59TH MANITOBA BULL TEST STATION Annual Bull Sale

welcome from the station president
Greetings on behalf the Board of Directors of the Douglas Bull Test Station. Welcome to our 59th annual sale. The Station has to offer you over one hundred bulls, twenty five heifers representing seven breeds as well as the popular ranch horse selections this year. Consignors from Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan have brought their best to the Station to have the performance of their stock evaluated and compared with their contemporaries. The role of the Station is to provide a controlled environment to determine test performance, provide breeder evaluation and a buyer offering from some of the most reputable herds near and far. To this day, evaluation of cattle remains our primary objective along with presenting to the buyer, a performance tested multi breed selection.
This year’s seed stock offering is very deep in quality and performance and has set the bar high for next year. Congratulations to the consignors! Buyers, your next herd sires, and foundation females are here at the Station.
We hope you find time to walk the pens prior to the sale, if not, contact the consignors directly, your best source of information will come from that conversation or our station Manager, Cody Nolan (204-573-4006).
“Sustainability” seems to be the buzzword I have heard and read the most this past year. A word that I feel symbolizes the Douglas Bull Test Station perfectly! Cody and the Board of Directors have tremendous pride in this facility. Since 1964, fifty nine sales later, we remain a long-standing tradition and will continue to be a mainstay in this province where the seller and buyer meet.

Jeff Ross
Station President

WELCOME from the station manager
Welcome to the Manitoba Bull Test Stations 59th Annual Sale! Calves are finally at the point where a guy can make some money in the cattle business. It was a great year for producers who were finally able to get some moisture and able to build up their feed stocks from their depleted inventory from the drought from the past couple years. I feel that this may be one of the strongest offerings that we have had to offer right from top to bottom of the pens. The bull and heifers have done very well this year on test. This is the first year that we will have some almost 2 year olds in the sale. There will be 5 bulls available, four Maine-Anjou’s and 1 Shorthorn. These bulls are ready to go out and handle a bunch of cows! This is your official invitation to consign stock for the 2023 test year. We offer developing bulls/heifers, as well as mature bull wintering program and a younger bull development. The development bulls/heifers are delivered to the test station within a 5 day period. Once the cattle arrive, they are on a full vaccination program. The test animals are put onto a warm-up ration for a month. This warm-up period is to ensure that all animals are put onto a level playing field before they begin the test. Once the warm-up period is over; the animals enter a 112 day development period where animals are weighed every 28 days, to ensure their gains are monitored. All bulls and heifers are CUP ultra sounded to determine the carcass characteristics of the animals. All sale animals are run through a breeding soundness evaluation to ensure that the animals that sell will go out to work. There is no better place to develop purebred stock so that they can be compared to many breeders’ genetics of the same breed and other breeds from across the prairies and Ontario. This is a very useful tool to gauge how every breeder is doing and finding traits we are trying to select for to improve the beef industry!

Please do not hesitate to contact Cody or visit the website with any questions that you may have. Follow our Facebook page – Manitoba Bull Test Station to keep up to date on what is happening at the test station.

RED Six Mile Mossy Oak 175H

BULLS Yearling
LADY BARBARA 545
KODIAK 88B

Looking for a calving ease bull but can add punch to your calves, than this is your guy! Colossal is a calving ease specialist but the calves grow and this guy is no excpetion. A real stout, thick bull who will be perfect for your heifers. Dam has a real tight, pretty udder and is moderate framed. Parent Verified. Free delivery and yardage till you need him.
Renicance hit the ground and never looked back. He is big hipped, wide topped, and an attractive patterned bull. His nine-year-old dam is big bodied and good uddered. This guy has the look and the pedigree Growth Fund x Net Worth, possibilities are endless.

These Growth Fund bulls are flat good and his progeny have been in high demand around the world. Undertaker has a modest BW and curve bending performance in an eye appealing package. His Hoover Dam mother is long bodied and good uddered and goes back to the great Echo cow family. Grab ahold here this guy can take a program in the right direction.

This bull calf has had the looks of a herd sire from day one. He is big bodied and muscular and out of a no miss, big bodied cow who ranks in the top 3% of the breed for ribeye, top 20% for weaning weight and yearling weight and top 25% for fat. His sire is SAV Resource who is in the top 1% of the breed for yearling weight and ribeye, the top 3% for weaning weight, top 10% for carcass weight and top 20% for fat. No doubt he has the look you are going for, his breeding shows he has the numbers to back it up.

This bull is about as big and as long as they come. His sire, GGA Maverick 8F ranked top 10% in breed for weaning weight, birthweight, ribeye and scrotal. On the maternal side this Six Mile Ranch cow ranks in the top 1% of the breed for yearly weight and top 4% for weaning weight. He continues to impress us with his gains and we look forward to seeing what his future holds once he hits his own herd.

