THEATRE ON A PLATE: TG’S ORIENTAL GRILL POP-UP DELIVERS AN ASIAN GASTRONOMIC SPECTACLE
A Culinary Milestone in Hyderabad Hyderabad’s vibrant dining scene just reached a new zenith. To mark the first anniversary of TG’s at Hyatt Hyderabad Gachibowli, the hotel has orchestrated an exclusive pop-up collaboration with the legendary TK’s Oriental Grill from Hyatt Regency Delhi. For a limited time, food enthusiasts are invited to embark on a gastronomic journey that celebrates the best of Asian cuisine, where tradition meets innovation, and every dish is a performance. The Experience: Where Theatrics Meet Taste
Step into TG’s and you’re instantly enveloped in an ambience that whispers sophistication: earthy tones, glowing grills, and contemporary Oriental accents set the stage for an evening of culinary theatre. At the heart of this celebration are two culinary maestros—Chef Yogender Pal, Executive Chef at Hyatt Hyderabad Gachibowli, and Chef Robin Sharma, the virtuoso from TK’s Oriental Grill, Delhi. Together, they transform the dining room into an interactive stage, where every sizzle and sear is part of the show.
Live Grill Magic: The Art of Teppanyaki
The live grill is not just a cooking station—it’s the evening’s Centre piece. Guests watch in fascination as chefs wield their knives with precision, flipping, flambéing, and plating with a flourish. The air is thick with the aroma of caramelized onions and smoky seared meats, punctuated by bursts of flame as Chef Robin Sharma demonstrates his signature tricks—each movement a testament to his 17 years of mastery in Japanese, Thai, and Korean cuisines.
A Gastronomic Tour of Asia pop-up offers a captivating culinary journey beginning with comforting soups— Spicy Chicken Miso and Dan Dan Pork for non-vegetarians, and a fragrant Lemongrass, Asparagus & Edamame for vegetarians. Appetizers feature fresh Norwegian Salmon, Tuna Tartare, and crispy Teppan Seared Chicken Gyoza, alongside vegetarian delights like Shiitake & Enoki Gyoza and a refreshing Raw Mango & Papaya Salad. The sushi course balances bold and delicate flavors with Spicy Crunchy Salmon Roll and Yellowtail Nigiri with Ponzu Jelly, complemented by vegetarian Dynamite Roll and Confit Red Pepper Nigiri. Mains showcase expertly grilled dishes such as Chili Garlic Seabass, Lamb Chops, and Banana-Wrapped Seabass, while vegetarian options include Herb-Wrapped Steamed Tofu and Truffle Cream Mushrooms. Signature fried rice from both kitchens provides a perfect accompaniment. The meal concludes with a decadent Rum-Flambéed Chocolate Tart and a unique Wasabi & Jameson Affogato, blending rich chocolate with a surprising kick. Each dish reflects a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, crafted with skill and served with flair.
The TG’s Oriental Grill Pop-Up is not just a dinner—it’s a sensory celebration, a rare confluence of culinary legacies and creative flair. Every course, every flourish, and every interaction with the chefs is designed to delight, surprise, and linger in memory long after the last bite. As Mr. Piyush Sharma, Director of Food & Beverage, aptly puts it, “This collaboration represents our commitment to delivering innovative and memorable dining experiences.” Chef Yogender Pal and Chef Robin Sharma have indeed crafted a showcase that brings the spirit and soul of Delhi’s iconic TK’s Oriental Grill to Hyderabad, inviting guests to savor not just exquisite food but also the artistry behind it.
DR. SAHITI RAO
Dr. Sahiti Rao, a Consultant nutritionist, and physician, MBBS, M.S (UK), Board certified Nutritionist (USA). She now has practice in Chicago and Hyderabad. Travel as needed based on work commitments.
How did you get into Nutrition & Diet field?
As a teenager, I was stuck with a sedentary lifestyle. I was on a chair and studying for hours together, I barely had time even to walk or work out. But my mom, my savior made sure to bring me on the right track. I am indeed thankful to my family for all the constant support. That has made me realise people need medical guidance and this isn’t exactly something to be taken lightly. There must be lots of people like me who I could help as a doctor.
How do you assess a client’s progress and adjust their nutrition plan accordingly?
Generally, people approach me for weight loss and I have been diagnosing eating disorders, especially among youngsters like binge eating, bulimia, and anorexia nervosa which are the most common perplexities in today’s times. Once I understand their concerns, I diagnose and refer patients as needed and walk them through their path personally.
What inspires and motivates you?
Pursuing medicine and being a doctor is a childhood dream of mine. My father is my inspiration. He is well-disciplined and well-rounded and just a perfect human being to me. I always look up to him as my primary source of inspiration. Funny side, wearing pretty clothes and slaying those looks inspires on the fitness front. To look good and fit and be able to carry any kind of outfit with utmost grace and poise.
What do you do in your leisure time?
I’m an absolute shopaholic. I enjoy shopping trips with my girls. Right from street shopping for cute bindis to high-end fashion in the fifth avenue in NY. I have a book club with a few friends of mine in Chicago where we meet and discuss some intriguing topics.
How do you balance your workout routine with your other commitments? I have my schedule planned at least weekly. And I always make time for working out at least 5 days a week. So, I think good planning and discipline is all it takes.
How do you motivate yourself to exercise regularly and keep your diet in check?
For me, it’s a part of life, just like waking up, brushing, bathing, etc. one always needs to make time for themselves. Wearing pretty clothes and slaying those looks inspires on the fitness front to look good and fit and be able to carry any kind of outfit with utmost grace and poise
Any fitness & diet tips that you would like to give?
Dieting isn’t synonymous with starving. Treat your body like a temple. Eating right and working out and taking care of physical and mental health and seeking advice if necessary, should be a norm even if there isn’t something “abnormal” / disease per se
Rapid Fire
What’s your daily dose of happiness? My morning cup of coffee!
