SEPTEMBER
I
n this issue of TULIP, we celebrate that sense of discovery. For those who love discovering the city, we explore
Hyderabad's evolving café culture, where coffee has become much more than a beverage. From specialty brews and thoughtfully designed spaces to places made for conversations, work and simply slowing down, these new cafés reflect a city that continues to change while retaining its warmth. And when the city begins to feel a little too familiar, our Weekend Escapes Around Hyderabad offers the perfect excuse to get behind the wheel. From the green landscapes of Ananthagiri Hills to the history of Warangal and Ramappa, the waters of Nagarjuna Sagar, the forests of Srisailam and the heritage of Bidar and Lepakshi, these are journeys where the road itself becomes part of the experience. As the festive season approaches, fashion takes centre stage. Our Festive Forecast 2026 main cover story looks at a season where traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary silhouettes, richer textures and, most importantly, individual expression. Our jewellery feature continues that celebration, exploring how the right piece can become more than an accessory—it can become a reflection of personality. But this issue isn't only about looking good. It is also about feeling good. Our fitness conversations look beyond appearances and towards strength, consistency, mobility and the confidence that comes from becoming stronger. The ReYoganize philosophy beautifully captures this idea: fitness can become a way of living rather than simply another item on our daily checklist. In our wellness pages, we turn inward—to mindfulness, meditation and the connection between the mind and body. Sometimes wellness isn't about adding something more to our already busy lives; sometimes it is simply about learning to pause. And finally, we bring that same philosophy home with interiors that explore A Touch of India—a reminder that contemporary spaces need not lose their connection to heritage, craftsmanship and the stories that make a home feel personal. This issue is ultimately about living with intention—what we wear, where we go, what we eat and drink, how we move, how we rest, and the spaces we choose to surround ourselves with. So, as you turn these pages, I hope you discover something that inspires you—a new café to visit, a road to take, a style to try, a healthier habit to embrace or simply a moment to slow down and enjoy. Here’s to a September filled with discovery, celebration and a little more time for ourselves. Happy reading.

SHUBHANGI SONI Shubhangi is a digital creator and model known for her distinctive blend of fashion, beauty and lifestyle content. With a style that is feminine, confident and effortlessly relatable, she has built a growing presence by bringing her personality and creativity to everything she does.
What does a typical day in Shubhangi’s life look like? There’s honestly no such thing as a typical day in my life, which is what I love about it. Some days I’m shooting content, attending events or taking work meetings, and other days I’m just catching up on editing, planning and working in office. But I always try to make time for the gym, good food and a little bit of doing nothing too. Balance is a work in progress!
08 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
LIFESTYLE I Social media can often look glamorous from the outside. What is one thing about being a creator that people don't usually see? The amount of work that happens after the camera stops rolling. People see a 30-second reel, but not the planning, multiple takes, editing, revisions, emails and sometimes reshooting everything because you didn’t like one tiny detail. It’s definitely fun and glamorous at times, but it’s also a struggle. How did your journey as a digital creator begin? Was creating content always something you wanted to pursue, or did it happen along the way? It definitely happened along the way. I’ve always enjoyed fashion, beauty and being creative, but I didn’t start out thinking, “I’m going to become a digital creator.” I started sharing things I genuinely enjoyed, and slowly people started connecting with my content. Over time, it became something much bigger and now I can’t imagine not doing it. Tell us how you got into modelling? Modelling was something I always found exciting. I started getting opportunities from college, taking up shoots and putting myself out there, and gradually it became a bigger part of my life. I think modeling also helped me become more confident and comfortable in front of the camera, which eventually blended really well with content creation. TULIP SEPT, 2026 09
I LIFESTYLE Your content covers different aspects of lifestyle, fashion and beauty. How would you describe your personal style and the kind of content that feels most “you”? I’d describe my style as feminine, confident and a little experimental. I love dressing up, but I also love making things feel effortless rather than overly perfect. The content that feels most me is probably when fashion, beauty and my actual personality come together, always aesthetically pleasing but still fun and relatable.
What has been your most memorable moment or collaboration since you started creating content? Honestly, there have been quite a few moments that made me stop and think, wow, this is actually my job. But the most memorable ones are usually the collaborations where I get to work with brands or people I’ve genuinely admired. It’s always surreal when something you once only dreamed about becomes part of your everyday life. 10 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
With trends changing almost every day, how do you decide which trends to follow and which ones to make your own? I don’t believe in following every trend just because everyone else is doing it. If I can see myself genuinely wearing it, trying it or putting my own personality into it, then I’ll do it. Otherwise, I’m happy to sit that trend out. Not every trend needs to become a personality trait.
LIFESTYLE I How do you handle the pressure of constantly creating, staying relevant and keeping up with social media? I think the pressure is definitely real because social media moves so fast. But I’ve learned that constantly chasing relevance can actually make you lose your own voice. I try to stay aware of what’s happening, without feeling like I need to jump on everything. Sometimes taking a step back actually helps me come back with better ideas. What inspires you when you feel creatively stuck? Is there someone or something that always manages to motivate you? When I’m creatively stuck, I actually stop forcing it. I’ll go out, travel, watch people, talk to friends, scroll for inspiration, look through Pinterest or just do something completely unrelated to content. A lot of my best ideas come when I’m not actively trying to find one. And honestly, seeing how far I’ve come also motivates me to keep going.
Where do you see yourself five years from now? Is there a dream project, collaboration or new direction you'd love to explore? Hopefully doing everything I’m doing now, but on a much bigger scale. I’d love to work on projects that allow me to be creative beyond just social media , maybe building a brand of my own. And of course, I’d love to work with some dream global brands. The goal is to keep evolving and not put myself in one box. TULIP SEPT, 2026 11
I LIFESTYLE
Rapid Fire If you were left in a supermarket and could pick only three things, what would you pick? Protein snacks, skincare and Maggi Coffee or chai? Coffee. Always. Heels or sneakers? Sneakers One fashion trend you absolutely love right now? Bridal Sneakers. I don’t think I’m ever getting over them. One trend you wish would disappear? Whatever trend I have hated, I started loving them at the end. So none If you could wake up tomorrow with one new talent, what would it be? Maybe the one where we put potato in and get gold from otherside Your ultimate comfort food? Sushi and Ghee daal chawal