This son of SAV Renown has been a pasture favourite all summer. He is one of the quietest bull calves we have ever raised. His father rates in the top 2% for yearling weight and top 3% for weaning weight and ribeye. His mother’s quiet temperament and easy-going nature combined with excellent udder make this bull a pleasure to work around and sets you up for years of excellent quality bulls or replacement heifers.
Sired by Lad 25H who was born in 1976 and was a leading AI sire with Alta Genetics at the time. Known for siring very functional, highly fertile cattle in every dimension. This son 55K will add length to his calves with a strong top line and good structure. He is recommended for heifers or cows as he is in the top 30% for BW. His dam is a moderate framed female who is in our donor program for a reason. She has 9 calves with a WW index of 108 plus an impressive calving interval of 359 days. He comes with a unique pedigree, he is parent verified and has had no creep feed of any type while on the cow. Just grass and milk!

War cry is sired by the old Battle Cry bull who has sired some very good cattle over the last 28 years. They have been very eye appealing but more importantly just good cattle that work. War Cry’s dam is a picture-perfect tank of a Bismarck daughter that is moderate framed with as much depth and thickness as you can put on a cow. I bought her out west at the Northern Select Sale in Alberta as my pick of the offering in 2017 and this is her first son she has had to date. I have no doubt War Cry will sire highly functional low maintenance females like his dam and maternal sisters. His sons will be well balanced with good gains while having the eye appeal to top the market! I recommend him as a cow bull. War Cry comes with a balanced outcross pedigree, he is sire verified and he had no creep feed of any type while on the cow. Just grass and milk!

This good Coleman Knight son is very easy keeping and will sire a great set of low maintenance cattle that will simply work in low input environments. Coleman Knight is a true muscle bull being out of the legend RR Rito 707 and out of the great donor cow Coleman Donna 714. His daughters are phenomenal and sons are what the breed needs to maintain good old angus character which has made this breed #1. Convenience traits at its best with the dam of 31K being a great producer with 13 calves with a WW index of 99 while having a high quality udder and consistently calving as one of the first cows every year. I would recommend 31K for heifers or cows as he is in the top 30% for CED while being in the top 15% for BW. 31K comes with a different twist on pedigree, he is sire verified and he had no creep feed of any type while on the cow. Just grass and milk!

This top yearling bull is a direct son to the great female making machine Sitz Value 7097 who is the maternal grandsire to Sitz Upward 307R among other breed leading sires. This is a rare opportunity to purchase a direct son of Value as they are very hard to come by. 75K is a good structured bull with a good top and nice hip. He is recommended for heifers or cows with his modest 80 lbs birthweight and being out of a first calf heifer. He is in the top 30% for CED and top 35% for BW. 75k’s dam is an impressive female with a beautiful udder, teat placement, feet, excellent disposition and she is moderate framed with easy fleshing ability built in. She is a direct daughter to our donor cow 35A who has done as good of a job at our place as you can ask of any cow. 75K comes with an outcross pedigree, he is parent verified and he had no creep feed of any type while on the cow. Just grass and milk!

Another blast from the past with a son of the 1976 born Lad 25H. Unique in many ways with Lad on the top side, Basin Payweight 107S and SAV Bismarck on the bottom side. This bull will sire feminine highly fertile females and his sons will be very docile, functional but not extreme in any way. Balanced breeding sums this bull up very well. He has good length of spine with a strong top and good depth of body. His dam 29F is a moderate framed, easy fleshing female that is proving to be a real asset on our farm. I recommend 69K to be used on cows with confidence. This bull comes with a rare pedigree, he is parent verified and he had no creep feed of any type while on the cow. Just grass and milk!
Prime Blackjack Willy 27K
Another thick made and very complete with that extra length of body. A bull that will put some more power in your cows along with solid maternal genetics.
A real complete well put together bull out of my senior herd sire. Blackjack Willy has done a great job for leaving thick made easy fleshing bulls and females as you can witness in this years offering. The 79B cow has done a tremendous job in my program as you you will notice she is the maternal grand dam to the 17K and 27K bull’s and maternal sister to the 9K and 46K hfr’s in the sale.Solid and proven genetics top and bottom in this calf that will propel your operation in the right direction for years to come.

An end of April bull that I have admired since birth and feel will develop into a exceptional breeding bull. The bottom side of his pedigree speaks for it self as the Tibbie cow will go down in history as one of or maybe the best cow families in the angus breed. A Maternal brother sired the highest gaining bull in the 2021 test station sale and was the high seller going to Taras Turko from McCreary,Man. with another brother going to Michael Peters from Killarney,Man.