Fitness for you is?
Imperative! Physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
Food or Gym?
The gym I guess but followed by a mindful meal of course!
If you are given a genie and have to make 2 wishes what will you wish for?
Okay, this is a very tough one.
I’ll wish to be able to eat as many desserts and still be healthy (I have a sweet tooth)
This is very broad but - I guess peace & happiness for me and my loved one
If you are left in a supermarket and asked to pick up only 3 things what would you pick?
Hmm

DOUBLE BREASTED SUIT
Adouble-breastedsuit refers toa blazer thathas between three to four buttonson either side of the jacket. This style is very formal and sophisticated. This style is ideal for slim men as it creates a wide chest appearance. It is very elegant and works great for business and semi-formal events.
SINGLE BREASTED SUIT
A single-breasted suit refers to a blazerthat has one rowof buttonsand a narrow overlap of fabric. This style is a bit more relaxed and casual when compared to other styles. It creates an illusion of a taller and slimmer look. It is very grand, great for weddings and family dinners.
UNSTRUCTURED BLAZER HALF CANVAS
This style is very casual andrelaxed. The best part about an unstructuredblazer is that with the right colour coordination you can pair it with almost every event item in your wardrobe. You can pair it with a solid colour t-shirt and jeans. It's the perfect outfit for a day out on the yacht with the boys.
This looks more on the affordable side of the suits range. The half-canvas style features a sewn in canvas piece in the chest and lapel of the jacket and is fused down the bottom. Which makes this style much more breathable and comfortable. It's best for younger adults who are still new to suits.

“2022 is all about experimenting with colours. To stand out, one can go for experimental shades such as - green, cadmium yellow, island green and ice water. These can be paired as tone on tone or colour blocking.
FULL CANVAS
Full canvas is always the best quality and higher-priced suit in the market.
The main feature of a full canvas suit is that it allows the fabric to sit perfectly. Although it's pricey it's the most comfortable and flexible design in the market.
If you're up for some change then go floral. Floral prints are in trend for men at the moment. Though these suits need to be styled differently to be worn again, the pants can be paired with plain classic shirts for further use.
For accessorising your suit I suggest a pair of Chelsea boots for events and important occasions. One can also try combining shirts with crazy psychedelic prints with plain suits to give a quirky effect.”

“I feel men's fashion is not explored much in India. A great suit in my vision is a welltailored slim fit suit that has a narrow chest and waist style that gives a natural contour to the body. The pants style should be ankle fit so that it gives a straight look and increases the height. I prefer monochrome in light pastel colours, like a cinnamon pink shirt with beige trousers with a tan sleek belt and loafers. Light green top with a solid colour trouser like dark blue. Always accessorise I generally believe less is more but it has to be the right amount and cufflinks buttons are the best. Even the classic matching belt and footwear will do the trick for an effortless look.”

“When it comes to suits, it is very important to know the difference between good and bad fabrics. Incorporating suitable fabrics and the correct prints can totally transform your look. To achieve a sophisticated look, I'd suggest opting for light and monotonous colours. You can always throw an overcoat with the underlying textures and tones. While picking textures and prints for suits, flannels, Plaids, and pinstripes are the safest picks, make sure to pair them with neutral Chelsea boots and you are good to go. While shopping for suits, remember to pick soft fabrics that are breathable and make sure that your overall silhouette looks good.”
ROOTED IN CALM: WHY CELEBRITIES ARE TURNING TO TREE HUGGING
Feeling emotionally drained or longing for some grounding energy? You might want to take a cue from your favourite celebrities and wrap your arms around a tree. What sounds like a quirky act is actually rooted in science and ancient wisdom. From Nabha Natesh’s forest memories to Alia Bhatt’s playful post, stars are embracing this mindful practice — and the benefits go far beyond the bark. Tree hugging is fast becoming a nature-based therapy for stress relief, emotional balance, and spiritual reconnection.
By Shweta Watson
Salma Hayek swapped glamour for greenery as she hugged a tree in a striking green dress recently. Sharing the serene moment with her 28.4 million Instagram followers, Salma urged everyone to love and care for the planet — a sentiment she echoed in Spanish, underscoring the universal message of environmental mindfulness.
Hugging a tree has a way of calming both your body & mind: Nabha Natesh
“I inherently love nature, having grown up in Chikkamagaluru surrounded by trees and mountains. Recently, I learned that trees in a forest communicate with one another, sustaining the ecosystem through their incredible connections. Hugging trees feels different because you’re not just hugging a trunk — you’re embracing nature itself. It has a way of calming both your body and mind, while also making your soul feel deeply connected to the earth. In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to lose touch with ourselves, and nature is a beautiful way to reconnect and find balance,” shares Nabha.
Nabha recently took to Instagram to share pictures of her hugging a giant tree. She wrote along with the post, "Hugged a tree today... pretty sure it hugged me back. But really, it felt like the Earth giving me quiet permissionwhispering, 'You get to be here'."
Hugging trees triggers the release of oxytocin, known as the 'love hormone': Simran Choudhary “Hugging a tree has become my go-to for instant calm. It started as a random instinct, but diving into the research later showed there’s real science behind it. Dendrolatry, or tree worship, reflects ancient beliefs in the unique energy and life force of trees. Tree hugging was believed to connect individuals with nature’s wisdom and promote physical and spiritual healing. Scientifically, spending time near trees reduces stress, enhances immunity, lowers blood pressure, and aids in recovery from illness or trauma,” explains Simran.

