Over the years, Hyderabad itself has transformed into a city where heritage and modern luxury coexist effortlessly. In this special edition, we explore exactly that evolution from the new-age Hyderabadi wedding aesthetic where timeless Nizami grandeur meets modern minimalism, to the city’s rapidly evolving nightlife culture filled with immersive spaces, live music, and experiential luxury.
This issue also celebrates the rise of mindful living and conscious luxury Whether it is Hyderabad’s growing love for farmers markets, the intimate charm of curated supper clubs, or the increasing focus on wellness and yoga in our fast-paced lives, one thing becomes clear today’s luxury is no longer only about extravagance It is about authenticity, connection, craftsmanship, and meaningful experiences.
Fashion and artistry continue to remain at the heart of Tulip. Our feature on Met Gala 2026 captures how Indian couture and craftsmanship have taken center stage globally, while our jewellery special showcases a new generation of brands redefining adornment through storytelling, heritage, and contemporary elegance

METGALA 2026 WAS INDIA’S GRAND COUTURE TAKEOVER
The steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art transformed into a theatre of craftsmanship, heritage, sculpture, and storytelling at the 2026 Met Gala. With this year’s theme, “Fashion Is Art,” Indian celebrities arrived not merely dressed for the occasion, but draped in narratives woven through embroidery, architecture, textiles, and centuries of artisanal excellence. From sculptural gowns and heritage saris to avant-garde masks and museum-worthy silhouettes, Indian women dominated the global style conversation with
looks that balanced couture fantasy and cultural pride. Designers responded with creations that felt deeply personal, garments stitched with memory, symbolism, and painstaking handwork. Here are the Indian women who delivered the most unforgettable fashion moments of the night.

If there was one look that perfectly embodied the phrase “fashion as legacy,” it belonged to Isha Ambani. Draped in a molten gold saree conceptualised by Gaurav Gupta, the ensemble became an ode to Indian craftsmanship elevated into couture sculpture The fabric itself was woven with real gold threads by artisans associated with the Swadesh collective, while the blouse shimmered with hundreds of hand-set old-cut diamonds from Nita Ambani’s personal collection. Gupta’s signature futuristic draping merged seamlessly with traditional Indian weaving, creating a silhouette that felt celestial yet rooted in heritage. The look celebrated India’s artisanal ecosystem while positioning the saree as one of fashion’s most powerful red-carpet statements.

NATASHA POONAWALLA
Wore: Sculptural Orchid-Inspired Couture
Designer: Dolce & Gabbana
Natasha Poonawalla once again proved why she remains one of the Met Gala’s most fearless fashion risk-takers. Her dramatic white couture ensemble by Dolce & Gabbana featured an architectural silhouette inspired by sculptural orchids and contemporary installation art. The gown appeared almost unreal in movement, layered, exaggerated, and deeply theatrical. What elevated the look further was its interplay between softness and structure; delicate embroidery contrasted against bold sculptural shaping Natasha styled the ensemble like wearable gallery art, allowing every detail to command attention without overwhelming the craftsmanship Known for her fearless embrace of couture experimentation, she transformed the carpet into a moving exhibition of fantasy fashion.

Sudha’s look represented the softer, romantic side of Indian couture, graceful, detailed, and emotionally resonant.
Mona Patel embraced the futuristic spirit of couture in a breathtaking sculptural creation by Iris van Herpen. Known for blending fashion with technology and movement, van Herpen designed a look that appeared almost fluid in motion, with layered textures resembling kinetic art The intricate construction transformed the garment into a wearable installation rather than a conventional gown. Mona’s styling remained intentionally minimal, allowing the craftsmanship and engineering of the couture piece to take centre stage. The result was hauntingly elegant and intellectually bold At a gala celebrating fashion as art, her appearance stood out as one of the evening’s most museum-worthy interpretations of experimental couture.

The garment radiated understated grandeur rather than overt spectacle, relying on detail and textile richness instead of excessive theatrics The craftsmanship reflected the duo’s mastery over ceremonial couture, garments that carry history within their embroidery Gauravi’s appearance introduced a softer interpretation of the Met theme, where elegance and heritage became the primary artistic statement.

Instead of opting for excessive spectacle, the designer focused on elegance through craftsmanship, allowing the richness of artisanal work to become the focal point. The look celebrated the heritage of Indian ateliers and the skilled karigars behind couture fashion Every element, from the embroidery placement to the fluid tailoring, carried the refinement associated with Malhotra’s signature design language.