Prime Blackjack Willy 48K

Prime Knock Out

HFR

Prime Equity 33K
I think he’s got a ton of potential and is starting to really come together nice.
constructed bull that’s bred to add pounds and inject strong carcass merits to your calves and also leave you some very productive females. His full brother was the talk of the test station last yr. This calf is out of a never miss cow. Maternal sister is working at Dudgeon’s in Ont.
Nice deep bodied calf with same extra style and performance. The dam is a solid producing cow with a perfect udder and teat size. Maternal brother sold in last years sale going to Garry Hamm from Stanley, Manitoba.
23 Elk Ridge Blackout

Quite an interesting genetic combination here. We bought his mom as a bred heifer at the Brooking invitational sale last year. Should pass on tremendous performance to add pounds to your calves with the Koupal Blackout/Renovation combo. 2 star calving ease.

Counselor 14K’22
If you are looking for calving ease with added performance, Counsellor is for you. Sired by the high selling Crescent Creek Counsellor and off a perfect uddered Remitall Farms first calf heifer who is stacked with performance. This bull’s heifer calves should make great replacement females going forward. Heifer friendly 3 star calving ease.

Elk Ridge Farms - Wade Bartkiw Rossburn, MB | (204)

When you walk in the pen, this guy can’t help but catch your eye. His smoothness, length of body, an overall eye appeal speak for themselves. His paternal grandma is Crescent Creek’s famous 101T donor cow; lots of cow power behind this guy. Heifer friendly 3 star calving ease.

JK Angus - Jeremy & Kerry Pilkey
Rossburn, MB | (204) 859-3474
JK Bruin 176K
Have a good look ! Out of our JK Bruin herd sire (Fuzzy) sire great for cows and heifers awesome feet and disposition! And out of a high functioning cow PJK 176C! A good one here!

This bull offers some outcross genetics out of Basin Max 602C. 17D has been a real productive cow always at the front of the breeding season! One of our favourites!
Classic 14K is a well put together Domain son that caught everyone’s attention in the pasture. Domain will add thickness, good feet and legs, and length of body in a moderate frame. He has excellent maternal strength producing daughters with great udders and good teat size. Classic 14K’s dam is a seven-year-old moderate framed deep bodied cow with great udder and teat size.

Edgar 16K is an impressive Quarterback son that has stood out above the rest since day 1! Quarterback’s pedigree has an excellent combination of Regard and Final Answer. He sires calves with superior phenotype adding length of spine, wide tops, great hip and breed leading feet and legs. A rare combination of both performance and maternal power. Edgar 16K’s dam is a six-year-old Resource daughter out of a Sitz Upward. She consistently produces top selling bulls and eye-catching heifers. You will not be disappointed with this bull!

Power bull out of an easy fleshing cow.

HOMO POLLED & HOMO BLACK - Here’s a good Homo Polled Homo Black Bounty Hunter bull. He had an October 6 W.wt of 923 lbs. January 21 wt 1343 lbs. His Cobra dam is a reliable cow with a nice tight udder. We bought her at the Pembina Triangle sale a few years ago from Bert’s NR. We are using one of her bulls in our own herd.

Farms - Gerald Massinon Haywood, MB | (204) 750-2150
MASS Kemosabe 23K
HOMO POLLED HETERO BLACK - This bull looked like a bull at a young age. He’s got a nice 80lbs birth weight. He had an October 6 W.wt of 1004 lbs. January 21 wt 1426 lbs. This True North bull is Homo Polled & Hetero Black. His dam is a quiet easy keeping black cow from Pure Country Simmentals. She’s raising a blazed face True North bull calf this year. Her heifer sold to Barrie Fraser from Carman last year.

MASS Kojak 25K
HOMO POLLED - This is a nice looking red Homo Polled Front Runner bull with some good numbers. He had an October 6 W.wt of 820 lbs. January 21 wt of 1191 lbs. He’s out of a Bert’s NR Tycoon heifer that we really admire.

MASS Kirk 21K

HOMO POLLED - If you are looking for a Homo Polled Fullblood bull, this Sensation bull should do the trick. Our 5 bulls had a straight oat ration in their creep feeder last summer. He had an October 6 W.wt 975 lbs. January 21 wt 1388 lbs. We appreciate his easy keeping, quiet, Antrim dam more and more every year. She has a real nice Sensation heifer by her side this year. Her bull calf last year sold to Big Sky Land & Cattle from Portage.
MASS Kyle 22K
He is a scurred half blood bull that is doing well. His sire is the Rocket 23Y Fullblood bull. He had an October W.wt of 921 lbs. January 21 wt of 1289 lbs. His dam is an easy keeping 12 yrs old trademark cow from Kopp Farms. Her bull calf last year, a full brother to 22K sold to Casey McCuaig from Portage.