“Sometimes all you need is a giant (tree) hug” – Alia Bhatt "I've enjoyed hugging trees in Africa!" – Elli AvrRam, on her Zimbabwe getaway
Tree Hugging: Expert-Approved
It’s not just celebrities — even psychologists back it. According to Dr. Diana Monteiro, “Beyond just the embrace, tree hugging is known to reduce stress, lift your spirits, and provide a much-needed emotional release. Recent research suggests that people living among trees are less likely to experience depression and unhappiness. So, just imagine the benefits of a heartfelt tree hug! Whether you’re surrounded by mountains, oceans, or dense forests, spending time in nature has a truly healing power.”
Tree Hugging Through Time
Tree hugging isn’t a new-age fad. In Japan, the practice of ‘shinrin-yoku’ (forest bathing) encourages individuals to immerse themselves in the sights, smells, and sounds of the forest for mental wellbeing. Indigenous cultures across the world have long acknowledged the spiritual and healing essence of trees. Native Americans saw tree hugging as a sacred ritual to absorb nature’s wisdom. In India, the ancient science of ‘Vriksha Ayurveda’ advocated leaning against trees to soak in their therapeutic vibrations.
Want to Try Tree Hugging? Here’s How:
• Choose Your Tree: Pick a sturdy, inviting tree in a peaceful environment.
• Embrace & Breathe: Wrap your arms around it, close your eyes, and breathe deeply.
• Stay Present: Tune into your senses and let the tension melt away, even if just for a few minutes.
So the next time you feel overwhelmed or out of sync, maybe all you need is a good, grounding tree hug.
THIS SELF-CARE MONTH, PUT YOURSELF ON YOUR TO-DO LIST
In the midst of our busy lives and the never-ending demands of work, home, and everything in between, it's easy to push our own needs to the bottom of the priority list. But health experts say it's time we rethink that. The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated June 24 to July 24 as Self-Care Month, culminating in Self-Care Day on July 24. The initiative is a timely reminder that self-care isn't a luxury — it's a necessity. And it isn't just about bubble baths or spa days (though those can certainly count!). It's about taking charge of your health and wellbeing in a way that's consistent, meaningful, and doable in everyday life.
By Shweta Watson
So, what exactly does self-care mean, and how can we incorporate it into our already packed routines?
What is self-care?
The WHO defines self-care as “individuals, families and communities promoting and maintaining their own health, preventing disease, and coping with illness and disability, with or without the support of a health worker.” That means it’s not limited to physical health alone — it also includes mental, emotional, social, and even spiritual well-being.
What does self-care look like?
Self-care can look different for each person. It could be as simple as curling up with your favourite book, listening to your go-to playlist, or even treating yourself to a manicure or pedicure after a long week. For others, it might be taking a walk, hitting the gym, or practising meditation to centre the mind and body.Still others might find
still others might find self-care in exploring a new hobby — whether it’s learning to dance, picking up a new language, or just cooking and savouring a favourite meal. Even wearing new clothes just because you feel like it, or making time for a full 8 hours of sleep, counts as valid and impactful self-care
The many forms of self-care
Self-care spans a wide spectrum. According to mental health professionals, it can be broken down into different categories:
• Physical self-care: Activities that benefit your body, like exercise, good nutrition, hydration, regular sleep, and medical check-ups.
• Social self-care: Making time for friends, family, and meaningful connections.
• Mental self-care: Stimulating the mind through reading, learning, engaging in puzzles or creative activities.
• Spiritual self-care: Practices like prayer, mindfulness, journaling, or simply spending time in nature.
• Emotional self-care: Acknowledging and expressing feelings, seeking therapy, or creating space for emotional regulation and reflection. And remember, what works for someone else may not work for you... And that’s okay. Self-care is deeply personal.
Expert perspectives
Dr Diana Monteiro, a psychologist, explains, “Selfcare is anything that rejuvenates and restores you. It’s about engaging in activities that make you feel cared for. Even stressful tasks can become more manageable with simple comforts, like listening to your favourite music — this too is a form of selfcare.”
Echoing that thought, psychologist Dr Srikanth reminds us that self-care is not a selfish act. “Spending time on yourself isn't selfish — it's essential self-care. When you're feeling down, confide in empathetic friends who can offer support. Just like on a flight, where you need to put on your own oxygen mask before helping others, taking care of yourself first enables you to better support those around you.”Self-care can also be deeply individual. For some, it's not about routines or rituals but about micro-moments of joy and presence.
“Self-care for me is spending time with my cat, Klaus, listening to my favourite songs based on my mood, catching the sunrise when I'm feeling down, and cooking a favourite meal since I live alone,” shares Yashwanth Podugu, a Technical Recruiter.
Swetha Chepuru, a Process Specialist, echoes a similar sentiment: “For me, self-care is about enjoying the little things in life — like having coffee, observing my surroundings, and appreciating the beauty around me.”
Celebrities speak up
Even global celebrities are prioritising self-care and opening up about their rituals and habits. Pop singer Demi Lovato once shared, “I do little things like self-care that seem simple but add up over time. You know, things like meditation or even just taking Epsom salt baths. You know, like aromatherapy, listening to music and crying, like getting your emotions out.”
Supermodel Bella Hadid revealed how sunlight helped her navigate dark times: “I always say that first thing in the morning, you have to start your day by staring at the sun. When I was going through a difficult time, I would pull myself out of bed, open the blinds, and then just stare at the sun.”
Actor Ian Somerhalder has also spoken about nature being a powerful reset button: “To connect with nature recalibrates your entire being (soul included) and I can’t recommend it enough. Its imperative. Sunlight, nature, cold, heat, exercise and turning technology off are small gifts you can give to yourself, your family or your company employees.”
Why self-care matters now more than ever
According to the WHO, over 3.6 billion people lack access to essential health services, and a projected shortage of 10 to 18 million health workers is expected by 2030. In such a scenario, self-care isn’t just a feel-good trend—it’s a necessity. When people are empowered to take care of their own health, it reduces pressure on healthcare systems, helps build resilience, and contributes to universal health coverage.