Let’s dive down to the fashion jewellery scene of 2026, and what they have to offer us for our special occasions and days.
TAMANNAAH FINE JEWELLERY
Tamannaah Fine Jewellery, founded by actor Tamannaah Bhatia, stands at the intersection of celebrity influence and authentic fine craftsmanship. The brand eschews fastfashion trends in favor of timeless elegance, primarily utilizing 18K gold and high-quality natural diamonds. Its collections are designed for the modern woman who seeks “everyday luxury”, pieces that are sophisticated enough for the red carpet yet understated enough for daily wear. The brand’s philosophy centers on the idea that jewelry should celebrate milestones while remaining comfortable and versatile. Each collection is carefully curated to reflect a balance between traditional Indian opulence and clean, global design sensibilities, making it a compelling choice for those who view jewelry as both an investment and a refined fashion statement.
Unique Pieces: The “Signature Bloom” natural diamond pendant, featuring intricate floral geometry, and the “Infinity Band” with layered, high-clarity diamond settings.
Beyond Larissa is a deeply personal project by influential content creator Larissa D’Sa, serving as a collection of “wearable souvenirs.” The brand draws its inspiration directly from the founder’s extensive travels, translating global experiences into tangible, high-quality jewelry. Using a mix of 18K gold, silver, and diamonds, the brand emphasizes storytelling above all else. Every piece is designed to be a conversation starter, carrying the memory of a place or an emotion. The aesthetic is organic and fluid, perfect for individuals who want their accessories to reflect a nomadic, free-spirited, and worldly lifestyle. It is an ideal brand for those who value the narrative behind an object as much as the precious metals from which it is crafted.
Unique Pieces: The “Horizon” cuff, inspired by jagged mountain silhouettes, and the “Ocean-Droplet” earring, which mimics the fluidity of tropical waves.
PALMONAS
Co-designed by actor Shraddha Kapoor, Palmonas has fundamentally changed the Indian market by introducing the “demi-fine” category. The brand is built for the generation that wants the aesthetic of high-end jewelry without the prohibitive costs or the maintenance of traditional precious metals. Palmonas specializes in highquality, tarnish-resistant gold vermeil, 18K thick gold plating over sterling silver. This makes their jewelry perfectly suited for a high-intensity urban lifestyle, as the pieces are waterproof and durable. Their design language is consistently minimalist, modern, and feminine, catering to those who prefer “quiet luxury” and want their jewelry to transition seamlessly from a professional morning meeting to an evening social event without any fuss.
Unique Pieces: The “Letter Layering” personalized gold necklaces and their signature “Twisted Gold” minimalist hoop earrings that offer a modern, architectural appeal.
Zohra is a vibrant celebration of the rich tapestry of Indian craftsmanship. By bridging the gap between traditional artisanal techniques from West Bengal and Rajasthan and the edgy, modern silhouettes demanded by today’s youth, Zohra has carved out a unique space in the market. The brand focuses on versatility, ensuring that even their most ornatelooking pieces remain lightweight and easy to style. Their jewelry is designed for the woman who loves to experiment, comfortably switching between traditional ethnic ensembles and bold, fusion western wear. Zohra’s commitment to reviving indigenous craft practices while keeping them fashion-forward makes them a standout brand for those who want to honor their roots while staying perfectly in tune with current global design trends.
Unique Pieces: The “Geometric Jhumka,” which reimagines the classic shape with sharp, modern lines, and the “Textured Gold” statement cuff that pairs well with anything.

The brand’s aesthetic is serene and sophisticated, often described as “wearable sculpture.” Each piece is crafted with a meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that the interplay between metal and gemstone is harmonious Dalakosa appeals to individuals who shy away from flashy designs and instead look for understated, intelligent creations that invite curiosity and appreciation. THE NEW
WEDDING MOODBOARD
HYDERABAD Nizami Grandeur Meets
Modern Minimalism
The traditional Hyderabadi wedding has always been legendary for its sheer, unapologetic scale. It is a sensory overload of rich heirloom khada dupattas, the intoxicating aroma of slow-cooked biryani wafting through royal courtyards, and glittering guest lists that seem to span entire generations. For decades, the blueprint was set in stone: opulence, excess, and a deep reverence for Nizami heritage. But a quiet, elegant revolution is brewing in the City of Pearls. The modern Hyderabadi couple is rewriting the rules, trading overwhelming excess for curated intentionality. Today’s mood board is a masterful blend of historical nostalgia and contemporary sophistication—a celebration that honors its magnificent roots while looking firmly toward a chic, modern future.
- By Aniksha Rachamalla
The Palette:
Deccan heart, the new color palette is decidedly softer and more atmospheric. Couples are shifting away from saturated primary colours and drawing inspiration from the faded pastels of the Chowmahalla Palace at dusk.
The New Core Tones: Think mint greens, powder blues, dusty roses, and rich ivory.
PASTEL PALACES AND SUBDUED LUXURY
The Metallic Shift: Shiny, heavy brass gold is out. Instead, wealth is whispered through brushed champagne accents, rose gold trims, and subtle, matte metallic threads woven into the fabric of the day.
This palette shift creates an atmosphere of understated luxury. Instead of the decor screaming for attention, it allows the stunning architectural beauty of Hyderabad’s heritage venues to take center stage.
[ OLD HYDERABAD ] [ THE NEW MOODBOARD]
Heavy crimson & gold drapes Minimalist glass & botanical arches
The iconic six-yard khada dupatta remains the undisputed crown jewel of the Hyderabadi bride, but its execution has undergone a massive weight-loss program. Contemporary brides are collaborating with designers to lighten the physical load without losing a single ounce of the drama.
Element | The Traditional Blueprint | The Modern Evolution Fabrics | Stiff, heavy real-tissue tinsel | Fluid, hand-woven brocades & silk Embroidery style| Thick, chunky sequins and beads | Fine antique zardozi & marori Veil Details | Heavy scalloped borders | Delicate seed pearls sewn in
The groom’s moodboard is seeing an equally sharp upgrade. The classic sherwani is shedding its stiff, heavily embroidered exterior. Modern grooms are leaning toward tailored, structured silhouettes in monochromatic tones, often sporting asymmetric cuts, hidden plackets, or subtle self-texture fabrics rather than all-over embellishment.
The Decor: BOTANICAL GRANDEUR AND NIZAMI NUANCE
Gone are the days of dense, wall-towall marigold drapes that completely mask a venue’s personality. The modern decor aesthetic focuses on "botanical grandeur." Venues like the Taj Falaknuma Palace or Taramati Baradari are no longer treated as blank spaces to build over, but as living canvases.
The Floral REVOLUTION
Instead of standard roses, decorators are creating sprawling installations using local jasmine (motia) intertwined with imported eucalyptus, pampas grass, and cascading white orchids. The look is organic, wild, and incredibly fragrant.
The Lighting
AESTHETIC
Blinding, hot stage spotlights have been replaced by the soft glow of a thousand candles. Designers are utilizing minimal glass structures, massive fairy-light tunnels, and clusters of flickering diyas to create an ethereal, romantic twilight ambiance that feels less like a theatrical stage set and more like an exclusive royal garden party.
The Feast: A GASTRONOMIC EVOLUTION
You cannot talk about a Hyderabad wedding without talking about the food. It is the literal heartbeat of the celebration. While the legendary Kachche Gosht ki Biryani, Mirchi ka Salan, and Double ka Meetha remain non-negotiable staples, the presentation and accompaniment have received a massive glow-up.
Gourmet GRAZING TABLES
Alongside the traditional heavy food counters, modern weddings now feature gorgeous, European-style artisanal cheese boards, live sourdough baking stations, and highend fusion chaat counters served in delicate glassware.

