HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DLMS FARM GATE TIMED AUCTION WITH EXTENDED BIDDING: 1.Visit dlms.ca and follow the link to the DLMS Farm Gate timed auction site www. farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/ REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots, or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your username and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.

2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.

3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by the time listed on each sale. In most cases the time gets shorter the longer in to extended bidding the sale is. When no bidding occurs for the extended time the computer will declare the sale finished.

5. Following the sale the Consignor or Sale Manager will invoice all buyers in the sale, please contact the seller with questions or to arrange delivery, pick up or shipping of your purchases.

This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.

HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORK? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time.

Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

Welcome to the 3rd annual HS Angus Bull Sale. Wow! What a beautiful winter it has been. Cattle prices are at all time highs and as I write this at the end of January we are sitting at plus daytime highs! As many of you have noticed or will notice in the coming days we have decided to switch formats this year and go with a DLMS race horse style sale. This gives everyone a truly equal opportunity on every bull in the offering.

We feel we have put together a tremendous set of bulls for the offering this year. They are animals with calving ease, growth, and maternal quality. The type of bulls that will help assist your program no matter what you are trying to accomplish in the coming years. As always the bulls are bred and fed with longevity in mind. The cows behind these bulls are animals we are truly proud of. We are constantly evaluating and re-evaluating to ensure the dams of our registered animals are nothing less than the best cows on our farm.

A huge thank you once again for everyone who has supported our program. Without all of you, our program wouldn’t be where it is today. This year we will be hosting our open house in conjunction with the sale on the 16th of March. However as always we welcome you to tour our herd at any time! If you can’t make it through the cattle in person feel free to reach out to us or our listed sale day phones. We are all cattle people first and will try to represent the offering with honesty and impartiality. We stand behind our cattle 100% and wouldn’t allow any animal to carry the HSA prefix if we wouldn’t be happy to have it in our own pasture. We look forward to seeing and hearing from you!

WHY HS ANGUS? YARDAGE

We offer free yardage on all bulls until June 1st. However if you prefer to get your new purchase home before that we are happy to accommodate.

DELIVERY

We are very accommodating with delivery and will deliver TO YOUR DOOR for FREE in most cases.

INSURANCE

We will split the cost of insurance for the first year with you. Simply provide us with proof of insurance on your bull and we will write a check back for 50% of the bill.

AFFORDABLE

100% of HS Angus bulls to date have sold in a range from $3000-$8000.

SENSIBLY MANAGED

We feed our bulls in a very large pen to a targeted average of 1200-1250 lbs on SALE DAY. Which We feel allows proper evaluation of genetic differences while avoiding over fleshed animals.

This calf has been a standout since day 1 and has caught the eye of both big name seedstock breeders and astute commercial producers alike with his style, length, and masculine look. His sire is the breed legend Kodiak 5R who has proven himself time and time again. His dam combines 2 of our strongest cow families Northern Girl and Blackbird and includes animals largely familiar to those who follow our program in Mandan 0263, Northern Girl 5C, and Blackbird 29E. PARENT VERIFIED. SAFE FOR 2ND CALVERS+ Born unassisted to a first calf heifer, he is smooth enough to calve with ease but I would caution his use on heifers due to a higher birth weight.

This guy is a maternally loaded power bull. With a ton of length, an extra shot of frame and good depth this guy will sire the type of steers that top the market year in and year out. His granddam 20D was the first cow to reach ELITE status and with bulls like LRT, Daquantae, and Baloo expect the daughters to be awesome. 11L is hairy and stands on an excellent set of feet and legs.

PARENT VERIFIED. SAFE FOR HEIFERS. This is something I have never said about any bull we have raised before… 22L IS A BREEDER BULL!! This calf is incredibly complete both Phenotypically and Genotypically. A calf without any major holes from the ground up. 22L stands squarely on a nice big foot, he moves like a cat, is big nutted, has a great disposition and is seeming to display an incredible libido. He is the most 3 dimensional bull in the pen with tremendous thickness, depth, width, masculinity, a proud front, and a true angus head. He is backed by 2E who was our first show heifer and stood up tremendously well in a very competitive division at showdown as a calf before becoming a foundation cow here. She is from the Northern Girl cow family that originated here and continues to write a more impressive story with each passing year. We calved our first 516 daughter out and she is really ringing the bell with her first calf. Check out the consistency of the cross in this catalog, come see this guy’s half sisters in our replacement pen. This is one that has jumped through all the hoops!

You really have to respect the job that the 16H bull did here, it is truly a shame we lost him to injury at such a young age. 17Z has produced 6 sale bulls, 3 daughters retained and a daughter to Glasman Farms.

This calf is a meat machine; Wide, thick and deep with tons of hair. His dam was the high selling straight black cow from the Double C sale in the fall of 22 and this neat calving ease prospect was the coupon inside. His dam raised multiple feature animals for Double C and with calves like this is well on her way to doing the same here.

Terms & Conditions PAYMENT

Payment is expected in full within 30 days of the sale close unless prior arrangements have been made. All settlement must be made in full before cattle will be released or papers are transferred.

BIDDING

Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to bid on-line, may phone their bids in to the listed representatives.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Announcements made at the time of the sale will take precedence over printed matter in the catalog.

Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements.

LIABILITY

Although every precaution will be taken, all persons who tour the pens do so at their own risk.

The owners assume no liability, legal or otherwise in the event an accident occurs.

BREEDER GUARANTEE

All bulls sell with the responsible breeders guarantee outlined by the Canadian Angus Association. Which means you are guaranteed a sound fertile bull capable of servicing a reasonable number of cows. HS Angus does not warranty physical injury or mismanagement. Bulls will be semen tested before the sale. The seller will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for more than the original purchase price of any animal.

DECISION DEFFERED

Bulls selling as decision deferred have been deemed likely to pass by breeding time in consultation with our vet.

Terms on decision deferred bulls are half at sale time and half after they pass semen test. In the event the bull does not pass, your deposit will be refunded or put towards another bull based on your preference.

YARDAGE

All animals left at HS Angus, are left at the purchaser’s risk. HS Angus will provide the animals with reasonable care and attention, but assume no liability in the event of sickness, injury, or death.

INSURANCE IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED Yearling bulls can be kept free of charge at HS Angus until June 1st.

DELIVERY

HS Angus offers free delivery within a 300km radius. Delivery can be arranged to further distances at no more than cost. Bulls will be delivered to your door at the convenience of the seller as close to the requested time as possible.

INSURANCE

Ownership risk to purchaser commences immediately following the sale.

We strongly recommend that you insure your purchases.

SEMEN

The consignors reserve the right to in-herd semen use on any bull sold in the sale, with the semen drawn at the consignor’s expense and the buyer’s convenience.