OCF MR 154K

The dam is a dark deep red colour. She has a terrific udder with small teats and lots of milk. Her feet are untouched. Her first 2 calves were females and I retained both in my herd. State of War is a proven curve bender and needs no introduction.OCF 154K followed in his fathers path. His EPD’s put him in the top 15% for calving ease and top 20% for birth weight, weaning weight and yearling weight. He is in the top 25% for milk and to top it off he is Homozygous polled.

I have used Epic semen for a couple of year and it has been a pleasure. They are born with no issues and don’t stop growing. This bulls EPD’s are above average for calving ease and performance. Top 15% for calving ease, top 10% for birth weight, and top 15 % for weaning and yearling weight. He is a well balanced polled bull. His dam is a first calf heifer. She is an attractive lady with a tidy udder and clean feet and legs. Her mother is a great cow and it looks like she is taking after her.

He may not be the biggest bull there but take a look. He was raised by a first calf heifer. He boasts a 15.1 EPD for calving ease putting him in the top 2% of the breed, and is still in the top 30% for weaning weight and top 20% for yearling weight. His maternal strengths are also above average, being in the top 3% for maternal calving ease. This Homozygous polled guy may be the heifer bull you are looking for, perhaps a curve bender like his father.

These Epic calves sure do grow. With this great performance his EPD’s still put him in the top 10% of the breed for calving ease. You can expect his calves to gain like he has. He is ranked in the top 10% for both weaning and yearling weight. His mom and grandma never fail to produce a prize package every fall. They are the kind of females that have longevity and will be around for years . i believe this big fellow is an all around bull. He will give you heavy thick steers and productive replacement females. He is Homozygous polled as well. Take him home!

This guy is just like the other Epic sons exhibiting calving ease and exceptional performance .His mom OCF 74F is a dark red cow that is hard to fault. She has an exceptionally nice mammary system as do all the females from Rendzvous 618C. He also gave her the blaze face which she has passed on to all her offspring. This polled bull has the money stripe that is sought after by many. This calf has generations of sound females in his pedigree. He will give you steers with a little extra class and fancy heifers.

A son of the Agribition Reserve Senior Champion Simmental Bull Tableland Kaboom that was owned with Wheatland and R plus and did an exceptional job in both there programs.31K dam was Champion junior calf at AG-EX. Sired by the Blackjack Willy bull that has done a tremendous job for me and his sons and daughters are my featured sire group in the angus pens this yr.Here is a bull that is top quality in the flesh and on paper. A bull well worth investing in. HALF BLOOD SIMMENTAL BULL.

Sired by the $92,000 IPU Bentley 81F, this bull has alot of the same traits. Deep bodied, big hip, smooth front and to top it off the blaze face. His dam was purchased from Maple lake stock farms, she has been a no miss cow, her only heifer has been retained in herd. So don’t miss your chance to add performance and style to your calves with this bull.

Sired by the $92000 IPU Bentley 81F, this bull has been a stand out since birth. His power, performance and docility will be a perfect candidate for any herd. His mother was purchased from WLB dispersal where she has been a bull making machine. Don’t miss your chance to add him to you herd sale day.

This is my third year with bulls at Douglas, they have been well received by the buyers. The cow herd is all polled Fleckviegh Simmental with many being Homo Polled. Bar PS HomoPol Hektor 4K is the youngest bull. His dam is a very maternal animal, excellent udder, feet and temperment. Note his birthweight could be used in any situation in your herd. A very smooth built animal with potential in his future.

This bull comes from a cow with huge capacity. Don’t let the birthweight scare you, she is a larger animal. This cow has a very good udder and feet under her. Amazon would work well in any cow or larger heifer setting. He is a Homo Poll by pedigree. Both sire and dam were bred and raised on farm. All Homo Poll testing is done by Quantum Genetix in Saskatoon. The herd is Johnes Free.

IPU Bentley is a sire that has produced some very good progenyboth females and bulls. Originally bought by Jay Dawn Farms, he now makes his home at Perkin Land and Cattle of Souris. 44K’s dam is a big, powerful black blazed face, heavy milking cow. 44K is long, thick and good dispositioned. An attractive, blaze faced bull whose sire and dam are both blaze faced and the blaze runs deep on the dam’s side. Homo Polled test pending.

Calving ease and performance. Epic has become one of the go-to calving ease bulls for a lot of breeders. 40K started out at 82lbs and posted a 375 day weight of 1422. Remember his dam is a first calver - she did her job and more! 27H is very moderate framed and a heavy milker. 40K is deep ribbed, thick, good headed and has a super disposition. Homo polled by pedigree.