MIXOLOGY
Mass-produced soft drinks are a thing of the past. Today’s moodboard demands bespoke craft mocktail and cocktail bars. Mixologists infuse drinks with local flavors like pink guava, saffron, fresh mint, and rosewater, offering guests a personalized, refreshing drink experience tailored to the couple's favorite flavor profiles.
Modernized DECCANI DESSERTS
Classic sweets are getting a contemporary pastry-chef twist:
Qubani ka Meetha: Transformed into elegant apricot panna cottas or layered parfaits.
Badam ka Kund: Served inside delicate, buttery tartlets topped with edible gold leaf.
Shahi Tukda: Reimagined as artisanal bread puddings infused with saffron cream.

INTIMACY AND INTENT
"The true luxury of the modern Hyderabadi wedding isn't how much money was spent, but how thoughtful the experience feels."
Perhaps the most significant change in the new Hyderabadi wedding moodboard isn’t visual —it’s cultural. The city is embracing the beauty of intentional design. Even within large-scale celebrations, couples are insisting on creating distinct "experiential zones."
Instead of a single massive hall where everyone sits in rows, weddings now feature personalized photo nooks that look like vintage Nizami living rooms, interactive guest-book stations with vintage typewriters or audio recorders, and relaxed lounge seating where family members can actually sit and converse.
Today's Hyderabad wedding proves that heritage and modernity don't have to clash. By stripping away the chaotic excess of the past and focusing on craftsmanship, curation, and genuine Deccani hospitality, the new generation is creating a wedding aesthetic that is distinctly Hyderabadi, utterly contemporary, and timelessly beautiful.
Vishruta Motupalli
ENTREPRENEUR
"Lighter, unique, and I could actually breathe."
"When we started planning, I knew I didn't want the standard heavy crimson look. I was very particular about wanting an offbeat color palette and a lighter feel. For the wedding, I chose an unconventional grey and violet silk saree teamed with clean diamonds, and my husband wore a completely muted sherwani.
My family was initially terrified that a lighter pastel palette wouldn't look 'grand' enough for a Hyderabad wedding. But honestly? Going minimalist with the decor— using beautiful, organic flower arrangements instead of massive cloth drapes— made everything look so elegant. Best of all, because my outfit wasn't weighed down by ten kilos of heavy metal sequins, I could actually walk around, talk to my guests, and enjoy my own wedding food!"
Aniksha R
LUXURY WEDDING PLANNER & DECOR DESIGNER (AR EVENTS & CO.)
"Couples want heritage, but they want it wrapped in culture, not clutter."
"The shift in Hyderabad over the last year has been massive. The demand for heritage setups has doubled, but it’s completely different from the old-school 'over-the-top' luxury. Today’s couples are highly design-conscious. They don't want us to build a fake, blindingly bright set over a venue. If they book a stunning heritage space like Falaknuma or a beautiful open lawn, they want the architecture to speak.
We are replacing harsh stage spotlights with thousands of real candles, warm fairy lights, and glass installations. We are also doing a lot of botanical grandeur—using massive streams of local motia (jasmine) mixed with pampas grass. It creates a mood that feels ultra-premium, intimate, and deeply emotional. It’s no longer about how much you can throw at a wedding, but how beautifully you can curate it."
Mrs. Batul
FOUNDER OF JOWKSTRAVELS
"I missed the classic sea of people, but the food presentation won me over."
"At first, I was quite skeptical about this new style of wedding. To me, a Hyderabadi wedding means a bustling chaos of a thousand people, bright lights, and traditional red and gold everywhere. Walking into a venue that was mostly lit by candlelight and full of pale green and ivory decor felt a bit too quiet initially. I even told my husband it felt like a garden party instead of a wedding!
But I must admit, it won me over by the end. Because they kept the guest count a bit more intentional and created separate lounge spaces, I could actually sit comfortably and talk to old friends without screaming over loud music. And the food! They still had the authentic Kachche Gosht ki Biryani—which is a must—but serving the Qubani ka Meetha as a delicate little pastry tart was brilliant. It proved to me that the younger generation still respects our culture, they just have a smoother, quieter way of showing it."