Self-care also plays a crucial role during health emergencies or humanitarian crises, when health services may be disrupted or inaccessible. Whether it’s something small like sipping a warm cup of tea at the end of the day, or something big like setting boundaries to protect your mental peace, it all adds up.
So this Self-Care Month, take a moment to pause, check in with yourself, and do something that fills your cup because as every expert agrees, self-care isn’t selfish. It’s survival.
I’m a daydreamer and spend a lot of time living in my head:
Ritu Varma
She may have started out as a shy child with stage fright, but today, Ritu Varma is one of the most grounded and versatile actors in the industry. As Devika & Danny continues to win hearts on OTT, Ritu opens up about her journey into films, her love for fitness and slow mornings, and the kind of roles she’s hoping to take on next. In a free-flowing chat, she lets us into her world…
By Shweta Watson
Q: What was your experience like stepping into the world of OTT with Devika & Danny?
A: Stepping into the OTT space with Devika & Danny has been a truly wonderful experience. I had been waiting for something fresh and unconventional, and this project ticked all the boxes. OTT platforms offer a kind of creative freedom that actors deeply value, and I felt that from the moment I read the synopsis — it just gave me a positive vibe. When I took the narration, I was drawn to the honesty of the story and the depth of my character. We had a strong feeling audiences would connect with it, and the response has been overwhelming. In fact, we’re already discussing plans for a second season! While working on OTT isn't drastically different from films, the shooting schedule was more intensive. I was constantly on set with barely a moment to spare. It was hectic, but in the best way possible.
Q: Did you enjoy working with your co-stars on the series?
A: Absolutely! Everyone on set was fantastic, and our energies really clicked—especially with Shiva (Kandukuri) and Surya (Vashistta). I genuinely can’t imagine anyone else playing those roles. Both of them are incredibly professional, hardworking, and natural performers. I’m excited to see where their careers go from here, and I’m definitely looking forward to collaborating with them again in
Q: Did you always know you wanted to be an actor?
A: Not at all. I was a shy kid and had stage fear, so acting never even crossed my mind as a profession. I still consider myself quite shy. I come from a family of educationists — my mom runs a school, my dad is a retired bank officer, and my sister works in the pharma industry. I once wanted to be an architect, and even considered fashion design. But I ended up doing engineering, and life took its own course. I participated in a pageant, did a few modelling gigs, and that’s when things started shifting. I got a short film offer from Tharun Bhascker, and soon after, film roles started coming in. As I continued acting, I discovered my true passion. It’s been 10 years now, and it still feels surreal.
Q: What kind of roles would you love to take on in the future?
A: I’d love to do a full-fledged, female-led action film. I’m naturally athletic and outdoorsy; I grew up playing tennis, basketball, badminton, skating, and cycling. Back in the 90s, we were always outside, never glued to screens, and that energy is still very much a part of me. I’d be thrilled to train in martial arts for a role, maybe play a raw agent or an assassin. I’m also keen on doing a full-length comedy. I’m expressive by nature, but I rarely get cast in fun, quirky roles. I feel like I’ve been a bit typecast. There’s so much more I can offer, and I hope filmmakers begin to see that. I’d even be up for playing a grey character—something layered and unexpected.
Q: What does a typical day in Ritu’s life look like?
A: I wasn’t much of an early riser before, but that’s changed. I now start my day early with some breath work and meditation. I really enjoy slow, peaceful mornings. After that, I have breakfast and head to the gym for a workout session. For breakfast, I usually go for eggs and toast or chia pudding. I also enjoy classic South Indian options like idli and dosa. Afternoons are usually packed with work meetings. Evenings are reserved for family time, and whenever I get the chance, I love catching up with friends or watching a movie, whether at the theatre or at home. I enjoy exploring new restaurants and trying different cuisines. On quieter days, I unwind with a good book or binge-watch something on OTT. And sometimes, I just like doing nothing at all! I'm very much a homebody at heart.
Q: You’re always so fit and toned. What’s your secret?
A: I work out about 3 to 4 times a week. Fitness has always been a part of my life. I usually do strength training and mix it up with Pilates to keep things balanced. I’ve always been on the thinner side, so my gym journey actually began as an effort to build muscle. Now, it’s a key part of my routine. If I don’t work out for too long, I start feeling guilty. I’m also big on self-care. I pay attention to what I eat, how I train, and even the kind of content I consume.
Q: What are some of the little things you do for self-care?
A: I can be quite an anxious person, so slow mornings really help me stay grounded. If I rush through things, it throws off my entire nervous system. I prefer easing into the day — making my own breakfast, eating clean, and keeping things calm. Sometimes, I just sit on my balcony, listen to the birds, and stare into the distance. It sounds simple, but it really soothes me. I think it also has something to do with being a Pisces. I’m a daydreamer and spend a lot of time living in my head.
Q: Do you love to travel? Where did you go last?
A: I’ve loved travelling since I was a child. My parents made sure we went on at least one trip every year, and that habit stuck with me. There’s something so enriching about exploring new places, cultures, and cuisines — it really shifts your perspective. My most recent trip was to Seychelles, and it was amazing. I’m a nature lover at heart, happiest when I’m around mountains or the ocean. For me, travel is both healing and calming. Positano, a cliffside village on southern Italy's Amalfi Coast, is next on my list.
Q: What does fashion mean to you?
A: Fashion, to me, is a way of expressing myself without saying a word. It reflects how I’m feeling on a particular day. I don’t follow trends — I just wear what I feel like. Comfort always comes first. I also love wearing mid-length dresses. And I wear saris quite often too, and people usually compliment me on them.
Q: Do you have any hobbies we might not know about?
