The 1st Festival of Learning of 2024 is here, a dynamic celebration of education and discovery is inspired by this year's theme, "Trying," from Kobi Yamada's inspiring book. This vibrant event offers a rich tapestry of interactive sessions and exhibitions designed to showcase our learners’ findings and share their project journeys with our community.

The festival allows us to delve deeper into the remarkable accomplishments of our learners, giving them the recognition and appreciation they truly deserve.

Este evento vibrante oferece uma rica variedade de sessões interativas e exposições projetadas para mostrar as descobertas de nossos estudantes e compartilhar suas jornadas de projeto com nossa comunidade.

ABOUT THE LEARNING JOURNEY Sobre a jornada de aprendizagem

Learners explored key questions such as designing sustainable transportation between Earth and the moon, addressing social and psychological challenges for lunar residents, integrating renewable energy into lunar infrastructure, fostering international collaboration, optimizing lunar habitats, and maximizing educational and cultural opportunities. This project enhanced their scientific inquiry, linguistic proficiency, critical thinking, teamwork, and physical fitness. They designed a sustainable future on the lunar surface.

Os estudantes exploraram questões-chave como projetar transporte sustentável entre a Terra e a lua, abordar desafios sociais e psicológicos para os residentes lunares, integrar energia renovável na infraestrutura lunar, fomentar a colaboração internacional, otimizar habitats lunares e maximizar oportunidades educacionais e culturais. Este projeto aprimorou suas habilidades de investigação científica, proficiência linguística, pensamento crítico, trabalho em equipe e preparo físico. Eles projetaram um futuro sustentável na superfície lunar.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FOL? Divided into groups, grade 6 learners tackled questions on transportation, sustainable energy, emotional safe space, sustainable habitat, and ways to get there. Their findings will be showcased through captivating arts and music performances at the Festival of Learning. Join us to witness their creative solutions and artistic expressions inspired by their lunar exploration.

Divididos em grupos, os estudantes do 6º ano abordaram questões sobre transporte, energia sustentável, espaço emocional seguro, habitat sustentável e formas de chegar lá. Suas descobertas serão apresentadas através de performances de artes e música no Festival de Aprendizagem. ABOUT THE LEARNING JOURNEY Sobre a jornada de aprendizagem

“Tomorrow's Voyage: Exploring Aerospace Security & Innovative Transit" is an interdisciplinary project by Grade 7 learners. This project aims to delve into the complexities and innovations in the field of transportation, focusing on aerospace security and the evolution of transit technologies. By integrating mathematics, sciences, social sciences, languages, arts, metacognition, and physical education, the project offers a holistic educational experience. Learners will explore everything from the environmental impact of fuels to the historical evolution of transportation, culminating in a vision for the future.

“A Viagem de Amanhã: Explorando a Segurança Aeroespacial e o Transporte Inovador” é um projeto interdisciplinar dos estudantes do 7º ano.

Este projeto tem como objetivo mergulhar nas complexidades e inovações no campo do transporte, com foco na segurança aeroespacial e na evolução das tecnologias de mobilidade urbana. Ao integrar matemática, ciências, ciências sociais, linguagens, artes, metacognição e educação física, o projeto oferece uma experiência educacional holística. WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE FOL? O quevai acontecer no FOL?

Join our Grade 7 learners and their parents for an exploration of innovative transportation! Learners will share research on autonomous vehicles, the history of transportation from Ancient Rome to now, and studies on proportions, biodiesel, and alternative fuels. The event concludes with a music presentation blending research with artistic performances.

ABOUT THE LEARNING JOURNEY Sobre a jornada de aprendizagem

"Future of Work" is an innovative Grade 8 project designed to investigate the intersection of science, technology, social studies, and language arts. This project aims to explore complex topics such as urbanization, the role of biotechnology in modern science, and the varying stages of country development. Through this project, learners will critically think about the future of cities, work-life balance, and the ethical implications of scientific advancements.

"Futuro do Trabalho" é um projeto inovador voltado para estudantes do 8º ano, desenhado para investigar a intersecção de ciências, tecnologia, ciências sociais e linguagem. O projeto tem como objetivo explorar temas complexos como urbanização, o papel da biotecnologia na ciência moderna e os diferentes estágios de desenvolvimento dos países. Através deste projeto, os estudantes irão pensar criticamente sobre o futuro das cidades, o equilíbrio entre vida pessoal e profissional e as implicações éticas dos avanços científicos.

O quevai acontecer no FOL?

Grade 8 learners are eager to showcase their research on the Futures of Work and its impact. They studied essential future skills, visited universities, and interviewed professionals. They explored the Middle Ages, "uberization" of work, Enlightenment, slopes in math, personalized medicine, DNA, social media history, and woodcut printmaking. Their English work included debates, and Spanish involved interviews.

Os estudantes do Grade 8 estão ansiosos para mostrar suas pesquisas sobre o Futuro do Trabalho e seu impacto. Eles estudaram habilidades essenciais, visitaram universidades e entrevistaram profissionais. Exploraram a Idade Média,

uberização do trabalho, Iluminismo, declives em matemática, medicina personalizada, DNA, história das redes sociais e xilogravura. Seus trabalhos em inglês incluíram debates, e em espanhol, entrevistas.