Weekend Escapes Around Hyderabad Six places to drive to when you need a little break from the city There are weekends when all you want to do is sleep in, order your favourite food and stay home. And then there are those weekends when Hyderabad starts feeling a little too familiar and you suddenly want to get out. You don't necessarily need a flight, a five-day leave or a perfectly planned holiday for that. Sometimes, all you need is a full tank of petrol, a good playlist, a few people you enjoy travelling with and a destination that is just far enough from the city. September is actually one of my favourite times to plan these little escapes. The harsh summer has finally eased, the rains have started changing the landscape and everything outside the city feels a little greener. There is something particularly nice about driving out of Hyderabad during this time of the year — watching the city slowly disappear in the rear-view mirror and the open roads take over. From forestcovered hills and beautiful temples to forts, lakes and quiet little towns, there is quite a lot to explore within a few hours of Hyderabad. So, if you're wondering where to head this September, here are a few places I'd put on the list.

I TRAVEL
Ananthagiri Hills
The easy escape when you don't want to travel too far Distance: Around 80 km from Hyderabad If you have only one free weekend and don't want to spend most of it travelling, Ananthagiri Hills is probably your best bet. Located near Vikarabad, it is one of those places that feels surprisingly far removed from Hyderabad even though it isn't. The drive itself is half the fun. As you get closer to the hills, the traffic starts thinning out, the roads become quieter and the landscape slowly turns green. September makes it even better. The monsoon gives the hills a fresh, almost dreamy look, and if you get there early enough, you might even catch a little mist along the way.
14 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
TRAVEL I
What can you do there? Start with a slow drive through the forest roads. If you're someone who enjoys getting out of the car and exploring, there are walking and trekking trails around the hills. You can also visit the Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, stop for breakfast or chai somewhere along the way and spend a few hours simply enjoying the surroundings. If you're travelling with friends, pack some snacks and make a small picnic out of it. If you're travelling as a couple, find a quiet viewpoint, put the phones away for a while and just enjoy the weather. And if you're travelling with family, there are plenty of resorts around the area where you can spend the afternoon without having to follow a packed itinerary.
Why go in September? Because this is when Ananthagiri is at its greenest. The weather is cooler, the landscape is beautiful and you don't have to plan too much.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 15
I TRAVEL
For the weekend when you want a little history with your road trip. Distance: Around 150–200 km from Hyderabad
Not every getaway has to be about resorts and nature. Sometimes, it is nice to spend a weekend actually discovering something. Warangal is perfect for that. The city and its surroundings are full of reminders of the Kakatiya dynasty, and if you're interested in architecture, history or photography, you'll find yourself stopping every few minutes to look at something. Start with Warangal Fort. The enormous stone gateways and ruins give you a sense of how impressive the city must have been centuries ago. It is also a lovely place to walk around without feeling like you're being rushed from one attraction to another.
16 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
Warangal & Ramappa
TRAVEL I
Then there is the Thousand Pillar Temple, which is another must-visit. But if you have the time, don't stop at Warangal. Drive towards Ramappa Temple, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and easily one of the highlights of the trip. The craftsmanship is incredible, and the sculptures and details on the temple are the sort of things you really need to see in person. If you have another half-day to spare, add Pakhal Lake to your plans. After spending hours looking at stone architecture, sitting near a lake surrounded by greenery is a pretty nice way to end the day.
Why go in September? The monsoon adds a lovely contrast to the old stone structures. Everything around the temples looks greener, and the weather makes walking around much more pleasant.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 17
I TRAVEL
Nagarjuna Sagar
For when you just want to be near the water Distance: Around 150–165 km from Hyderabad There is something about being near a huge body of water that instantly makes a weekend feel like a holiday. Nagarjuna Sagar is one of those places where you don't have to do too much. You can explore the sights, spend some time by the reservoir, take a long drive and just enjoy being away from the usual city routine. The Nagarjuna Sagar Dam is the obvious place to begin. The sheer scale of the reservoir is impressive, and the views become especially beautiful when the surrounding landscape is green after the rains.
18 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
TRAVEL I
For those who enjoy history, Nagarjunakonda is worth exploring. The region has an important Buddhist and archaeological history, so there is plenty to discover beyond the usual sightseeing. And then there is Ethipothala Falls. If you've been waiting for the monsoon to see a waterfall, this is one to consider. Do check the weather and local conditions before you go, though, as rain can affect access and boating activities.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 19
I TRAVEL
Srisailam For the road trip that is as beautiful as the destination Distance: Around 215 km from Hyderabad If someone told me I had to pick one destination purely for the drive, Srisailam would be very high on the list. The route towards Srisailam takes you through the Nallamala hills, and the landscape gradually changes from busy city roads to winding forest stretches. During the monsoon, the greenery makes the drive even more beautiful. And once you get there, you have the perfect combination of spirituality and nature. The Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple is naturally one of the main attractions. Whether you're travelling for religious reasons or simply want to experience the history and atmosphere of the place, it is worth spending some time here rather than rushing through.
20 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
TRAVEL I
You can also visit Srisailam Dam, explore the viewpoints and spend time around the forested surroundings. The best advice I can give for Srisailam is simple: don't try to do everything. This is one of those trips where the drive, the views and the little stops along the way are just as important as the destination.
Why go in September? The Nallamala landscape comes alive during the rainy season. The greenery, cloudy skies and winding roads make the journey incredibly scenic. If you're driving through forest areas, follow local rules, especially regarding timings and wildlife zones.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 21
I TRAVEL
Bidar
For something a little different Distance: Around 140 km from Hyderabad If you've already done Ananthagiri, Nagarjuna Sagar and the usual Hyderabad weekend trips, perhaps it is time to go somewhere a little different. Bidar is one of those places that doesn't get talked about enough. Just across the Karnataka border, the town is filled with history, old architecture and quiet corners that make it particularly interesting for a relaxed weekend. The first stop should be Bidar Fort. The fort is huge, atmospheric and full of old gateways, walls and structures that make you want to wander around without a fixed route. If you enjoy photography, you'll probably find yourself spending more time here than you expected.
22 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
TRAVEL I
The Bahmani tombs are another beautiful stop and offer a glimpse into the region's history. And don't leave without trying some local food. One of my favourite things about travelling to places like Bidar is discovering what people eat locally — sometimes that becomes as memorable as the sightseeing itself.
Why go in September? The weather is generally more comfortable than the peak summer months, and the occasional rain gives the old stone structures a beautiful, slightly dramatic backdrop. Perfect for: A group of friends who want a road trip that feels a little more offbeat.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 23
I TRAVEL
For beautiful architecture and a slower kind of day Distance: Around 200 km from Hyderabad Lepakshi is for those weekends when you want to see something beautiful without needing a long list of activities. The main attraction is the Veerabhadra Temple, and honestly, you could spend hours just looking at the details. The temple is known for its intricate sculptures, pillars and paintings, and there is something new to notice everywhere you look.
24 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
Lepakshi
TRAVEL I
One of the most famous features is the hanging pillar, which has become something of a signature attraction. Then there is the enormous Nandi sculpture outside the temple, which is worth stopping for before you leave. But what makes Lepakshi enjoyable is that it doesn't feel like a rushed tourist destination. You can walk around, take photographs, listen to the stories associated with the temple and simply appreciate the architecture.
Why go in September? The weather makes the drive much more pleasant than it would be during the hotter months, and the cloudy skies can make the ancient architecture look even more striking.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 25
I TRAVEL
Before You Hit the Road September weather can be unpredictable, so a little preparation goes a long way. Carry a light rain jacket or umbrella, comfortable shoes and a waterproof bag for your phone and camera. If you're planning to visit waterfalls or forest areas, check the weather and local conditions before leaving. And please don't underestimate the importance of starting early. A 6 a.m. start may sound painful when you're setting the alarm, but once you're on an empty road with a cup of coffee in hand and the city waking up behind you, you'll be glad you did. Most importantly, don't make your itinerary too ambitious. Leave room for the unexpected — a roadside tea stall, a beautiful view, a local restaurant someone recommends or a random turn that leads you somewhere you weren't planning to go. Those are usually the moments you remember.
Sometimes, You Just Need to Leave We spend so much of our time waiting for the right time to take a break. After this project. After that deadline. After the next busy week. But a weekend doesn't have to be earned. Sometimes, all you need is two free days and a reason to get out of the city. September is a particularly good time to do it. The roads are calling, the countryside is turning green and there are plenty of places waiting just a few hours away. So pick a destination, call your favourite people, make a playlist and start driving. You may come back with photographs, stories and a little bit of mud on your shoes. And honestly, that's not a bad way to spend a weekend.