HOW YOGA BECAME THE CITY’S MINDFUL ACCESSORY
In a world of constant screens, rushed schedules, and rising stress, yoga offers more than exercise; it offers a way to live. A combined practice of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation restores posture and mobility, reduces stress, improves sleep, and sharpens mental focus Therapeutic approaches help manage pain and chronic conditions, while accessible styles like Hatha make yoga usable for all ages and bodies. Beyond measurable health gains, yoga nurtures discipline, resilience, and inner calm, qualities that modern life desperately needs
As sunlight spills into parks and rooftops each June 21, people across India and around the world roll out their mats to observe International Yoga Day, a celebration that honours yoga’s ancient roots while spotlighting its relevance for modern life
Declared by the United Nations in 2014 following a proposal by India, this day recognises yoga as a holistic system that integrates physical postures, breath control, and mindfulness to promote health, harmony, and well being.
- By Vaishnavi D.
What does International Yoga Day personally mean to you in today’s fast-paced world?
International Yoga Day is a global pause, a reminder to reconnect with ourselves and prioritize physical and mental wellbeing. It spreads awareness about mindful living and encourages people to bring peace, balance, and positivity into daily life.
KHYATI BHATT
How has yoga changed your lifestyle beyond physical fitness?
Yoga has transformed my life beyond the body. It has made me calmer, more positive, and mentally stronger. The practice taught me balance, discipline, and mindfulness, helping me manage stress, stay focused, and connect emotionally and spiritually. Today, yoga is my way of life.
Which yoga practice or ritual should beginners start with, and why? Beginners should begin with basic Hatha Yoga, coupled with simple breathing exercises and short meditations. Hatha builds flexibility, posture, and body awareness at a gentle pace, calming the mind while creating a strong foundation for future practice.
How do you balance the spiritual and modern wellness aspects of yoga in your daily routine?
I combine mindfulness and physical asanas every day. Alongside asana practice, a few minutes of meditation and conscious breathing keep me grounded, blending inner peace with the practical wellness needs of modern life.
What is the biggest misconception people still have about yoga today?
Many think yoga is only about flexibility or fancy poses. In truth, yoga is for everyone and centers equally on breathing, mental calm, discipline, and holistic well-being.
One-line message for readers this International Yoga Day
Yoga is not about being perfect; it is about creating balance, peace, and connection within yourself.
How has yoga changed your lifestyle beyond physical fitness?
Yoga gave me permission to slow down and reflect, to stop constantly proving myself. I didn't just find a practice; I found myself, and a profession where doing well and doing good are the same thing.
What does International Yoga Day personally mean to you in today's fast-paced world?
It's a collective exhale. In a world addicted to productivity, Yoga Day reminds us that stillness is intelligence. For me, it's a call to bring people back to themselves, one breath at a time.
YENESI NIHARIKA
I'm Yenesi Niharika, founder of Yoga with Yenesika a yoga teacher and women’s wellness educator, based in Noida. A difficult divorce led me to yoga, pulling me out of one of the darkest phases of my life. The transformation was so profound physically, mentally, spiritually — that I quit litigation after working as a lawyer for 6 years and never looked back. Today, I work with corporates, organize yoga camps in industrial townships across the country, and conduct workplace wellness sessions across Delhi-NCR. But my truest work is with busy working women, through my online classes and my studio in Sector 48, Noida, where I focus on hormonal health, fertility, and menstrual wellness. In just two years, hundreds of women have found balance, regularity, and healing, and a few have gone on to become happy new mothers.
Which yoga practice or ritual do you believe beginners should start with, and why?
Begin with five minutes of conscious breathing and selfreflection, what yoga calls Svadhyaya. Morning or night, set an intention or review your day honestly.
Acknowledging what's working and what isn't creates the awareness that makes everything in yoga, and life, truly transformative.
How do you balance the spiritual and modern wellness aspects of yoga in your daily routine?
I don't separate them, I blend them. My classes weave ancient yogic wisdom with modern understanding of anatomy, the endocrine system, and the real challenges young working women face today. That integration is exactly what makes my online classes so impactful for women's hormonal health and overall wellness.
What is the biggest misconception people still have about yoga today?
Many think yoga is only about flexibility or fancy poses. In truth, yoga is for everyone and centers equally on breathing, mental calm, discipline, and holistic wellbeing.
In one line, what message would you like to share with readers this International Yoga Day
Yoga is not about being perfect; it is about creating balance, peace, and connection within yourself.
Practical tips for readers
Start with 10–15 minutes daily; consistency matters more than duration.
Learn basic alignment from a certified teacher; use props when needed. Breathe with your movement to amplify benefits. Include short breathing breaks during the day to reset posture and calm stress.
Join a community class on International Yoga Day to celebrate and stay motivated.