Badger Hill Maine-Anjou - Douglas Kerr Ninette, MB

We knew this guy was herd bull material from the start. His sire, Whisky 1F has been a game changer for our operation and his bull calves are just one more reason to like him. We truly admire this guy for his extra length while still possessing the depth and thickness needed in a herd bull. His dam is as powerful as they come with a picture perfect udder, good feet and a great temperament. This guy has what it takes to be your next herdsire!

Take a look at this guy! Deep, thick and powerful! 8K has turned heads all year and is the style of bull we’ve been aiming to produce for many years. With Stockman 4Z in his pedigree, predictability is built in. The Muffin cow family has done many great things for our herd and we‘re sure this guy will pass on strong maternal traits to his heifers and pack the pounds onto the steers. A very strong set of EPD’s behind this bull with an impressive WDA. Here’s one you don’t want to miss!

Calving Ease
This bull is very long bodied with good bone along with adequate depth and a good quarter. He is very masculine in his appearance. His dam has been a strong producer raising heifers that sold in the top end of the Alliance sale in Saskatoon along with raising herd bulls one of which we used on heifers last year prior to selling him to a commercial breeder.

10K is one of the thickest made bulls in the pen this year. He has great width over his top and quarter along with plenty of depth and stands on a great set of legs and feet with a wide base and a nice amount of bone. His dam is sired by a Cumberland Gay Lad son we purchased from Horseshoe Creek and his daughters have been some of the easiest fleshing cattle we have had on the farm.

This is a real nice roan Picasso son. He is very wide topped and has a good quarter and depth of body. His young dam traces back to the Gus line being a daughter of a Gussy 24Y son out of the Maid 62 cow that Munroe Lehne had in his herd and raised many top cattle. His dam is a phenotypically good cow with an impeccable udder. She traces back to the Muridale Sue line which left us many top end offspring and we are retaining the old Sue cow’s Picasso son this year to use in the herd to carry on the blood line of her and Picasso.

13K is a very thick made bull which is very typical of his Dam’s production. This is the last calf out of her as she was open this fall but she only raised one heifer calf and all the bull calves have been in the bull pen and near the top end every year. The dam was a Gus 15U daughter and an ideally made cow with moderate frame and a lot of body depth and barrel along with a good udder. This guy is sure to mature into a top herdsire.

5K
Commercial breeders take a serious look at this fellow. This guy is as maternally strong as you will find. His paternal grandmother is 18 years old and still producing - KL Gold Rose has 48 progeny registered in the US and 7 in Canada. KCC Big Ticket’s maternal grandmother is a purebred simmental cow that produces a keeper every year. If you want to build a cowherd, buy with confidence. His high Heterosis Effect of 29.66 will enhance maternal ability, reproduction, health, cow longevity and overall cow productivity. With a gestation of 281 days, this guy is above average on the majority of EPDs, with a whopping $BMI of 141.06. Don’t let this guy slip by. HOMO POLLED.

His Clipper dam is a young Prince daughter with great structure and her first calf is producing fine calves at Poplar Creek Farm in Alberta. 100K tested and Myostatin free.

JT Kraken 15K
If you are looking for a bull to stamp meat, muscle shape and ruggedness into your calves then Kraken is one to consider. Powerful built with a stacked pedigree of bulls who produced the same. His dam is an excellent Brenda cow who produced a full sibling sold to Star P Farms in the 2022 sale. 100K tested and Myostatin free.

JT King 25K
Here’s another free moving and stout Diamond Cutter son. Smooth built front with lots of middle. His Dam is a moderate built Massive Major daughter that is correct with a great udder. This bull is not one to miss. 100K tested and Myostatin free.

RT Kahlua 10K
Deep, strong topped, masculine are a few ways to describe Kahlua. This bull is a son of Grissom who has done fantastic in our herd with bulls like Burwash, Transport and Stockman backing his pedigree. Kahlua’s dam is a full sister to Diamond Cutter and is a hard working cow. 100K tested and Myostatin free.

If you follow shorthorn pedigrees then this bull should excite you, his name is a nod to the double shot of CP Stockman up close but the true depth of his pedigree is tough to beat. Raised by a first calver and part of the first crop of calves out of Heimdall this calf has shown masculinity and superb muscle definition from a young age. Inside or on the top 20th percentile for 14 of 16 EPD traits. Should be heifer safe. 100K tested and Myostatin free.