A: I enjoy cooking. I often scroll through food reels on Instagram and try out new recipes. I like variety when it comes to food. I also read and paint from time to time. Travel is another hobby I love, though it can get a bit expensive. I’m not the most adventurous person, but skydiving is definitely on my list.

When the monsoon rains lash down in Hyderabad, there's no place I'd rather be than Roastery Coffee House. It's my absolute favourite cafe to cozy up in during that season. Their inviting atmosphere and delicious offerings make it a perfect haven. Speaking of delicious offerings, I can't resist their onion rings! When the monsoons hit, Katha Cafe is my happy place. Their menu is perfect for cozying up with a good book on a rainy day. I always struggle to decide between their Pesto and Bocconcini Sando, or the Buratta Pizza. No matter what I choose, a warm cinnamon latte or a Choco hazelnut latte is the perfect way to top it all off.

1. Can you describe your signature style or approach to makeup artistry?
My signature style is all about authenticity. I specialize in makeup that makes you look like you, just the most beautiful, polished, and glowing version of yourself. I style every look in a way that you won’t even feel like you’re wearing makeup, yet you’ll radiate elegance and confidence. Whether it’s for your big or a special occasion, my goal is to enhance your natural features without overpowering them. From brides to moms-to-be, party guests to professionals—I believe everyone deserves to feel effortlessly beautiful.
2. What are the biggest makeup trends for 2025?
The biggest makeup trend of 2025 is undoubtedly the “no-makeup” makeup look, which focuses on enhancing natural beauty with minimal, skin-like products. It’s all about glowing, well-prepped skin using lightweight tints or BB creams, soft cream blushes, and barely-there highlighters that give a dewy finish without looking overdone. Brown mascaras, brushed brows, and tinted lip balms complete the look, allowing the face to look effortlessly fresh and radiant, like you’re not wearing makeup at all, just a healthier, more polished version of yourself.
3. Which among them is your favourite trendy look, and could you brief about the look?
Among the current makeup trends, my absolute favorite is the no-makeup makeup look. I love how it celebrates natural beauty and focuses on skin that looks fresh, radiant, and real. It aligns perfectly with my style as a makeup artist—enhancing features subtly so you still look like yourself, just more confident and glowing. It’s elegant, timeless, and truly empowering.
4. What advice do you have for beginners who want to try trendy makeup without overdoing it?
My advice to youngsters exploring trendy makeup is to have fun with it, but always let your individuality lead the way. Trends come and go, but understanding your features, skin type, and comfort level is key. Don’t feel pressured to copy every viral look—use trends as inspiration, not a rulebook. Most importantly, invest in good skincare first, because great makeup always starts with healthy skin.
Sandeep Molugu
Ever since I was a kid, I have been inclined towards beauty. Drawn towards the beautiful actresses on the silver screen or models in fashion. Not only beauty, but also the clothes, the style, and the glamour made me the Sandy overall :)
I am popularly known as Sandy Artist, a celebrated celebrity makeup and hair stylist based in Hyderabad. 1. Luminous, Skin-Focused Base

I. Color-Blocked Statement Eyes
• Sandy is playing with vivid but controlled colors—like emerald greens, plum purples, or sapphire blues. Paired with neutral skin and nude lips to keep the look bold yet balanced. Popular for sangeet, receptions, and fashion editorials.
II. Blushed Lips & Cheeks (Monochrome Glow)
• A 2025 bridal favorite: same tint on lips, cheeks, and eyes for a romantic flush. Cream-based formulas in dusty rose, terracotta, berry, and mango sorbet are trending. Works beautifully with minimal jewelry and modern lehengas.
III. Botanical-Inspired Accents
• Influenced by nature, Sandy incorporates green-toned highlighters, pressed flower motifs, or petal hues subtly into the eyeshadow or cheek tones. Perfect for outdoor weddings, garden mandaps, or sustainable bridal themes.

3. What advice do you have for beginners who want to try trendy makeup without overdoing it?
Sandy’s Signature Advice for Beginners in Makeup Artistry
1. Start with Skin, Not Foundation
“If the skin isn’t prepped, the makeup will always look like makeup”. Invest in skincare knowledge—learn skin types, prep routines, and product compatibility. Always begin your work with a clean, hydrated canvas. Master primers and setting sprays before complex contouring.
2. Focus on One Face a Day Practice doesn’t mean perfection, it means awareness. Practice your technique on different face shapes and skin tones.Take one feature a day—eyes, brows, base, lips— and refine that.
3. Your Kit Reflects You
“You don’t need 100 products—just the right 20 used with intent.” Start with essentials: a versatile eyeshadow palette, good brushes, a skin-tone inclusive base range, and hygiene tools. Maintain a clean, organized kit— clients notice everything.
4. Learn Makeup History
Every look has a lineage. Understand where it came from before you reinvent it. Study classic makeup eras—1970s disco, 90s grunge, old Bollywood, Mughal-era bridal looks. Knowing history gives your work depth, originality, and respect for culture.

My career started way back in my 10th grade when I won national-level archery events. My coach mentioned my strong focus was why I won gold in my debut. As I graduated and went into sports management, my career took me to all sporting events - IPL, CWC, and World Cup Tennis. Decathlon head office, etc
There was another part of me, a very aesthetic side, who wanted to always look perfect. This trait was evident all throughout when my friends asked me to doll them up or asked suggestions regarding makeup. I decided to take a plunge into full-time makeup around 2020, and slowly, I started getting weddings and events. I am very grateful to the initial group of ladies in Bangalore, who were my sounding board and my well-wishers. With COVID, I started working on my content as well. Since my relocation to Hyderabad in 2021, I’ve carved a name for myself in the luxury bride segment. What truly has helped my career is my dedication to the craft and my desire to make every bride the most beautiful bride ever. I think of my job as not creating looks but memories.