By Vaishnavi D
Payal Radhakrishna is no stranger to Hyderabad. The actress and model, who works across Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil cinema, has made the city very much her own — and her instincts for where the real magic happens here run surprisingly deep. We sat down with her to talk about evenings well spent, personal style, and why Hyderabad’s most coveted tables have little to do with menus.
Supper club nights or coffee dates — what feels more like you in Hyderabad?
Honestly, coffee dates in Hyderabad still hold a very special place for me When I first moved here, it was the rainy season and I found myself gravitating towards coffee spots almost every day. There is something deeply intimate about those places. But I think what draws me to Hyderabad’s supper club culture now is that same intimacy, just taken further A shared table, the right people, a meal made with real care that is where the best conversations happen.
What does your perfect Hyderabad evening look like fashion, food, and all?
My ideal evening always begins with people I am closest to A quick visit to a temple first, then to a good coffee spot, and from there we drift towards something live a bhajan gathering, or a Telugu live band playing at a place like Tabula Rasa There is a rhythm to evenings in Hyderabad that feels almost curated, without even trying The city does that to you. It is not about a grand restaurant reservation; it is about who you are with and where the night takes you.
Your beauty vibe feels effortless. What’s your go-to ritual before an intimate dinner evening?
Self-care for me is not a pre-event ritual it is a daily discipline Staying hydrated, sleeping well, eating clean. I understood the real importance of all of this during summer here in Hyderabad. The city itself does a lot of the heavy lifting the culture, the energy, the warmth of the people around you, it all lifts your mood When you feel good from the inside, you show up differently at the table.
Which Hyderabad dining experience matches your personality the most?
I have so many memories at Karafa, Roast CCX, and places like Vivaha Bhojanambu and Palle Vindu. But honestly, it is the local joints that stay with me longest the ones where the food carries a story and the experience feels personal. That, to me, is exactly what supper clubs are capturing: the feeling of being fed with intention When a host puts their heart into a meal and seats you next to a stranger who becomes a memory, that is something no restaurant menu can replicate.
How would you describe your personal style in three words?
Comfortable. Confident. Contextual I can never be uncomfortable whether it is a shoot, a coffee date, or an intimate supper. I need to feel like myself. More than glamour, I want to dress for the occasion and honour the space I am in. I love my sarees deeply, but I dress according to the moment. At a supper club, that might mean draping something elegant and sitting across from a stranger over a meal that changes the evening entirely.
BEHIND HYDERABAD’S
Dinner Invitations
Hyderabad’s Most curated Tables Aren’t Inside Restaurants Anymore, In a city where reservations at fine-dining restaurants once defined social status, Hyderabad’s elite are now chasing something far more intimate, a seat at a stranger’s table. Supper clubs, the global dining phenomenon built around curated guest lists, private homes, soulful food, and meaningful conversations, are quietly transforming the city’s culinary landscape.
Far from loud cafés and predictable luxury restaurants, these gatherings offer exclusivity with emotion: strangers bonding over heirloom recipes, slow-cooked meals, and stories that cannot be recreated on a menu card. For Hyderabad’s new-age luxury crowd, dining is no longer just about what is served, it is about who you share the table with.
Dakhni Dastarkhwan
At the heart of this movement is Dakhni Dastarkhwan, a deeply personal farm-style dining experience led by Aqsa, whose love for authentic Hyderabadi cuisine has turned her family’s treasured recipes into one of the city’s most talked-about supper club experiences. What began nearly six years ago as a humble home kitchen has now evolved into an immersive Dakhni gathering where guests sit together over soulful dishes like OG biryani, Dum Ka Murgh, Lukhmi, and Qubani Ka Meetha, all prepared with the warmth of traditional Hyderabadi hospitality. Every meal feels less like a commercial dining event and more like being welcomed into a family celebration, where stories travel as generously as the food itself.
What makes Dakhni Dastarkhwan stand apart in Hyderabad’s growing supper club scene is its emotional authenticity. Guests from different cultures and backgrounds arrive as strangers, yet leave with conversations, memories, and a deeper understanding of Hyderabad’s culinary heritage. Beyond the lavish spread, Aqsa and her family invite diners into the rhythms of Dakhni living, through stories behind recipes, walks across fruit orchards, and intimate exchanges around the dastarkhwan. In an era obsessed with curated luxury, Hyderabad’s supper clubs are proving that true exclusivity lies not in velvet ropes or private lounges, but in the rare privilege of feeling at home somewhere unexpected.