Herbourne Shorthorns - Bill & Isabel Acheson Somerset, MB | (204) 744-2525
Herbourne HHB Klondike 10K
This bull is correctly made, performing well up in the top 1/3 of the Shorthorn bulls on test, but still comes with a lower birth weight. His dam, backed by sires such as Paintearth Rama 53U and Saskvalley Corporate 21C, is a first calf heifer that was an easy performance topper in the 2020-21 heifer test. This calf has 1 copy of a Myostatin gene so fits well as a terminal sire to give a new owner calves that will have an extra punch of muscle and performance. 10 K’s sire comes from a herd of ranch raised cattle that are not pushed for max performance but brags to have trouble free calving and survivability with minimal attention.

GENOMICS TESTED.

Cam Poll Kasper
Kasper is a sale feature. He has that herdsire look. He combines numerous traits that the industry has been searching and breeding for years. Kasper is a Lim-Flex combining Limousin and Angus genetics, breed leading calving ease, performance, muscling, maternal and docility. His mother was one of the real difficult cows to part with in “ The Final Chapter” as she has a great future. If you want your next herdsire to have an exceptional dam and a proven, reliable sire, Kasper should be your choice. GENOMICS TESTED. HOMO POLLED.
Look for Kilowatt. Kilowatt is a 69% Lim-Flex bull that is a truly special individual. Balanced EPD’s being in the top 1% for docility. If you want to add thickness, muscle and performance Kilowatt is your choice. One of the the top performers in the Limousin pens. I can’t find enough words to express my admiration for his dam, maybe one of the best cows that has been raised at Campbell Land & Cattle. ENERGIZE YOUR PROGRAM WITH KILOWATT
GENOMICS TESTED.
DOUBLE POLLED

Pine Creek Kingpin
Pine Creek Kingpin is an Amaglen Epic son. Epic was a top gaining bull out of Douglas in 2018. Kingpin is an easy moving double polled and double black bull who’s dam has sent three bulls to Douglas.
DOUBLE POLLED
Sired by our new AI sire who’s first calf crop for us has been nothing short of great and out of a female who was purchased out of the Western Select Limousin Sale as a calf and has turned into a very visually appealing female. Check out the WW, YW, and Carcass EPD’s on this guy-above breed average in all! Make sure to take an extra look at 95K and admire him for his natural muscling, width, and depth through his middle. This bull just keeps getting better with age. Use 95K on your commercial cows to add extra pounds or turn him out with the purebreds with his outcross pedigree. Herd bull material!
DOUBLE POLLED

Another bull sired by Cottage Lake Big Star who fits the mold pretty well pretty well with what Big Star has been giving us. Out of a cow we purchased in dam from Campbell’s reduction sale who has a lot of maternal power behind her. MTF 53C is a moderate framed cow with a nice udder on her that she has passed on to her daughters that are now in production. Like the other Big Star progeny, 72K carries the muscle, width and depth that the limousin breed is known for. 72K has above average EPD’s in WW, YW, Carcass Weight, and Calving Ease which makes 72K a candidate for the heifer pen but could also cover some cows. DOUBLE POLLED

What better way to round out our sale offering than with yet another Big Star son. Can you say consistency? Despite being the youngest bull in our offering he definitely does not lack size and performance being stamped with the muscle and depth that we have found the Big Star progeny to have. With this, 123K is going to have the ability to add pounds to his progeny. His dam, 28Z, has put a couple bulls into the bull pen for us as well as a daughters in the herd. Bid with confidence on this guy! DOUBLE POLLED

This bull had herd bull stamped on him from day one. He is a long body bull with lots of depth. Comes with a great se tof EPDs plus out of a first calf heifer. Also double polled. Sire to 2K is New Life Home Run NLL 1H. Our first calf crop is amazing. Calves have lots of eye appeal and volume to calves. Very impressive set. Be sure to checkout ARM 2K.
DOUBLE POLLED

This young bull was a stand out as a calf. His dam ARM 91C always raises the good ones. 91C is a quiet cow with tons of volume and lots of milk. Also 119K is double polled. The sire to 119K is RPY Paynes Cracker 17E is outstanding herd sire. Calving ease, volume and eye appeal. ARM 119K will be an asset to any program. Be sure to check him out.
DOUBLE POLLED

Dark red performance bull here. We reached back in time and used a bit of Anders Poll Cash semen last year and he really clicked with 37K’s dam. She’s an absolutely perfect uddered half-blood Lim-Flex cow going back to the immortal Soo Line motive. Cash calves know how to grow and 37K is no different. Turn him loose on a set of red cows and you’ll have a set of solid red steers the neighbors will be jealous of.
DOUBLE POLLED
Heifer bull deluxe. 73lb bw and top 10% of the breed for Calving Ease. 32K is sired by the breed legend TMF Kodiak. Kodiak daughters were a staple in the limo breed for a long time so you can expect strong maternal traits along with the calving ease 32k’s dam has brought to the table. She’s a strong uddered, docile, 4 year old that I have high hopes for. I retained her bull last year and used him myself.
DOUBLE POLLED

This is a great bull to begin the Hereford portion of the sale. He puts it all together with a low birthweight and strong performance numbers. Genetically he ranks in the top 10% of the breed for Feedlot Merit Index, top 15% for Birthweight and Weaning weight and top 20% for Yearling weight. His dam is an excellent producer. She has produced one of our current herd bulls.

