LINOCUT PRINT

WORKSHOP Linoleum is good for more than kitchen floors.

Did you know that you can use it to create woodblock-style relief prints that produce vivid, moody silhouettes? So-called “linocut prints” defy all expectations of this classic flooring material, and draw the eye into a world where art and lighting rule supreme. If you’d like to create your own linocut print, then this workshop is for you! Come take our hands-on linocut class, where you will learn how to carve a pattern, sketch, or photo into a linoleum block. Be prepared to be blown away by just how easy it is to both carve your block and transfer your image onto paper.

If you’re curious about printing, or are simply fascinated by how linoleum can be used as an art medium, this class will answer all your questions! You’ll leave the experience not only with a greater understanding of the world of printing, but also with a beautiful stack of your very own linocut prints! Reuse your linoleum block to decorate tea towels, cards, boxes, and more! If you were unsure about what to gift your loved ones this holiday season, then you’ve just found your answer. Each participant will be sent four beautiful wooden ornaments, plus all the necessary materials to paint them as desired. Following step-by-step instructions, you will learn how to transform raw wood into exquisite pieces that will add a burst of color to your tree.

Enter our Paint Night, where we send you the supplies: paint, cards, brushes, and all, and you create the art, from the comfort of your home! Forget the struggle of finding the right store-bought holiday card; make your own cards instead that add a handcrafted touch to your gifts. Our professional artist will guide you step by step as you transform your blank cards into unique designs and patterns that scream “holiday joy.” Be sure to add your own flair to your work and let your creative brain do its thing! Our Holiday Paint Nite is available using both watercolor and acrylic paints, so you can choose the medium that best fits your style.

Learn the art of the knot at our virtual macramé class.

Together, we’ll create a woven masterpiece to fill out that empty wall you hate looking at.

Over the course of the workshop we’ll talk about types of ropes and knotting techniques, and will guide you in the process of building your piece. When you’re done, you will have learned the lark's head and hitch knots, and you’ll have a gorgeous 8-inch wall hanging ready for use! Curious about what goes into the chocolate that we all love so much? Grab your spot at Choc Full of Cheer, our chocolate bark workshop that will propel you into the most wonderful time of the year! This is your chance to learn all about what goes into making this classic holiday treat. Discover what distinguishes various chocolates, and uncover the secrets of confection creation.

Working under the instruction of our fabulous chef, you'll learn how to craft your own crunchy sheets of milk and white chocolate bark, with opportunities to mix up the flavors as you wish. Outfit your bark with colorful treats such as cinnamon, candy canes, almonds, pistachios and dried cranberries.

YUM! This will be the biggest hit at your holiday table (though we won't tell if you decide not to share). At the end of the 60 minutes, be sure to show off your treat to your fellow (virtual) attendees.

Our expert chef will lead your team as they discover a new love for cookie decorating not experienced since they were kids. Find your perfect balance of icing and cookie to get just the right taste with every bite! Our 60-minute cookie decorating workshop will add a delectable sweetness to your holiday season. When you're done, you won't be able to resist showing off your newly-found cookie decoration skills to the whole family. They'll be sure to savor the results.

Gather Round THE BOARD!

Nothing brings people together like a thoughtfully styled gathering board full of cheese and charcuterie. This holiday season, gather your loved ones around your own handmade board, crafted at our premiere workshop. This is an exciting chance to learn from the expertise of Ray Rumiano, a fourth-generation cheesemaker and co-owner of Rumiano Cheese Co., the oldest family-owned cheese company in California. The heart of the workshop will consist of detailed instruction on how to make a gorgeous gathering board pretty enough to be the centerpiece of both your holiday table and your Instagram page.

Who can make the ugliest sweater in 30 minutes? It’s a race to the depths of your closet in this fun, virtual experience designed to bring out the goof in everyone. Using materials you have around the house, as well as our specialized sweater kits received in the mail, you will utilize your artistic prowess (or lack thereof) to design and decorate sweaters. The tackier, the better! When the time’s up, it’s time to put on your new holiday attire and show everyone what true glamor is.

At the end, it all comes down to a group vote.

If your sweater is deemed the most horrific, then you win the competition, as well as the right to brag for the rest of the holiday season. We can even boost your experience with a special prize for the champion!

Gingerbread

HOUSE COMPETITION It’s time to create a gingerbread house that would make Hansel and Gretel envious.

Using classic gingerbread kits topped off with a few extra embellishments, you and your team will test the limits of your construction abilities as you build the gingerbread house that conquers all others.

Why stop at a house when you could build a gingerbread mansion? How about a pool full of icing? If your mouth isn’t watering yet, it will be once construction begins. We will either send kits to participants, or optimize the experience around everyone’s own kits.

If you’d like to add a prize for the winning team, we will make that happen. Rest assured, everyone will want their own gingerbread cottage in their backyard after this event.

The Spirit

OF COMPETITION Time to break out the classic holiday DVDs and books; it’s trivia hour! Refresh your memory and bring out your competitive side with our rewarding online trivia game. This seasonal twist on our classic game will challenge you to think back to your childhood and recall various factoids ranging from history to music to cultural customs still celebrated today. Our live host will separate you into random teams via Zoom breakout rooms, where you will work together to come up with correct answers and score points. The team with the most points at the end will receive a surprise early holiday gift.

At Home Mixology DIY INFUSED LIQUOR

Pique your taste buds as you learn to level up your holiday aperitifs. In this class, we’ll explore the art of infusing various spirits with tasty flavors to add a kick to your holiday punch. This class can be done either in person or virtually, and will be a hit either way! If you decide to gather everyone together, we'll bring the ingredients you need right to the event so you don’t have to worry about a thing! Attendees of our virtual format will receive their own kits of ingredients and supplies in the mail directly, so you can work comfortably from your own home.

Either way, you will work with Anarchy in a Jar founder Laena McCarthy who will show you all there is to know about the intricacies of infusion. By the end of the 60-minute workshop, you’ll have a bottle of your very own infused liquor that will be the perfect start to a tasting!