Pazirai Hyderabad
An authentic heritage dining experience reviving Hyderabad’s forgotten mehfil culture
In Hyderabad’s evolving supper club scene, Pazirai has emerged as more than just a dining experience, it feels like a return to the city’s old-world culture of mehman nawazi, where food, history, art, and conversation exist together around one dastarkhwan.
Hosted inside heritage spaces and intimate settings, Pazirai reimagines traditional Hyderabadi hospitality for a modern audience seeking experiences rooted in culture rather than commercial luxury.
What makes Pazirai truly distinct is its emotional connection to Hyderabad’s culinary identity. The experience goes beyond serving heirloom recipes; it preserves stories, rituals, and the elegance of slow dining that once defined the city’s social life. From curated Hyderabadi and Lucknowi feasts to candlelit gatherings inside historic homes, every evening at Pazirai feels immersive, nostalgic, and deeply personal, a rare luxury in today’s fast-paced dining culture.

Thrones of Taste
WHERE HYDERABAD’S RESTAURANTS WEAVE LEGENDS AROUND NIZAMI CUISINE
Royal Plates, Royal Past: Nizami Tables That Still Rule Hyderabad
Nizami cooking is less a cuisine and more a royal language of slow fire, slow time, and layered spices. In early Hyderabad, it emerged from the kitchens of Asaf Jah’s court, where biryanis were not just cooked but composed, kebabs were carved like miniatures, and each grain of rice carried the weight of protocol. Over time, the city’s restaurants inherited this legacy, turning dining halls into miniature courts where every dish whispers of khazans, dastarkhwans, and midnight feasts under stone domes.
Today, five tables stand out as modern day Nizami thrones: Jewel of Nizam – The Minar, Tevar, Adaa at Taj Falaknuma Palace, Dum Pukht Begum at ITC Kohenur, and Aiwan e Khas by Shadab Each offers a distinct shade of royal dining, from Gandipet ridge theatrics to the old city hum of Begum Bazar, but all share the same DNA: long stewed meats, caramel kissed gravies, and rice that tastes like bottled history.

JEWEL OF NIZAM – THE MINAR
Suspended 100 feet above the calm waters of Osman Sagar, “Jewel of Nizam – The Minar” feels like a royal observation deck for flavours. At the Golkonda Resort in Gandipet, revolving views of the ridge and the lake frame a dining room decked in deep blue velvet, brass filigree, and regal chandeliers; the air hums with the steady clink of silverware and the soft murmur of full course banquets
The menu is built around a lavish “Dast e Sagar Mahal” set meal multi course Nizami fare that starts with rich soups and a parade of kebabs, then moves to slow cooked mutton qaliya, chicken salan, and biryanis that arrive in sealed copper pots The true star is the “Royal Nizami Dum Biryani –Golkonda Edition”, where aged mutton, saffron dyed rice, and fried onions are layered and slow dummed until the crust shatters like a palace door opening to sunset.
Address: Jewel of Nizam – The Minar, The Golkonda Resort & Spa, Gandipet, Hyderabad
TEVAR – THE PROGRESSIVE INDIAN KITCHEN & BAR
Down in the steel glass gleam of HITEC City, Tevar transcribes Nizami cuisine into a modern royal dialect The space is sleek and airy, with moody lighting, a prominent bar, and an open kitchen theatre that turns grills and tandoors into live performance The ambience is cosmopolitan yet grounded; work late dinners and weekend revels often blur into long, spice soaked conversations
Tevar’s menu flirts with heritage through progressive twists: biryanis with alternative grains, kebabs with modern style sauces, and desserts that reinterpret kewra and saffron in a glass rather than a bowl The scene stealer is the “Tevar Dum Style Galauti Platter”, a trio of melt in the mouth lamb galautis each finished with a different spice essence, one floral, one smoky, one tangy, proving that Nizami minimalism can be amplified, not diluted, by modern technique.

ADAA AT TAJ FALAKNUMA PALACE
At Taj Falaknuma Palace, Adaa is less a restaurant and more a living Nizami archive Housed in the palace’s grand halls, the dining room is a marriage of marble, gilded mirrors, and soft candlelight, with panoramic views of Hyderabad from the hilltop that make every meal feel like a private royal audience. The dress code is smart casual, but the experience is anything but ordinary.
Hyderabadi cuisine here is treated as heirloom craft: slow cooked meats, painstakingly tempered gravies, and rice dishes that speak of hours in the kitchen. The menu is a curated Nizami royal repertoire, often presented as tasting journeys through the palace kitchens. Signature dishes include Dahi Ke Kababs, Pattar Ka Gosh, and Pista Murgh, each layered with the subtle sourness of yogurt, the warmth of saffron, and the quiet crunch of crunch fried nuts
Address: Adaa, Taj Falaknuma Palace, Falaknuma, Hyderabad
DUM PUKHT BEGUM – ITC KOHENUR
Dum Pukht Begum at ITC Kohenur is Nizami elegance in five star packaging The restaurant’s interiors are regal yet understated: low lit chandeliers, rich fabrics, and dark wood cabinetry that frame a kitchen where every dish is cooked in the traditional dum style sealed pots, slow heat, and patient layering of spices. The ambience is ideal for business dinners, celebratory feasts, or anyone who wants a full scale royal spread without leaving the city centre
The menu leans into the Nizami Awadh spectrum, with kebabs, biryanis, and slow stewed gravies that could have walked out of the same khansamas’ kitchens three centuries ago. Star dishes include Shikampur Kebab, Patthar Gosht, and the “Nizami Dum Ka Murgh”, where chicken is slow cooked with caramelised onions, saffron, and nut pastes until every strand of meat almost dissolves in the sauce
Address: Dum Pukht Begum, ITC Kohenur, Sattva Knowledge City
AIWAN‑E‑KHAS BY SHADAB
Tucked beside the old Shadab in Begum Bazar, Aiwan e Khas by Shadab is Nizami dining with a street wise soul. The setting is more intimate than the grand palaces, with a warm, mellow palette of wood, brass, and soft lighting that turns the restaurant into a “private chamber” for food lovers. The ambiance is bustling, convivial, and steeped in the sounds of the old city, honking autos outside, the distant call to prayer, and the steady clatter of plates.
The menu is a tight, confident ode to Mughlai Hyderabadi classics: rich biryanis, spicy kebabs, and robust salans that match the character of the neighbourhood. Signature plates include Shadab style Haleem, spicy mutton kebabs, and a Nizami style mutton biryani that emerges from the pot in concentric rings of saffron stained rice and lacquered meat.
Whether you come for a single, show stopping dish or a full dastarkhwan, you leave not just nourished but gently seduced by the idea that dining, in this city, can still be a royal ritual.