WHAT'S
? G N I BREW NEW COFFEE PLACES BREWING A NEW HYDERABAD
Hyderabad has always had a strong café culture, but 2026 has brought a new energy to the city's coffee scene. The latest cafés are no longer simply places to grab a cappuccino and leave. They are becoming destinations in themselves — bringing together specialty coffee, thoughtful interiors, artisanal food, community, design and experiences worth lingering over. From a 12,000-square-foot coffee universe overlooking Durgam Cheruvu to an outdoor café built around Gandipet's natural landscape, here are 10 newer coffee destinations giving Hyderabad plenty of reasons to slow down and stay a little longer. - Aniksha R TULIP SEPT, 2026 27
I SPECIAL
NAAD
COFFEE
DURGAM CHERUVU
Naad is less a café and more an entire world built around coffee. Spread across approximately 12,000 square feet, this new destination brings together a café, open roastery, bakery, bistro, retail space, library and coffee academy. What makes Naad particularly interesting is its focus on Indian coffee. Beans from different parts of the Western and Eastern Ghats take centre stage, while the menu experiments with everything from manual brews and Kyoto-style cold drip to coffee sangria, espresso tonics and cascarabased kombucha.
Location: Ground & First Floor, R Quad, before NCC Building, Durgam Cheruvu Road, Hyderabad – 500081. 28 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
The interiors balance warm wood, earthy tones and large windows overlooking the Durgam Cheruvu area, creating a space that feels sophisticated without losing its sense of warmth.
SPECIAL I
Tucked away in the leafy lanes of Jubilee Hills, Chilaka Coffee is one of Hyderabad's newest cafés and one that feels refreshingly personal. Opened in July 2026, the café has quickly caught attention for its aesthetic, cosy character and coffee-forward approach. The space takes cues from a rustic, almost village-inspired aesthetic, bringing together warm textures, greenery and intimate corners. A small library adds to the feeling that this is a place designed for lingering rather than rushing through a takeaway coffee.
CHILAKA COFFEE JUBILEE HILLS
Coffee remains at the heart of Chilaka. The café is building a dedicated specialty-coffee programme, with its search for a Head Barista specifically highlighting espresso, brewing methods and coffee calibration. What makes Chilaka particularly appealing is its balance. It doesn't feel overly polished or corporate; instead, there is a homely quality that makes it easy to imagine spending a quiet morning here with a book, meeting a friend over coffee or simply escaping the bustle of Jubilee Hills. For a lifestyle magazine, Chilaka offers plenty to photograph — from its rustic details and greenery to its intimate seating and carefully prepared cups of coffee.
Location: Plot 823, Road No. 41, CBI Colony, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad – 500033.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 29
I SPECIAL
ORANGERY CAFÉ FILM NAGAR
Orangery is designed around a simple idea: creating a peaceful escape within the city. Described as a sanctuary inspired by nature and the comfort of home, the café focuses on soft, cosy corners and an intentionally relaxed atmosphere. The menu covers coffee, continental food and bakery offerings, making it a natural choice for a slow breakfast or an afternoon coffee break.
Location: House No. 34, Ground Floor, Kusp 2.0 Building, Film Nagar, Hyderabad. 30 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
Visually, Orangery has the kind of intimate character that photographs beautifully — less about dramatic interiors and more about small details, warm corners and a feeling of being tucked away from the city's pace.
SPECIAL I
Hoshi takes a more minimalist approach to the modern Hyderabad café. Its design draws on Japanese aesthetics, with clean lines, considered details, warm materials and a calm indooroutdoor layout.
HOSHI MADHAPUR
At the centre is its specialty coffee programme, built around singleorigin beans and careful extraction. But Hoshi isn't trying to be overly serious about coffee — its menu also embraces matcha, teas and flavours such as banana, pineapple and black sesame. The stepped seating, glassfronted coffee bar and landscaped outdoor areas make it one of the more visually distinctive additions to Madhapur's café circuit.
Location: Road No. 11, Kakatiya Hills, Madhapur, Hyderabad – 500081.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 31
I SPECIAL
KISSA COFFEE HOUSE JUBILEE HILLS
Kissa Coffee House opened in early 2026 with the idea of creating a neighbourhood café where coffee and conversation go hand in hand. The name itself comes from the Hindi word kissa, meaning a story or anecdote. Housed in a converted bungalow, Kissa has a warm, residential character that immediately sets it apart from the polished commercial café format. Its menu includes specialty coffee sourced from Chikmagalur, alongside dishes that mix Indian influences with global café favourites.
Location: House No. 347, Road No. 22, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad – 500033.
32 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
The café's Strawberry Spanish Latte has emerged as one of its signatures, while its cosy rooms, garden seating and workfriendly atmosphere make it an easy place to spend a few hours.
SPECIAL I
Blue Tokai's Origins format goes considerably deeper into coffee than the typical café experience. The new Banjara Hills location, launched in 2026, is the brand's second Origins flagship in Hyderabad.
BLUE TOKAI ORIGINS BANJARA HILLS
The space is built around Indian micro-lot coffees, different brewing techniques and chef-curated food. Rather than treating coffee simply as a beverage, Origins encourages visitors to understand the estates, regions and characteristics behind what is in the cup. For coffee enthusiasts, it offers an opportunity to explore rare Indian coffees and different brewing styles. For everyone else, its modern interiors and relaxed atmosphere make it an inviting new addition to Banjara Hills.
Location: Shop 1, Ground Mezzanine Floor, 8-2-293/82/L/249/A, MLA Colony, Road 12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. TULIP SEPT, 2026 33
I SPECIAL
THE KOP
SPECIALTY COFFEE GANDIPET
The Kop is perhaps one of the most unusual additions to Hyderabad's café landscape. Instead of creating an indoor café and bringing nature inside, the founders have chosen to build the experience around Gandipet's existing landscape. The café is entirely outdoors, with natural boulders, greenery and open-air seating forming much of its character. A circular conversation pit is one of its defining design elements, reinforcing the idea that the space is as much about community and conversation as it is about coffee.
Location: Gandipet, Hyderabad. 34 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
The result is deliberately understated. There are no grand interiors competing for attention — instead, the landscape becomes the backdrop.
SPECIAL I
Katha's newer Knowledge City location brings the brand's specialty-coffee concept into one of Hyderabad's busiest work districts. The café combines coffee and baking with a more communitydriven approach, including spaces designed for conversations and work.
KATHA COFFEE & BAKEHOUSE KNOWLEDGE CITY, MADHAPUR
The Knowledge City outlet has an amphitheatrestyle seating arrangement and large windows that bring plenty of natural light into the space. It also positions itself as a specialty coffee and vinyllistening destination, adding another layer to the café experience. For professionals in and around HITEC City and Madhapur, it offers something between a traditional café and a social workspace.
Location: Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City, Plot No. 2, Knowledge City Road, Phase 1, Hyderabad – 500032. TULIP SEPT, 2026 35