Heifer Approved-Low birthweight option. His dam is a good, fault free, moderate framed female. This bull ranks in the top 15% of the breed for Maternal Productivity Index. He’ll produce wonderful females.

This is our heaviest Weaning Weight bull and he was the heaviest at the 84 day point of this years feeding trial. His sire, Globe Trotter, is a phenomenal bull. Fully Loaded follows in his footsteps. The dam is a cow that originally comes from Flyer Cattle Company. We purchased her as a calf after being crowned champion female at the Manitoba Field Day. His Great Grand dam won Reserve Grand Champion at the Canadian Junior Hereford Nationals.

XLP Bullseye 132K

Bullseye 132K is a very attractive bull. Wonderful markings and dark colour. His sire has been one of our top heifer bulls for a number of years. If you look back in his pedigree you will see there are Champions from Agribition, Denver Stock Show and the Toronto Royal Winter Fair. In fact the dam of the current Denver Champion bull is a paternal sister to Bullseye’s dam.
Gaining 6.43 lbs/day at the 84 day weight!!! This is spectacular. He is sired by the popular NJW Authority. His dam is a near perfect cow with an udder to die for. Genetically this bull ranks in the top 4% for Feedlot Merit Index, Top 8% for weaning weight and the top 10% for yearling weight.

This is a younger option to choose. He will go good on the heifers. His dam has a perfectly square udder. His pedigree is loaded with great females from our strongest cow families.

BULLS Two-Year Old
These bulls were developed on the same ration and for the same period as the yearling bulls and then sent home for the summer and lived on grass. They then came back to the station late December and were put on a light backgrounder ration till sale day. They are ready to go out and be put to work!

PRIMO 5153
PRIMO HITMAN 1H
DARK SECRET 2D
THUNDERBIRD 036B
A fancier type of heifer with some grow to her. She is sure to be a great cow just like her mother. Her mother has lots of milk and is very moderate framed. This heifers half sibling was Reserve Champion Junior Bull Calf Champion in Brandon in 2021. Sire of this heifer sold in this sale in 2021 and has some show pedigree on the sires side. She is halter broke. Free delivery and yardage till you need her.

Here’s a end of April hfr with a ton of style with a bright future in front of her . Her sire has done a bang up job for me and produced the highest gaining bull on test last year, selling to Aurel Voden. This pride family is a potent, predictable and well proven cow family. 17K,32K,37K,9K and 46k all go back to the 18u cow. I have always kept any females from this cow family. So 9K and 46K will be the very first females to sell from this family. The home work is done by with confidence and enjoy ride.

Prime Angus Ranch Inc. - Shaun & Amanda Bryce Arcola, SK

A thick deep ribbed easy fleshing female out of a moderate frame Tour of Duty cow. The grand dam is a big soggy made traveler 23-4 female. A maternal sister sold through Agribition sale selling to the well known and respected Crescent Creek Angus operation. 25K has a
future ahead of her.

A hfr not short on style and performance. A female you have to admire for that added length and extra extension through her front. The Erica family originated from the well known and respected (Clarke Family) of Bar Kay Cee Angus. This will be only the second female we have ever offered out of this family. The first one we sold was to Diamand T Angus and went on and did a tremendous job in there program. 13k is a female that I feel will make a positive impact in anyone’s operation for years to come.

A well balanced sound made attractive female sired by Blackjack Willy out of a Mar Innovation female and her mother 18U is an elite female in the Angus Assoc. This Pride cow family is one of my best cow families.

JK Marion 19K

This heifer has been performing well! Backed by a AI pedigree and comes from a long line of cows with perfect udders!
Out of a high volume cow family! Good feet and udders! Will make a great female! Always at the front of the calving season! Some of the quietest cows on the farm!

This Bruin 223E heifers maternal sister was high selling angus heifer last year (Crescent Creek Angus)! She is a fancy heifer that comes out our foundation Erelite cow Family!

This Moonshine sired daughter out of the Diamond family carries calving ease and performance genetics. Moderate framed, put into her your choice genetics and she will put calves into your keeper pen.

HOMO POLLED - A Homo Polled Bounty Hunter black heifer with some performance in her. She had an October 6 W.wt of 783 lbs. No creep. January 21 wt of 1149 lbs. Her dam is a solid dark red Southam Western Force cow with a good udder. Southam Simmentals from Elm Creek bought her heifer calf last year.

