Hello, my name is Ernest Encarnado . I am a recent graduate of the Ara Institute of Canterbury’s Bachelor of Architectural Studies programme, who is currently seeking a position at a local architecture practice where I can gain experience and learn more about architecture and the design field. I consider myself as a fast and independent learner who is always open for growth and improvement. I’m reliable and very adaptive to various tasks given both individually and in groups. I find myself as a responsible and creative individual, who is quite attentive to details. I am passionate about architecture and would be interested in working on a residential projects, commercial projects and learning from industry mentors.

Youth centres are created for a variety of purposes, some positive by helping youth achieve their full potential and some negative to keep youth off the streets and out of trouble. Youth centres can play an important preventative role, because for some young people in difficult personal or domestic circumstances, the centre is the one place where they can meet safely, obtain the support they need and a place they can call their home.

The Mixed-Use Building project is located at 163-165 High Street in the city centre of Christchurch. It includes retail, hospitality, offices and apartments. The building took careful consideration for its surrounding context its facade was built with the same materials as the Duncan Buildings.

The objective was to design a conceptual single residential dwelling in Christchuch, on a sloping site. A villa for a family of four that will cater their needs and hobbies. The family enjoyed gardening and entertaining friends. The connection between the outdoor and indoor spaces was very important as they insisted to maximise outdoor experience.

The Performing Arts Centre project is located in the city centre of Christchurch. The building is a musical and dance centre. The buildings purpose is to provide entertainment and to gather the people of the Christchurch community, young and old. Providing music and dance performances such as rock, pop, jazz and cultural.