24 ROOTS KOKAPET
What happens when a coffee shop becomes a playground? 24 Roots is one of Hyderabad’s newest spaces to experiment with exactly that idea. Located in Kokapet, this multilevel coffee destination brings together specialty coffee, food, workspaces and even pickleball under one roof. The café features a dedicated slow bar for coffee enthusiasts, a communal room designed for working and socialising, British-style bakes and actual pickleball courts. It is this combination that makes 24 Roots particularly interesting for Hyderabad’s evolving café culture. You can begin with a carefully prepared pour-over, settle down with your laptop, meet friends for lunch and then step onto the pickleball court — all without leaving the space.
Location: Ground Floor, Sy. No. 166/3, 8-26/1, near Ocean Park, Kokapet, Hyderabad – 500075. 36 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
The menu moves beyond predictable café fare too, with offerings such as the Jag Shakerato, Old Delhi sandwich and Sheesh Taouk, alongside its coffee and bakery selection. 24 Roots has a youthful, contemporary character, with different areas designed to serve different moods. Rather than creating one Instagrammable corner, it offers an entire experience that photographs differently depending on where you sit.
SPECIAL I
Hyderabad’s coffee scene received one of its biggest new additions in August 2026 with the arrival of Starbucks Reserve®, marking the brand’s first Reserve store in South India and its sixth Reserve location in India. But this isn’t simply another Starbucks outlet.
STARBUCKS RESERVE® JUBILEE HILLS
The Reserve coffeehouse is housed inside a beautifully restored bungalow in Jubilee Hills, with a white façade, expansive verandas, large windows and lush greenery. The architecture takes inspiration from the timeless character of Jubilee Hills, creating an environment that feels more like a destination than a conventional coffee shop. Inside, the focus shifts towards the craft of coffee. Guests can explore small-lot Starbucks Reserve coffees from different coffee-growing regions around the world, with specialised brewing methods designed to highlight the individual character of each bean. The food and beverage menu also gets a Reserve makeover, with Danish pastries, croissant sandwiches and sourdough toasts alongside exclusive zero-proof creations such as Jamaican Stardust, Espresso Martini, Ube Cold Brew and Ube Martini. The space is also pet-friendly, making it an inviting destination for Hyderabad’s growing community of coffee lovers and pet parents. Starbucks Reserve is particularly compelling because it sits at the intersection of coffee, architecture, design and experience. It is not just about what’s in the cup — it is about where you drink it and how the entire experience makes you feel.

Opinions: HUNAR LODHA MBA student You know what I love about Hyderabad? The coffee culture here just... hits different. Not in a fancy, Instagram-caption kind of way — more like, people actually slow down here. You sit at a cafe in Jubilee Hills or Banjara Hills, and nobody's checking their phone every two minutes or rushing to catch the next thing. It's such a contrast to Mumbai, where even a "quick coffee" somehow turns into a standand-gulp situation between meetings. Here, coffee is the excuse to just be with people. Your cousin wants to catch up? Coffee. First date? Coffee, obviously. Even random Tuesday evenings with friends turn into two-hour conversations over filter kaapi, because nobody's in a hurry to leave. And honestly, that's the vibe — everyone's in their "zen mode," just existing, laughing, overthinking life choices, whatever. Most days I'm a black coffee person, no fuss, just gets the job done. But every now and then I'll order some ridiculously specific specialty latte because the barista's clearly put effort into it, and it feels like a little treat. The city's specialty coffee scene has actually gotten really good — proper single-origin beans, people who genuinely care about the pour. What gets me is how a simple cup of coffee becomes this whole moment here. Not rushed, not performative. Just people, coffee, and time well spent. And honestly? That's rare to find these days.

