste becomes learning. What was an idea becomes impact. This is how values turn into action, and how learning lives on through new generations.

I have always had a passion for storytelling, imagining worlds and stories that could be told from my living room, improvising costumes with my clothes and scenarios with chairs and cushions In 2024, I wanted to share this passion with other colleagues, feeling that I could maybe help them to tell their own unique stories and learn a lot from them too. The club began with a small group of friends and used games to exercise and engage learners to think outside the box, trying different perspectives and making unexpected correlations between words. In our biweekly meetings in the Author’s Balcony, we explored different ways of brainstorming a narrative, and learned that the best and most original story one could tell was a story that came from personal experiences and feelings.

In 2025, we received our Literature and Portuguese educators Janaína Soggia and Roberta Baradel to think of a project that carried the face and touch of each student from the group. Each one worked on a short story or poem with the theme of “Memory”. This made us dive into our own and most personal reflections and bravely allow other people to navigate them We also organized a round table discussion in the school's Literary Event and raffles to finance our project, that culminates into a collective book as the product of our 2025 team, bringing voice, tenderness, and thoughts that we hope can impact other people out there.

Throughout my journey at Escola Concept, I was able to grow as a person and understand what my competencies and skills are. I experienced semester projects, the FOL, which helped me develop leadership in activities, build a collaborative relationship to achieve goals, and apply my knowledge in practice. I participated in classes about Design Thinking projects and I do not regret it at all; unfortunately, I discovered this skill only in my final year of school, but I am happy to have developed the ability to think creatively in the face of real problems and to build resilience during the creation process, even when making mistakes and getting things right. I am also grateful for the opportunity to have had project-oriented classes with teachers who supported me throughout this journey full of achievements and surprises.

changes

I participated in article competitions from Cornell University, presenting my project on social sciences, which was further developed during the process of submitting the article to the institution. It was a very intense journey to improve my research and academic writing skills, but I was supported by my teachers, and I became deeply involved in the process because it was at that moment that I discovered my passion for the field of creation

Additionally, I was invited to participate in a northeastern fair called FENECIT, which helped me improve my public speaking skills. I was able to learn about projects from all over the country and was amazed by the creativity and potential of the work presented Through these experiences, I was able to earn certificates that confirmed my learning and potential in project-based work, and the school gave me a jacket with the award printed on it, which I keep as a reminder of the memories I created, even being far from the school.

I had the opportunity to work as an intern taking care of kindergarten children; it was a unique experience. I really enjoy being around children, and I am always amazed by their creative imagination, they are capable of taking two blocks and saying that together they become a boat in their imagination I built meaningful relationships with the people I met at Concept, people who motivated me to be strong and brave even during difficult moments when I thought about giving up. Being able to talk about life while having lunch in the cafeteria, grabbing a coffee when I was very sleepy, and I hope to see them again and relive all the good moments I experienced during that time.

Julia’s project was presented at FENECIT and the Mostra Dick, and she submitted the paper to Cornell University, where it was awarded Best Paper in Latin America for Under-Graduates (pre-university).

I feel that I practiced my English very little during my academic life. I had several projects and activities in English, but I did not make the most of them. I love practicing new languages and I missed that. In my senior year, the school was very attentive and flexible with the students, especially in adapting the class schedule to fit our university application demands, which was very valuable in this final year of school The school’s methodology helped me a lot in adapting to college; the style of working on projects and thinking critically is very important and frequently used in university. I am able to organize myself better and stand out by mastering these skills, it may seem simple, but it is constantly applied in assignments and activities.

Throughout my two and a half years at the school, I realized that the Julia who entered Concept in 2023 is not the same who left in 2025. She left more mature and more capable of facing life’s challenges with courage. I learned to be a better person to myself, understanding my needs and demands. Unfortunately, I only took full advantage of everything the school offered in my final year, but now I know that time passes very quickly and we must make the most of every opportunity given to us, because everything is a new learning experience that can benefit our future

My first week in college, the phrase I heard the most from my classmates was, “This is so different from school, I feel like I’m in a whole new world ” Honestly, I couldn’t relate less. While they described large lecture halls with professors speaking on stages and using microphones, I found myself remembering a completely different reality, one where teachers sat beside me, guided me through questions, and truly cared about my understanding of the topic lectured. In that moment, I realized how much my experience at Escola Concept had shaped not only the way I learn, but also who I have become as a lifelong learner.

journey

Throughout my journey at Escola Concept, I learned that education is not only about passing exams, but about building confidence, discovering strengths, and growing as an individual that impacts my community positively. Of course, academic success was always a goal of mine, but the path toward it felt less overwhelming because I was never alone during the journey. The close relationship I built with my teachers made every challenge more manageable and every achievement more meaningful.