Ashritha Rachamalla Management Trainee
“Hyderabad’s nightlife has evolved dramatically over the last few years, and honestly, it feels like the city has found a completely new personality after dark. Earlier, nightlife here mostly revolved around a handful of pubs or late-night cafés, but now there’s so much more variety and character. You have rooftop lounges overlooking the skyline in Jubilee Hills, chic cocktail bars tucked away in Banjara Hills, breweries in Gachibowli with live music, and even intimate spaces hosting poetry nights and indie performances.
What I love most is that Hyderabad’s nightlife doesn’t try too hard to imitate other metro cities — it still carries its own warmth and culture. Even the most upscale places somehow feel welcoming and relaxed. People are going out not just to party anymore, but to experience good music, interesting food, conversations, and ambience. The city feels younger, more expressive, and more confident than ever before.”
Akanksha R Interior Design Student
“What makes Hyderabad’s evolving nightlife exciting is the diversity of experiences available today. A few years ago, most outings looked the same — dinner followed by drinks at a crowded pub. Now, every area in the city has its own vibe and identity. Jubilee Hills feels polished and luxurious, Financial District has energetic brewery culture, while places around Banjara Hills offer more intimate and curated experiences.
I think the biggest shift has been in the crowd as well. People are more experimental now. They’re exploring cocktail culture, live gigs, themed nights, stand-up comedy shows, and even curated dining events. There’s also a noticeable rise in spaces that combine food, music, and design beautifully, making nightlife feel more immersive rather than just loud.
Another thing I appreciate is how inclusive the scene has become. Whether you want a highenergy Saturday night, a quiet jazz evening, or just a relaxed rooftop dinner with friends, Hyderabad now has options for every kind of mood. The city’s nightlife finally feels layered and global while still maintaining its local charm.”
Prakul
Assistant Project Manager
“As someone who has lived in Hyderabad for over ten years, I can confidently say the city’s nightlife has transformed completely. There was a time when Hyderabad would become noticeably quieter after a certain hour, but now weekends feel alive. There’s always something happening — live music performances, DJ nights, food festivals, flea markets, art events, karaoke nights, or late-night dessert cafés buzzing with people.
What’s particularly interesting is how nightlife here is no longer limited to partying. It has become more culture-driven. Many cafés and bars now host creative events like storytelling sessions, poetry readings, indie music gigs, and community gatherings. It feels like people are genuinely looking for experiences and social connections rather than simply going out for drinks.
I also think Hyderabad’s food culture has played a huge role in shaping its nightlife. Late-night biryani spots, gourmet cafés, dessert bars, and experimental restaurants have all contributed to creating a city that stays active much later than it used to. The atmosphere feels vibrant but not overwhelming, which is what makes Hyderabad unique compared to some other metro cities.
Today, the city feels far more dynamic, youthful, and culturally active after dark — and that evolution has been exciting to witness.”
WHY HYDERABAD SUDDENLY CAN’T GET ENOUGH OF FARMERS' MARKETS
TheCity’sNewWeekendObsession
Over the last few years, Hyderabad’s lifestyle scene has undergone a quiet but noticeable shift. Weekend plans are no longer limited to mall visits, brunch outings, or café hopping. Instead, more Hyderabadis are waking up early to spend their mornings walking through farmers markets filled with fresh greens, artisanal breads, organic produce, handcrafted candles, homemade pickles, flowers, and sustainable lifestyle brands
From Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills to Gachibowli and Kondapur, farmers markets have become some of the city’s most talked-about lifestyle experiences. What once felt like a niche concept meant for health enthusiasts has now turned into a cultural trend embraced by young professionals, families, fitness lovers, pet parents, and content creators alike.
In a fast-growing city like Hyderabad where modern urban life moves rapidly farmers markets offer something people are increasingly craving: freshness, community, and a slower way of living.
BYANIKSHARACHAMALLA
A FRESH ESCAPE FROM CITY LIFE
Hyderabad is known for its vibrant food culture. From biryani and chai to street food and café culture, the city has always had a deep emotional connection with food But alongside indulgence, there’s now a growing focus on mindful eating and healthier lifestyles. That’s where farmers markets step in.
Unlike supermarkets where produce often feels packaged and impersonal, Hyderabad’s farmers markets bring shoppers closer to the source. You’ll find naturally grown vegetables, seasonal fruits, farm-fresh herbs, homemade cheeses, cold-pressed oils, and preservative-free products sold directly by local farmers and small businesses