SPECIAL I
Opinions: SONALI RACHAMALLA Operations Manager I'm really enjoying Hyderabad's café culture. There’s always a new spot to explore, each with it's own vibe, great coffee and interesting people. Whether it's catching up with friends, getting some work done or simply people-watching with a good playlist in the background, I absolutely enjoy cafes. My coffee order is usually an Americano because I enjoying the taste of coffee without too many distractions. In the afternoons and evenings, I most likely go for an iced Americano and a hint of vanilla or hazelnut, though I'm always tempted by a fun seasonal special or an interesting new drink on the menu. One thing I feel Hyderabad could use more of is cozy, neighborhood-style cafés with unique coffee experiences, and a stronger focus on specialty brews. While the city has some fantastic cafés, I'd love to see more places that encourage slowing down, lingering over coffee, and building a sense of community around the café experience.
ASHRITHA R Executive- HR I lived in Hyderabad for many years before leaving the city just before COVID. Back then, I remember Hyderabad as more of a chai-and-bun-maska kind of city, where Irani chai and traditional cafés were an integral part of its food culture. Cut to today, after moving back to the city, and I have discovered a completely different side of Hyderabad. The city has gradually evolved into a coffee-loving. It is a fascinating contrast to the Hyderabad I remember from years ago. Over the years, numerous new coffee places have emerged across the city, offering much more than just a cup of coffee. From beautifully designed interiors to cosy corners perfect for conversations, work or simply unwinding, these cafés have turned coffee into an experience in itself. Personally, I prefer my coffee with milk, whether it is a classic cold coffee or a comforting latte. Among the places I have tried, True Black and Mikro stand out as my favourites for cold coffee. What I particularly enjoy about their coffee is the balance: the coffee essence is strong enough to come through, while there is just enough sweetness to make it enjoyable. I also love the thick, rich and filling texture, which is exactly how I like my coffee. For someone who remembers Hyderabad primarily as a chai-and-bun-maska city, witnessing this transformation has been quite exciting. The city's love for coffee may be relatively new compared to its long-standing chai culture, but it certainly feels like coffee has found its own place in Hyderabad.

THE SEASON OF ELEGANCE BEGINS
FESTIVE FASHION
Forecast 2026
INFLUENCER STYLE EDIT September marks the beginning of that magical stretch of the year when wardrobes slowly give way to colour, celebration and a little extra sparkle. As the festive season approaches, 2026 is all about effortless elegance—where timeless Indian craftsmanship meets contemporary silhouettes and a distinctly personal sense of style. This year, festive fashion is moving beyond predictable reds and golds, with jewel tones, soft pastels, earthy neutrals, rich metallics and unexpected pops of colour taking centre stage. From classic sarees, kurtas and sherwanis to lehengas, anarkalis, bandhgalas, shararas and contemporary co-ords, traditional silhouettes are being reimagined through relaxed tailoring, modern drapes, statement layers and unexpected pairings. The result is festive dressing that feels rooted in culture while remaining effortlessly current.
Accessories are following the same philosophy: statement pieces are back, but with a more curated approach. Think sculptural jewellery, layered necklaces, statement earrings, traditional gold, pearls, polki, contemporary brooches, embellished footwear and distinctive watches. Fabrics such as silk, organza, velvet, brocade, linen and handwoven textiles add richness and texture, while sustainable choices are becoming an increasingly important part of festive wardrobes. Heirloom pieces, handloom fabrics, thoughtfully made garments, upcycled fashion and versatile separates allow us to celebrate in style while making more conscious choices.
The real fashion statement this festive season, however, is individuality. Rather than following trends from head to toe, 2026 encourages everyone to choose the elements that genuinely speak to them—a striking colour, a treasured piece of jewellery, an unexpected silhouette, a beautiful fabric or even a traditional garment styled in an entirely new way. Whether you're dressing for an intimate family celebration, a glamorous Diwali evening, a festive gathering or a wedding, this season is about expressing your personality while celebrating the richness of Indian fashion. After all, the best festive look isn't simply the one that follows a trend —it is the one that feels unmistakably you.

What festive fashion trend are you most excited to wear this season, and how would you style it your way? I’m honestly most excited for Dussehra this year, especially the whole nine-day festive vibe. I’d love to do a nine-day series with a different Navratri-inspired look each day, playing around with colours and traditional pieces, but giving them my own modern, everyday twist.
Which traditional festive piece do you think deserves a modern revival, and what would you pair it with? I think the traditional angavastram deserves a modern revival. I’d style it with a crisp kurta or even a contemporary shirt and trousers, something that keeps the cultural element but makes it feel very current.
If you could choose just one statement element— colour, jewellery, fabric, or silhouette—to define your festive look this year, what would it be and why? Jewellery, definitely. I used to think colour was the one thing that defined a festive look, but after seeing how much jewellery has evolved, I feel it can completely transform an outfit. Even with men’s festive wear, the right chain, earrings or statement piece can elevate a simple look and make it feel intentional.