Truthfully, there were countless moments when I doubted my own abilities. Times when I questioned whether I was capable enough or prepared enough to achieve my dreams Yet, even in those moments, my teachers believed in me before I could believe in myself Their support helped me stay grounded and focused, especially during the most demanding periods of my academic life, like Advanced Placement courses or national exams. Today, being able to say that I was admitted into one of the best universities in Bahia is not just a personal accomplishment, it is also a reflection of the encouragement and guidance I received throughout my school years.

Starting Grade 10 was one of the most challenging transitions I faced. I was overwhelmed by the idea of beginning again in a new environment, especially because school has always been a central part of my life However, that fear gradually transformed into growth I still remember a physics class during my Concept experience, when Mr. Ivan made a subject I once strongly disliked feel engaging and accessible. Even though physics continued to challenge me over the years, that experience showed me something much more important: my teachers were always willing to find new ways to make learning meaningful and to support me through difficulties.

Another important lesson I carry with me is the confidence to change direction when necessary. Throughout my time at Escola Concept, in the many projects I participated in, I learned that not everything needs to follow a fixed plan and that it is okay to rethink choices, adjust goals, and explore new paths Being in an environment that encouraged curiosity and self-reflection made me feel safe to question my decisions without the fear of failure and this lesson will follow me through the rest of my life.

Today, I feel much more secure in allowing myself to change routes when something no longer aligns with who I am or who I want to become. When I arrived at Concept, I wanted to study abroad and focus on international admissions. After working on building my curriculum solemnly for that purpose for a whole year, when I changed my mind in Grade 11, one year before graduation and the Brazilian high school national examination, my educators never made me feel behind schedule and helped me shift my focus to my new goal with ease. Instead of seeing change as a setback, I now understand that it is part of growth and it doesn’t need to be dealt with as the end of the world. This mindset has given me the courage to take risks, embrace uncertainty, and trust my own process, knowing that every new direction can lead to meaningful opportunities and personal development.

Looking back, I understand that the challenges I faced at Escola Concept were essential in shaping my resilience, independence, and confidence to navigate through life’s challenges. The skills I developed, such as critical thinking, communication, and perseverance, continue to influence the way I approach new experiences today, whether they were planned previously or a complete surprise. More than preparing me for exams or university, my school journey prepared me for life as a student, as a woman and as a leader And for that, I carry a deep sense of gratitude, knowing that those experiences will always be part of the person I am becoming.

GLOBAL CITIZEN DIPLOMA

global citizen diploma-up & NIS MUN 2025 CHINA

In 2025, six learners from Escola Concept traveled to China as part of the Global Citizenship Diploma engaging in a multi-city journey from Beijing to Xi’an, Nanjing, and concluding in Shanghai. Throughout the experience, learners participated in the GCD-Up, hosted at Nanjing International School, and in the NIS Model United Nations, connecting academic learning with real-world contexts through cultural exchange, global dialogue, and historical exploration Beyond the immediate experience, the journey opened doors to future opportunities, expanding students’ perspectives on universities across Asia and broadening their understanding of possible academic and professional pathways.

Within this context, the Global Citizenship Diploma continues to expand what learning looks like by connecting academic growth with real-world purpose. The program invites learners to explore who they are, what they stand for, and how they can contribute meaningfully to the world around them

Structured around core values and personalized pathways, the GCD allows each learner to build a journey that reflects both rigor and authenticity Through elements such as written reflections, oral presentations, and legacy projects, learners make their thinking visible and tangible. The focus extends beyond outcomes to the process itself, considering how learners question, connect, and take action.

The GCD-Up, the annual gathering that brings together students from all schools within the consortium, stood at the center of the 2025 global experience. More than an event, it functioned as a space where learners exchanged perspectives, presented their journeys, and engaged in shared inquiry on a global scale

Throughout the trip, each city offered a distinct lens, historical, cultural, and contemporary, supporting learners in building a more layered understanding of the world they are part of At the NIS Model United Nations, Escola Concept stood as the only school representing the Western Hemisphere, an experience that carried both responsibility and opportunity.

These moments created space for learners to navigate complexity, engage across cultures, and deepen their understanding of global challenges Visiting landmarks such as the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors further reinforced the importance of perspective in global citizenship. The Global Citizenship Diploma is built over time, beginning in earlier grades through experiences in arts, service learning, and field trips These elements play a critical role in documenting the learning process and making learning visible, ensuring that by the time learners reach the final stages of the diploma, they are building on years of intentional experiences.

As the Global Citizenship Diploma continues to grow, it remains grounded in a clear and powerful idea: learners are active participants in bringing learning to life - connecting their experiences to the world and recognizing their role within it.