HOMO POLLED - A Homo Polled thick Affinity daughter that I really like. She had an October 6 W.wt 779 lbs. No creep. January 21 wt of 1085 lbs. Her dam has a nice udder, is quiet and easy to AI. She is a Blue Chip daughter we bought from Rainbow River Simmentals.
This April calf was a standout since day one and is packed full of growth and performance. Whisky has stamped everyone of his heifers with a flawless design and 27K is no exception. Deep bodied and wide topped in a very feminine and clean package. Her dam, Herbourne BGG Doris 6B does an exceptional job each year and is one of the easiest keepers we have in the herd with an outstanding udder. We truly believe that this is the type of heifer that anyone can build a herd around, bid with confidence on this one!
keeping cows on the farm with great feet and a perfect udder while

Here is a heifer we’ve debated keeping since the start but with her potential to be on a halter we are giving you the opportunity to own her! Another true representation of the Whisky heifers right here. Extra length and muscle in a very flashy roan package! With MLSF 5901C in her pedigree, you just know she will work. She was our first papered female we purchased and has been the blueprint for the heifers we hope to
This one was from the top of the herd and your not going to want to pass her up!

Uphill Juanita 4K
The Juanita female line was purchased from Shadybrook originally and has done nothing but good things at Uphill. They always have a perfect udder, the Granddam was 12 years old when she left here and had the udder of a 3 year old cow. We have retained a lot of Juanitas over the years and they are very productive females. Look at what the line has done at Shadybrook. Buy with confidence!

Uphill Cathy Joyful
This is the first calf crop from the Royalty bull and we are excited about his future here. The two heifers offered in the Jewels Sale in Brandon were very well received. This heifer is not the biggest but has a lot of body and natural thickness and will grow into a top female. The Cathy Joyful line has produced very prolifically for us and this one should not be any different.

We purchased the dam of this heifer from Paintearth Shorthorns a few years back and she has produced 3 heifer calves to date all of which have been top heifers. She is a no nonsense cow that lays down and calves each year no problem. The female line has been a top producing family of females at Oram’s for years. The Picasso bull is no longer here so daughters will be few and far from here on so grab on while the opportunity exists.

Armac Shelley Rose 7K
What can I say about Shelley she is a nice feminine heifer with lots of good traits. Her Dam was a heifer. And the Dam has the bloodlines of JT Transport 36 A and the Rose family in her. On the top side Prospect Hill Clay 56 C , with Balmoral Oaks Eagle 9 X as sire to Clay. Armac Shelley Rose 7 K will make a great addition to your herd. FREE DELIVERY if bought in the Interlake area.
916 Birdtail Remembrance 30K
Birdtail Remembrance 30K is a good gaining heifer from Saskvalley Copyright 20C. He left us heifers that are performing well in our herd with good udders, feet, along with calving ease. Her dam is nicely outcrossed with Eionmor 80C and Four Point Major back in her pedigree. These are the last of the Copyright daughters.

A feminine shaped heifer from Birdtail Everyday 50E who has left us really good calves every year. Her dam, Birdtail Florence 38B is out of Eionmor Ultra 83U who walked the Birdtail hills for 8 years, leaving heifers with great volume, feet and udders. This heifer should follow these trait too.

JT Heroine 21K

Poplar Park Farms - John Thompson Hamiota, MB | (204) 764-2382

Poplar
A Diamond Cutter daughter with lots of volume and an easy keeping loose hided look to her. Built square and correct just like her mother. This heifer comes from a line with a lot of longevity built into them.
JT Heroine 45K
Another no miss Diamond Cutter x Heroine blend, this heifer has a fresh feminine look to her along with a deep and square profile. Again there is longevity built into this line and has a maternal sister sold through this sale in 2022.
JT Heroine 44K
If you will believe it, another Heroine… and guess what? Top 1 percentile for stayability (remember what I said about longevity in the Heroine line?) Built similar with a strong top, and square profile. Brood cow features you want to have in a heifer.

Herbourne CPG Kit Roxie 2K
CROOKED POST RED ROSE 11P
Moderate framed, reasonable birthweight, predominately solid red factor colouring, especially on the dam side. Her 6 year old dam has proved herself: excellent udder, sound, easy fleshing, excellent feet and legs. Just like her daughter in the sale exhibits characteristics for a long, productive life. With Crooked Post Grissom as a sire and the performance of the females on her mother’s side, there is nowhere to go but up in the performance of her calves. Cycled early and is ready to go right to work for her new owner. She is tested negative to all 3 variants of Myostatin.