Which traditional festive piece do you think deserves a modern revival, and what would you pair it with? I think the classic saree will always deserve a modern revival. It’s timeless but there are so many ways to make it feel completely different today. I’d pair a traditional saree with a structured or contemporary blouse, statement earrings. I also love the idea of experimenting fabrics and unexpected blouse silhouettes while keeping the saree itself elegant.
If you could choose just one statement element—colour, jewellery, fabric, or silhouette—to define your festive look this year, what would it be and why? Definitely colour. A beautiful colour can completely transform a festive look and even set the mood for the entire occasion. I’m drawn to deep, luxurious shads. COVER STORY I What festive fashion trend are you most excited to wear this season, and how would you style it your way? I’m most excited about the mix of traditional and modern fashion this festive season. I love how you can take something as classic as a kurta and make it feel contemporary just by changing the way you style it. I’d probably go for a well-fitted, simple kurta with straight or relaxed trousers, minimal jewellery and a good pair of loafers or traditional footwear. For me, festive dressing doesn’t always have to be heavy or overdone—it’s about finding that balance where the outfit feels comfortable, effortless and still has a festive touch.
Which traditional festive piece do you think deserves a modern revival, and what would you pair it with? I think traditional silk kurtas definitely deserve a modern revival. Silk has such a rich and timeless feel to it, but I’d love to see it styled in a way that feels more relevant today. I’d pair a silk kurta with straight-fit trousers, classic loafers and very minimal accessories. The idea would be to let the fabric and the silhouette do most of the talking, rather than adding too many elements. It keeps the traditional essence intact while giving it a much more contemporary and effortless feel.
If you could choose just one statement element—colour, jewellery, fabric, or silhouette—to define your festive look this year, what would it be and why? I’d choose colour. I feel a strong, bold colour can completely transform a simple outfit and instantly give it a festive character. You don’t necessarily need heavy embroidery or a lot of accessories when the colour itself makes a statement. This year, I’d love to experiment with rich, festive shades and keep the rest of the look relatively understated. For me, that makes the outfit feel confident and celebratory without looking like I’ve tried too hard.

We speak to her about her fitness journey, the power of yoga and strength, and her vision for creating a stronger, more connected fitness community in Hyderabad.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 59
I WELLNESS
Q. Strength training has become increasingly popular, especially among women. Why do you believe building strength is so important for overall health and confidence? Strength training to me is one of the most direct ways to build confidence that isn't dependent on how you look. There's something about nailing a pull-up or push up that teaches your body and your mind that you're capable of more than you thought. And again hat carries into everything else in life. Honestly, the discipline it takes to show up and progressively get stronger week over week is the same discipline that shows up in how you handle stress, deadlines, hard days.
Q. What does fitness mean to you personally, and how has your own fitness journey shaped the philosophy behind ReYoganize? Fitness to me was never about how I look. It’s always been a mode to apply discipline and endurance, to keep getting better at something and to let that spill into everything else I do in life. The energy I bring to a hard workout is the same energy I carry through the rest of my day and that stopped being just a habit a long time ago and became a way of living. ReYoganize is simply the medium I use to pass that on. It's a way to hold up that same mirror for other people through a lens that's fun and contemporary. And Yoga was the foundation of all of it for me. It's where this outlook actually started and I've watched it transcend into every fitness regime I've picked up since — running, strength, calisthenics, all of it. That's why yoga sits right there in the name. I've lived through this shift myself and I've seen firsthand what it does to your entire outlook on life and because it really doesn't take much. One small change in how you move can start to reorganize your entire life. That's the name, really — re, organize, reyoganize.
60 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
For women specifically, I think this shift has been so overdue. We were sold cardio and "toning" for decades while anything that actually built strength got framed as something that would make us bulky or masculine, which was never true. Real strength protects your joints, your bones, your metabolism as you ageit's one of the best things you can do for long-term health, not just how you look right now. And there's a very real independence that comes with it too. Something as simple as lifting your own bag at the airport instead of waiting for someone to help you. You don't realize how much you've been outsourcing your own strength until you don't have to anymore. It changes how you carry yourself in daily life, not just in workouts — how you negotiate, how you set boundaries, how you show up. That's the confidence piece. It was never really about the muscle. It's about what building proves you can do on your own without needing anyone else to do it for you.
WELLNESS I
Q. Yoga is often associated with flexibility, but it can also develop strength, balance and stability. How do you see yoga fitting into a complete fitness routine? Yoga is often reduced to flexibility, but it’s really about strength, stability, control and body awareness. For me, yoga has always been the foundation for everything else —from running and calisthenics to endurance and hybrid training.I see yoga not as a separate “flexibility day,” but as the thread connecting all forms of fitness. It teaches you to control your body, breathe through discomfort, stay mobile and recover better. That’s also the philosophy behind ReYoganize —yoga isn’t separate from training; it’s the foundation that makes everything else possible.
Q. You bring together different forms of movement such as yoga, strength, swimming and calisthenics. Why was it important for you to create such a diverse approach to fitness? I never set out to be "diverse" for the sake of it, it happened because I kept noticing that no single form of movement gave me everything I needed. Yoga built my control, breath, and body awareness. Strength work gave me raw capability and resilience. Swimming taught me a completely different relationship with endurance and breath under a totally different kind of resistance. Calisthenics pushed me to keep progressing and mastering my own bodyweight in new ways. Each one exposed a gap the others couldn't fill, so bringing them together wasn't a strategy, it was just what my body actually needed to keep growing. That's also exactly why ReYoganize doesn't stick to one format. Real fitness isn't one-dimensional, so why should training be? Mixing yoga with strength, running, and calisthenics keeps the body adaptable instead of just good at one narrow thing and honestly it keeps training fun and unpredictable instead of repetitive. That diversity is the whole point. it mirrors how life actually is — it demands different kinds of strength from you at different times, so your training should build all of it, not just one piece.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 61
I WELLNESS
How can people balance strength training and yoga to improve mobility, recovery and longterm physical performance? I don't think of strength training and yoga as two separate things competing for time. I think of them as two sides of the same practice. strength is what you build and yoga is what lets you actually use and sustain what you've built. If all you do is strength work, you get powerful but stiff and eventually that stiffness catches up with you as tightness, imbalance or injury. If all you do is yoga, you get mobile but you're missing the raw capability to handle real load. The two need each other.
For someone who is starting their fitness journey from zero, what would you recommend they focus on first—strength, mobility, endurance, consistency or something else? Honestly, I’d put consistency before everything else. Strength, mobility and endurance are important, but none of them matter if you can’t sustain them. Instead of trying to change everything at once, the first goal should simply be to show up regularly—even if the workout is small. That’s what turns exercise into a lifestyle rather than a short-term goal. Once that habit is established, I’d focus on mobility and basic bodyweight strength before chasing heavy weights or intense endurance. Learn to move well, build control and let strength and endurance develop gradually. That’s the approach I followed myself, starting with yoga and bodyweight work. Start small, stay consistent and let your body earn the next level.
62 SEPT, 2026 TULIP
Practically, I'd say don't treat yoga as an occasional stretch session you do when you're sore — build it into the week the same way you'd build in a strength day. A few sessions of strength work, balanced with dedicated yoga sessions for mobility and control and then let recovery happen through the yoga rather than through doing nothing. Yoga after a hard training day helps you actually absorb the work you just did instead of just letting fatigue sit in your body. Over the long run, that balance is what protects you — strength gives you the performance, yoga gives you the longevity to keep performing. One builds the engine, the other makes sure the engine doesn't break down.
WELLNESS I
Q. ReYoganize is not just about workouts; it is about bringing people together. What inspired you to build a fitness community, and what does community mean to you? For the first four years of my fitness journey, I was training in silos — completely solo, no community around it. Everything shifted when I moved from that to training in community formats. I progressed faster, got pushed into trying different things instead of just one and stayed accountable because I actually had to show up. Watching others push toward their best selves kept me showing up too, through cold winters, rain, whatever. And along the way, I met genuinely like-minded people I never would have found training alone. That's the whole reason ReYoganize exists as a community and not just a class. To me, community means people showing up for each other without it feeling forced — celebrating small wins, holding each other accountable and slowly building a shared identity around consistency. We recently traveled to Bangalore together for a hybrid fitness event, a first for all of us — training and pushing each other toward shared goals. The idea is simple: fitness shouldn't be some random routine you slot into your life. It should become the lifestyle itself, something you choose and grow into with people around you.
What have you observed about the people who join ReYoganize? What are they really looking for beyond exercise—motivation, accountability, friendships or a sense of belonging? What I've noticed is that beyond the exercise itself, most people are really looking for friendship. Our members mostly fall between 26 and 45, and that's usually the exact life stage where your existing friend circle has scattered — everyone's in a different phase, different city, different priorities. This community has become a forum for people to find others who genuinely care about their health and fitness and actually have a Saturday morning free to show up for it. Some of our members are newer to Hyderabad for work and don't have an existing circle here yet and they've found real friendships through the group. What's stayed with me most is how many people have told me they've found people they can genuinely be themselves with — no performance, no judgment. A lot of that happens after the workout, over coffee. Those sessions have quietly become the space where people feel safe enough to just speak their mind and be who they actually are. That's honestly become one of the most meaningful parts of ReYoganize.
TULIP SEPT, 2026 63
I WELLNESS
Looking ahead, what is your vision for ReYoganize, and what kind of impact would you ultimately like to make on Hyderabad's fitness and wellness culture? Right now, I’m focused more on depth than scale—building ReYoganize into a genuine part of people’s weekly routines, where showing up on Saturday mornings becomes a habit rather than a phase. That’s why community and retention matter more to me than simply growing numbers.
How do you make the Re Yoganize community welcoming for beginners while also challenging people who are already experienced and highly active? We balance different fitness levels by creating shared sessions rather than a one-levelfits-all approach. Everyone follows the same flow or format, but the intensity, depth and modifications are adapted to each person. So beginners and experienced members can train together while being challenged at their own level. The community also plays a big role in making newcomers feel welcome. Our consistency leaderboard and warm-up games reward participation and showing up, not being the fittest person in the room. At the same time, sessions like our Yoga Hyrox and Aqua Rox offer enough intensity to challenge experienced members while allowing beginners to scale them to their level. The goal isn’t for everyone to be at the same level—it’s for everyone to be in the same room, growing at their own edge.