1. Can you describe your signature style or approach to makeup artistry? I love creating soft glam looks. Dewy skin with beautifully highlighted eyes is my thing. I love adding a little bit of modern touch to my traditional bridal looks as well.
2. What are the biggest makeup trends for 2025?
In 2025, the trend is minimal makeup with fresh colour on the eyes and cheeks. less black, more of brown Kajal along with glossy lips and lots of Mascara.
3. Which among them is your favourite trendy look, and could you brief about the look? Trends are fun, but layering too much can be overwhelming.
4. What advice do you have for beginners who want to try trendy makeup without overdoing it?
Not every trend works for everyone in the same way. Modify the trend or intensity to suit the client's face and the event.

Edward Siro - Siro Makeup
I’m Edward Siro, a professional makeup artist and hairstylist with over 18 years of experience. Owner & Artistic Director – Siro Make-up Studio and Academy, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. It began as a hobby, styling friends, families, and experimenting on myself, and has evolved into a deep passion and a fulfilling profession that I live and love every day. My professional journey began in 2005 at Clara International Beauty School in Delhi. A major turning point came in 2009 when I joined MAC Cosmetics, where I gained global-level exposure, refined my technical skills, and grew into a more confident, client-focused artist.
1. Can you describe your signature style or approach to makeup artistry?
My style focuses on enhancing natural beauty with a fresh, radiant finish. I love working with light, breathable products to create soft, polished looks that highlight individual features without overpowering them.
2. What are the biggest makeup trends for 2025?
I. Soft Matte, Humidity-Proof Skin
Monsoon skin is all about balance: not too matte, not too dewy. Use lightweight, oil-free, water-resistant bases like: Tinted matte moisturizers, Silicone-based primers, Waterproof cream foundations
II. Blush That Won’t Budge
Monsoon heat = melting cheeks, so go for: Stain or liquid tint blushes, Cream-to-powder formulas, Shades like terracotta, soft berry, and rosewood (depending on your skin tone) that blend with flushed skin tones
III. Glossy Lips — But Smart Gloss
While gloss is in, heavy lipsticks aren’t monsoon-friendly. Go for tinted balms, satin lipsticks, or long-wear lip stains. Brown-nudes, berry tints, and caramel gloss shades are huge these days.
3. Which among them is your favourite trendy look, and could you brief about the look?
My favourite is number V, the last one.
Because it enhances natural beauty with a fresh, glowing finish. It’s light, effortless, and lets real features shine through — perfect for any season.
4. What advice do you have for beginners who want to try trendy makeup without overdoing it?
Start with one trend at a time and keep the rest simple. Choose shades that suit your skin tone, blend well, and make the look your own. The key is to make someone look natural and confident.

2. What are the biggest makeup trends for 2025?
2025 is all about minimalism-embracing fresh, breathable skin with minimal product. Dewy skin, soft blush, and glossy lips are making a huge impact.
3. Which among them is your favourite trendy look, and could you brief about the look I’m obsessed with the soft glam dewy skin look — glowing skin with minimal base, creamy blush, fluffy brows, and a glossy lip. It’s clean, chic, and makes you look like you woke up glowing!
4. What advice do you have for beginners who want to try trendy makeup without overdoing it?
Start with one trend at a time — if you’re doing a bold eye, keep the rest minimal. Pick tones that suit your skin and blend, blend, blend! Trends are fun, but your comfort and confidence should always come first. Less really

Canvas & Canines: Why Hyderabadis are painting with puppies
Move over paint nights and pottery classes — Hyderabad has a new weekend plan that’s stealing hearts, paws and all. ‘Paint with Puppies’ is the city’s latest feel-good trend where you can destress with a paintbrush in one hand and a puppy in your lap
- By Shweta Watson
Picture this: You're at a cosy cafe, brush in hand, lost in your artwork and feeling the stress melt away. Just when you think it couldn’t get any better—bam! A pack of Indie puppies comes bounding toward you, wagging tails and all, ready to shower you with cuddles. That’s the magic of ‘Paint with Puppies… A growing trend in Hyderabad where cafes are hosting weekend events that combine art therapy with puppy love.
At these events, attendees not only get to paint and play, but also have the chance to adopt Indie puppies and give them a loving forever home. “It’s been almost a year since we started hosting these workshops at Thrivesome, a pet-friendly cafe, and it’s been a hit! Many people looking to adopt their first pet dog see this as a great opportunity to interact with puppies… promoting the noble message of ‘adopt, don’t shop’ with Indie pups. Personally, I believe painting with puppies is a therapeutic experience. For a couple of hours, you can forget all your worries and stress and simply be in the moment, which aligns perfectly with our cafe’s core focus as a space,” shared Kirti Diwan.
Prathima Dhulipudi from Pawasana Hyderabad, who recently organised a workshop at Thrivesome, says the response was heartening. “It was a wonderful two-hour experience with around 40 participants. Youngsters were immersed in painting and having fun with the puppies… though it did get a bit messy! We offered tote bag and canvas painting, and people got really creative,” she shares. Pawasana collaborates with NGOs to bring Indie puppies to these events—many of whom are up for adoption. “We use this opportunity to encourage people to adopt Indie dogs instead of foreign breeds, which often struggle to survive in our climate,” she adds. Their most recent event was held at Madikeri Cafe in Jubilee Hills. The tickets are usually priced at ₹1,000 for students, ₹1,299 for stags, and ₹2,000 for couples.
Barket is another organisation bringing the ‘Paint with Puppies’ trend to Hyderabad. “We get a lot of kids at our workshops, so it’s a great space for them to interact with community puppies and kittens,” shares Sarang Mahajan.