For many Hyderabadis, the experience feels refreshing. There’s something comforting about buying tomatoes that actually smell fresh, mangoes that are seasonal rather than artificially ripened, or greens harvested just hours before reaching the stall. In a city increasingly dominated by convenience culture, farmers markets feel real again.
WELLNESS CULTURE IS THRIVING IN HYDERABAD
Hyderabad’s younger generation has become significantly more health-conscious in recent years. Fitness studios, pilates spaces, healthy cafés, organic brands, and cleaneating trends are rapidly becoming part of urban lifestyle culture. Farmers markets naturally fit into this evolving wellness movement
Visitors can now find kombucha brews, gluten-free desserts, vegan snacks, sourdough breads, millet-based products, cold-pressed juices, herbal teas, and natural skincare brands all under one roof Many markets even feature yoga sessions, wellness workshops, live music, and fitness pop-ups that transform shopping into a complete lifestyle experience.
For many people in the city, visiting a farmers’ market isn’t just about grocery shopping anymore it’s part of a larger wellness routine.
THE INSTAGRAM EFFECT ON HYDERABAD’S FARMERS MARKETS
Social media has played a massive role in turning farmers markets into Hyderabad’s newest lifestyle hotspots. Beautifully curated stalls, fresh flower bouquets, rustic bakery counters, colourful fruits, ecofriendly packaging, and naturally aesthetic outdoor spaces have made these markets incredibly popular online Content creators and influencers regularly share snippets of their “slow mornings” spent browsing organic stalls with coffee in hand and tote bags filled with fresh produce. In many ways, farmers markets have become Hyderabad’s answer to global slow-living culture. But unlike temporary social media trends, this one has genuine substance behind it. The aesthetic appeal simply reflects a deeper shift in how people want to live healthier, slower, and more intentionally.
SUPPORTING LOCAL HAS BECOME IMPORTANT
One of the strongest reasons behind the popularity of farmers markets in Hyderabad is the growing desire to support local businesses and homegrown brands.
Consumers today are becoming more mindful about where their money goes. Instead of only shopping from large retail chains, many Hyderabadis now prefer buying from independent bakers, local farmers, sustainable fashion labels, home chefs, and artisanal creators.
At these markets, shoppers can directly interact with the people behind the products Whether it’s a baker explaining the fermentation process behind sourdough bread or a farmer discussing seasonal produce, the experience feels personal and authentic That emotional connection is something modern retail spaces often fail to provide.
FARMERS MARKETS ARE BECOMING SOCIAL SPACES
Perhaps the biggest reason for the rise of farmers markets in Hyderabad is that they’ve evolved into community spaces rather than simple shopping destinations. Families spend entire mornings exploring stalls, friends meet over artisanal coffee, pet owners bring their dogs along, and children learn about fresh produce in a way supermarkets never allow. Live music performances, creative workshops, pottery stalls, and food counters make these markets feel more like lifestyle festivals than grocery setups In a city where traffic, work schedules, and fastpaced routines can often feel overwhelming, farmers markets offer people an opportunity to slow down and reconnect
HYDERABAD’S CLIMATE AND
SEASONAL PRODUCE CULTURE
Hyderabad’s climate also plays an interesting role in the popularity of farmers markets. Seasonal produce especially during mango season, winter vegetable harvests, and monsoon greens draws huge crowds looking for fresher and more natural alternatives. There’s growing appreciation for seasonal eating and regional produce. Shoppers are becoming more curious about where ingredients come from, how they’re grown, and which foods naturally belong to each season. This renewed connection with seasonal food feels both nostalgic and modern at the same time.
SUSTAINABILITY MATTERS MORE THAN EVER
As conversations around sustainability continue to grow, farmers markets have become symbols of conscious consumption. Reusable cloth bags, minimal plastic packaging, locally sourced ingredients, handmade products, and eco-conscious brands align with the values many urban consumers are beginning to prioritize Hyderabad’s younger audience especially is showing increasing interest in reducing waste and making environmentally responsible choices. Farmers markets make sustainable living feel accessible rather than intimidating.
MORE THAN A TREND
What makes Hyderabad’s farmers market culture so interesting is that it reflects a larger lifestyle transformation happening across the city
People are no longer searching only for products they are searching for experiences. They want authenticity over excess, quality over mass production, and meaningful connections over rushed convenience. Farmers markets bring together everything modern urban consumers value today: wellness, sustainability, creativity, community, and local culture.
In many ways, they represent the softer, slower side of Hyderabad a city that is learning to balance rapid urban growth with mindful living.
And perhaps that’s exactly why Hyderabad suddenly can’t get enough of them.