Practice with Meditation
We are so busy and wandering without fully grasping the times we live in that millions of thoughts enter our heads each day. You maintain a mindfulness practice to take steps toward healing, learning about your emotions and thoughts, and focusing on your inner-self. Meditation is a patience-based technique that involves accepting silence and bringing serenity into one's life. Mediation was first used to better grasp life's holy and mystical powers. People now use this technique to connect with their inner selves and cultivate tranquilly in their lives. Though meditation can not totally heal all mental, physical, and emotional suffering in life, it helps promote stress management, which is the core cause of medical and emotional problems.

As you focus in to watch your breathing rate and body sensations, meditation helps all your jumbled ideas quiet down. The peace you experience throughout the session does not disappear when you leave it, but you will ultimately realise that you are being aware of your thoughts and feelings. Meditation may be performed in a variety of ways, and each individual may adapt to different kinds of meditation. For example, some people regard reading a book to be mediation, while others consider writing to be mediation. Body movement techniques such as dance and yoga are also considered mediation. You won't need any equipment to incorporate this healthy mindful practice into your daily routine, and you won't have to worry about finding the "perfect" method to meditate since there isn't one! The objective is to feel at ease and to know what works best for your lifestyle and daily routine.

1. Find a comfortable position:
2. Just breath:
You must ensure that you are comfortable when seated, and as a novice, you must seek out a setting that is not distracting, such as your room, balcony, or a nearby park. You can either take a backrest, fold your legs, sit in a chair, etc., and let the calm wash over you.
While your mind wanders, grab hold of it and focus on your breathing. Inhale and exhale slowly and carefully, scanning your body for sensations, becoming aware of discomfort and tensions in your body, and releasing them while you exhale.
3. Chant your mantras:
4. Be kind with your inner-child:
You can recite phrases from your sacred books or even daily affirmations while paying attention to your feelings. Recognize yourself, your body, and your thoughts.
Don't condemn yourself or be too harsh with your thoughts if you lose focus or your mind stray. Refocus your attention once you've been recognised.
5. Close with gratitude: You slowly open your eyes, or gently lift your gaze and look at the things around you, notice how you feel, mindful of your emotions. And, that’s it. The vibrations of patience and compassion toward oneself are the same vibrations needed in the world!