“Our first event was at Tiger Lily cafe in June, and it was a fantastic turnout with around 45 participants! Hyderabadis truly love animals—they’re very welcoming,” he shares.
Barket works closely with foster parents and rescuers to bring in puppies for the events, many of whom are up for adoption. “We even follow up with people after they adopt, just to ensure the puppies are well taken care of,” he adds. The organisation also uses its profits to fund sterilisation and vaccination of stray puppies.
Tickets are priced at ₹1,000 for kids and ₹1,499 for adults. Sarang notes that their recent event received multiple adoption enquiries, showing just how impactful the initiative can be.
While art is therapeutic on its own, adding puppies to the mix takes the experience to a whole new level of joy and comfort. “Painting surrounded by the playful energy of puppies was an unforgettable experience,” says Aadya Madani, who attended one of the earlier workshops at Thrivesome. Diya Nayar echoes the sentiment, adding, “It was such a friendly vibe and atmosphere. I didn’t even realise how quickly time flew by. Being around so many puppies was incredibly therapeutic.”

My journey as a dermatologist has taken me across India, Europe, and Asia for advanced training, and it’s this global exposure that has deeply shaped how I practice. When I first came across ASCEplus Exosomes, I was fascinated by the level of research and regenerative potential behind it. Developed in South Korea, where dermatological R&D is among the most cutting-edge in the world, this innovation struck me as a natural evolution in aesthetic medicine. It aligned perfectly with what I advocate in my clinic: long-term skin and hair health, not just short-term cosmetic results. Bringing ASCEplus Exosomes to Hyderabad felt like a necessary step to introduce my patients to the future of skin and scalp rejuvenation, rooted in cellular repair and regeneration.
How does ASCEplus Exosome differ from traditional skin and hair treatments?
Traditional treatments often focus on surfacelevel correction—hydrating, exfoliating, or managing symptoms like pigmentation or breakouts. While those approaches have their place, they don’t always address the root cause. ASCEplus Exosomes are entirely different. They work at the cellular level, acting as biologic messengers that “talk” to your skin and scalp cells —stimulating them to repair, regenerate, and renew from within. What’s revolutionary about ASCEplus is that it’s not just about improving how the skin looks—it enhances how the skin functions. The same applies to the scalp. It supports healthy follicle activity, improves vascularity, and strengthens the barrier function, laying a foundation for thicker, healthier hair. In short, it’s a smarter, more holistic solution for people who are looking to age better, not just look younger.
Could you explain what exosomes are and why they’re considered effective in regenerative aesthetics?
Exosomes are tiny extracellular vesicles naturally secreted by stem cells. You can think of them as advanced cellular couriers. They carry potent bioactive molecules—such as growth factors, peptides, RNA, amino acids, and lipids—that help orchestrate repair and regeneration in our body. In the context of regenerative aesthetics, exosomes have emerged as one of the most promising frontiers. Unlike stem cells themselves, which are bulky and can face regulatory hurdles, exosomes are safer, easier to administer, and highly effective. When applied to skin or scalp through techniques like microneedling or microchanneling, they deliver molecular instructions directly into the tissue, boosting collagen production, reducing inflammation, enhancing hydration, and accelerating cell turnover. The result is visibly improved skin and hair quality, backed by biologic science rather than just cosmetic enhancements.
What specific skin and scalp concerns can ASCEplus Exosome address?
ASCEplus Exosome therapy is quite versatile. For skin, it can address dullness, fine lines, post-acne pigmentation, open pores, compromised skin barrier, and overall texture irregularities. It’s especially beneficial for patients who have undergone aggressive treatments in the past and need cellular repair. For the scalp, it’s ideal for those experiencing chronic hair fall, stress-induced shedding, early signs of pattern baldness, or scalp inflammation. It’s also one of the best post-procedure recovery boosters—after hair transplants or PRP sessions—because of its anti-inflammatory and regenerative effects. We’ve seen excellent results in patients with difficult-to-treat concerns like telogen effluvium and early androgenetic alopecia, especially when paired with other modalities.
How long does it typically take to see results, and how long do they last?
For skin, many patients begin to notice improvement within 10–14 days post-treatment, especially in glow, smoothness, and overall skin tone. The regenerative effects, like collagen stimulation and pore refinement, tend to unfold more fully over 3–4 weeks. For scalp and hair concerns, visible changes like reduced hair shedding and early baby hair growth typically become evident between 4 to 6 weeks. In terms of longevity, the results last several months—but of course, this depends on age, lifestyle, and how well the skin and scalp are maintained post-treatment. We usually recommend an initial protocol of 3–4 sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments every 3–6 months.
Is the procedure painful or invasive?
Not at all. It’s a very well-tolerated treatment. We use numbing cream beforehand, and depending on the area being treated, the exosomes are delivered either via microneedling, microchanneling, or even post-laser application. Most patients describe the sensation as mild, just slight pricking or tingling. There’s minimal downtime. For facial treatments, you might see a bit of redness or mild sensitivity for 24–48 hours. For the scalp, there may be a little tightness, but patients can usually return to regular activities the same day. It’s a great option for people who want visible improvement without the downtime of more invasive treatments.
Can ASCEplus Exosome therapy be combined with other beauty treatments?
Absolutely—and that’s one of its biggest strengths. At our clinic, we often pair ASCEplus with other advanced treatments like microneedling RF, fractional CO2 lasers, HydraFacial MD, or even skin boosters like Profhilo or NCTF. It enhances healing, reduces post-procedure inflammation, and amplifies results. For the scalp, we combine it with low-level laser therapy (LLLT), GFC, or QR678. Exosomes can also be used to support post-transplant healing or to boost the efficacy of mesotherapy protocols. The beauty lies in how seamlessly it integrates into personalized treatment plans for different skin types and concerns.
What advice would you give to someone considering this treatment for the first time?