“How do we learn to pick between right & wrong? How do we differentiate between the emotional & the logical choice? And how do decide to pick one over the other? These are questions that a lot of people would agree to require an elevated maturity to answer & these have been questions that I found answers to from my meditation. I gave been meditating since I was 10, it has been a family activity that we & my parents take part in even today. Twenty minutes of meditation every day in the morning is essential to me. It grounds me in reality & truth and lets me connect with the divine. It is “MY” time of the day, meant for my soul, my mind & my body only. It is the time when I remind myself of the grandeur of our expansive universe, & how petite my problems, which often stress me out, are. Meditation lets me sink my feet into the truth & look at my problem just as they are. It helps me break the chain of mindless overthinking that has often led to anxiety attacks, which often paralyse me from making a decision. Through continuous meditation, I’ve learnt that my being is not worthless, I have value, my voice matters & I am meant to serve this world to the best of my potential. My meditation has led to my inner truth, led me to develop & create myself & my character, & often appears to be my portal to connect with the divinity within. My meditation has taught me to be grateful & to be a source of love & joy.”
“Meditation is the way of practising patience, calmness, to remove anxiety. Meditation is also known as Sadhana. Sitting in one place with a closed eye and focusing on the breathing pattern is one kind of meditation but not the only way. This is a way for the people who are on their path of detachment and away from the world resided in the Himalayas, Monks do this type of meditation. But unfortunately, the present generations have taken it to a point where they think, they need to take time for meditation which they are not comfortable with the timings or a place to do so. But meditation can also be done by practising to focusing on any individuals particular interest. what we are working with or for an art student his passion is painting n he puts all his focus into the painting, similarly, a person following and working in his passion with great interest and focused on his work is also a part of meditation. A focused person is in a state of self-consciousness where he/she exactly knows all the good and the flaws of a work to be done. Meditation does help in calming anxiety, helps clear all the doubts within, regular practising with proper breathing techniques can also attain many health benefits. While a beginner starts to meditate he/she gets different thoughts, let these thoughts move like moving clouds and just watch them without any reaction to the thoughts you see. It helps in getting clarity, patience, you see a different perspective of the same problem when you practise meditation while you are working or while relaxing.”

It’s definitely a journey from limited identity to unlimited happiness and wisdom.”

“Sometimes we forget that we will not reach our goals in our daily life if we do not have a calm, healthy and fit body. That is when meditation comes to our rescue it reduces the body’s stress response and promote a feeling of calmness in the mind and stops our wandering thoughts. Like all things in fitness even meditation takes a lot of practice and time even for beginners and for more advanced meditators also not every session is going to be a success. But the benefits of practising even when it goes wrong are overwhelming if you are new to meditation or you are frustrated as you are trying to find that centre of gravity. Remember that the more you try to practise, the better you become at finding your inner peace. When I think of meditating I think it’s an exercise for mental health. When I first began I started out doing what one would think of as a traditional meditation sitting with legs crossed and hands in a mudra and trying to calm my mind by focusing on my breath, it was not easy in my initial days but because of my consistent with the practice I have become better and have started to enjoy doing it daily, in fact, it has opened up a world of possibilities and helped me broaden my approach and my will power have boasted up in my bad days with full of positivity and it has made my health much better.”

WHY IS MARBLE IDEAL? Marble possesses key characteristics that make it an ideal material for bathroom design. Its distinctive and infinite designsallow for the creation of one-of-a-kind spaces. No two marble slabs are alike, each displaying its intricate patterns and colors. This natural variation ensures that your bathroom will have a distinctive and personalized touch. Furthermore, marble offers various possible finishes, ranging from polished to honed or even textured. This versatility allows for the adaptation of marble to different styles, whether you prefer a sleek contemporary look or a rustic, earthy feel. The high durability of marble makes it particularly suitable for wet areas such as bathrooms, ensuring longevity and resistance to moisture-related issues. In addition to its aesthetic qualities, marble possesses natural anti-bacterial properties that can be further enhanced or fortified with special treatments. This makes it an excellent choice for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the bathroom, promoting a healthier environment.
MAKING A STATEMENT The luster of the stone and its luxurious appearance instantly elevate the aesthetic of any space. One of the reasons marble is highly valued in bathroom design is its ability to cater to individual style preferences. Bathrooms are personal spaces, and marble provides the flexibility to express your unique taste. Whether you desire a luxurious, opulent ambiance or a more understated, sophisticated atmosphere, there is a marble option that perfectly aligns with your vision. The exotic colors and characters found in marble contribute to its timelessness. Some colors, like classic white Carrara or Calacatta marble, have stood the test of time and continue to be highly sought after. The natural beauty of marble reflects the wonders of nature itself, an eternal source of inspiration. Elegance resides in materials that are raw and natural, and marble exemplifies this inherent sophistication. Marble is commonly used as a design element in various popular bathroom styles. It transcends preferences as well and its adaptability ensures that no matter the style or preference, marble can enhance the overall aesthetic.

THE STYLE ELEMENT The color and veining variation in marble further contributes to its ability to enhance different bathroom styles. The unique patterns and veins in marble create designs that are truly distinctive and individual. No one else can have the same marble installation, making each bathroom design almost like a customized work of art. The creative use of marble veins allows for the creation of unique figures and characters that transform the stone into a piece of artwork itself. For contemporary and modern bathroom designs, monochromatic and single-shade marble options are recommended. The color palette is more subtle and muted, ensuring that the marble elements do not overpower other materials. This creates a sleek and modern look where marble adds a touch of sophistication without overwhelming the space. On the other hand, traditional bathroom styles benefit from the use of warmer-colored marbles that complement rich woodwork. Traditional designs often feature intricate details, and marble with intricate veining can balance the overall interior and add a sense of luxury and sophistication. Rustic bathrooms, a growing trend in interior design, can also be enhanced with the incorporation of marble. Travertine, a type of marble known for its open pores and association with ancient Roman monuments, lends itself well to rustic styles. Honed or matt finishes work particularly well in rustic designs, and marbles with elements of copper, gold, and yellow naturally occurring can create an authentic rustic feel.
TAKING CARE: SAFETY AND INSTALLATION While marble is a versatile and elegant material for bathroom design, there are some considerations to keep in mind. Highly porous materials should be avoided in wet areas to prevent potential staining or water damage. Good quality sealants can help protect the marble and maintain its pristine appearance. If the bathroom is intended for use by elderly individuals, anti-skid finishes can be applied to the wet areas for added safety. Proper installation is crucial to ensure the longevity and beauty of the marble, so it's important to entrust the job to skilled professionals. Marble offers infinite flexibility in design and options, allowing the creation of truly unique spaces. Few materials possess the durability required for wet areas like bathrooms, ensuring longlasting beauty. Its timeless elegance, natural characteristics, and ability to enhance any style make it a top choice for those seeking to upgrade their bathrooms.