I always tell my patients: Don’t chase trends, chase transformation. Exosome therapy is incredibly powerful, but only when it’s administered thoughtfully, by trained hands. Start with a consultation where your concerns are mapped clearly and your skin or scalp condition is properly assessed. Make sure you’re doing this at a dermatology-led clinic with a focus on regenerative medicine. Also, consistency is key. While you’ll likely see visible changes after one session, the true magic of exosomes lies in cumulative effects. Pair the treatment with a good skincare routine, balanced nutrition, and minimal stress, and you’ll see not just changes on the surface, but a genuine restoration of health and vitality from within.
How does this innovation align with current trends in beauty and aesthetics? We’re moving away from aggressive, “quick-fix” beauty trends toward a more holistic, skin-first approach. Globally, patients are demanding science-backed treatments that not only deliver results but also respect the biology of their skin and scalp. Regenerative aesthetics—using exosomes, growth factors, and bio-peptides—is the most exciting answer to that shift. ASCEplus sits right at the intersection of beauty and biotech. It supports the skin’s intelligence. There’s no over-processing or artificial plumping—it’s refined, elegant, and effective. That’s exactly where the future of aesthetic medicine is heading.
Why should people in Hyderabad choose your clinic for their skin and hair rejuvenation needs?
At Dr. Nishita’s Clinic, we bring together medical expertise, global innovation, and personalized care. Every treatment we offer—whether it’s exosomes or injectables or lasers—is performed only after thorough assessment and is delivered with clinical precision. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Our protocols are tailored for Indian skin types, lifestyles, and long-term results. What truly sets us apart is the integrity of care. We only offer treatments that we believe in, have tested ourselves, and that align with our commitment to safety, efficacy, and ethical dermatology. Patients walk into our clinic not just for a service, but for transformation, education, and a long-term partnership in their skin and hair journey.
A Valley That Whispers Back
Tirthan Valley doesn’t announce itself. It doesn’t crowd your feed, or line up behind hashtags. There’s no flash, no frenzy — just a quiet rhythm that lingers long after the journey ends. Nestled in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district and bordered by the Great Himalayan National Park, this secluded valley is one of the few places where time loosens its grip.
I found Tirthan not through an algorithm, but through a friend’s story — one told slowly, with the kind of softness that only comes from a memory well-kept. When I finally arrived, I understood why: Tirthan doesn’t just offer a change of scene. It offers a change of pace.
By Satpreet Kaur
Where Stillness Becomes the Experience
Unlike Himachal’s more popular towns, Tirthan doesn't try to entertain you. It gently persuades you to look up, look around, and most importantly, look inward.
Days here unfold gently. Mornings begin with the hush of the river — not as background noise, but as something that fills the space between your thoughts. The pine-scented air is thick with stillness. There are no honking jeeps, no overpacked cafes, no itineraries screaming for attention. In this corner of the world, doing nothing feels like a deeply intentional act.
The magic lies in the ordinary: walking barefoot in grass still wet with dew, sipping rhododendron juice as locals share stories of seasons, or watching apricots ripen on trees like nature’s quiet countdown to summer.
Stay: Where Comfort Meets Character
Where you stay in Tirthan shapes how you experience it. Each property here brings you closer to its landscape, and further from noise.
Gone Fishing Cottages sits like a well-kept secret by the riverside, where wooden decks catch the last light of day and every meal feels like something out of a handwritten recipe. It’s the kind of place where conversations stretch lazily over hot trout and cold evenings.
Up the road, White Stone Cottages offers sweeping views of the valley and a feeling of deliberate disconnection. It’s charmingly rustic without compromising comfort - the kind of place you check into and forget to check out from.
Then there’s Ausnya — a newer, boutique stay that blends clean design with a quiet ethos. Thoughtful aesthetics, minimal distractions, and hosts who feel more like storytellers than staff. Each of these stays captures a different tone of the valley — together, they score a slow, unforgettable symphony.
Flavours that Belong to the Mountains
The food in Tirthan isn’t just local — it’s lived. It belongs here, rooted in soil, season, and tradition.
I first tasted siddu — a steamed wheat bread stuffed and slathered in ghee — on a rainy afternoon. The sky was a soft silver, the fire crackling, and the dish arrived with no preamble. It was quiet, humble, and unforgettable.
There’s also trout — caught fresh from the river and cooked without complication. In these mountains, trout isn’t a dish. It’s a ritual. And then there’s the unexpected sweetness: sun-warmed apricots eaten straight from the branch, or the surprisingly tart kick of rhododendron juice — served cold and crimson.
And if you know where to look (or linger), you’ll find cafés like I Remember You — more living room than café, where time seems to pause and strangers often leave as friends.
What To Do When Doing Nothing is Enough
Tirthan doesn't offer activities; it offers experiences. And they come with no urgency.
Trek into the Great Himalayan National Park, a UNESCO treasure where nature is untouched and trails feel sacred. Spend the day following the river, or watching birds dart between trees like living confetti. Stop at a local’s home for a taste of Himachali Dham, the traditional multi-course meal often reserved for festivals.
Go trout fishing. Wander through tiny villages where time folds neatly between chores and chai. Or sit, simply — by the river, in silence — until you remember what it feels like to be unhurried.
A Place That Stays With You
There are trips that fill your camera roll, and then there are journeys that fill your silence. Tirthan, for me, was the latter, a soft, slow chapter that reminded me how much life lives in pauses. As someone who has spent years immersed in cities and stories, it was here, in the hush of the pines, the laughter of locals, and the rhythm of rivers, that I felt re-aligned.
If you find yourself tired of travel that feels like performance, come to Tirthan. Come not to conquer, but to listen. And maybe, like me, you’ll leave a piece of yourself behind, just so you have a reason to return.
