As we reflect on the success of Agribition 2018 it is difficult to single out any one part of the show that was a standout highlight, not because of mediocrity but due to the balance and strength that each piece of the show presents. Some of the successes of the week were livestock sales which were again very strong, especially given the realities of fluctuating markets combined with a challenging growing and harvest seasons for many areas of Canada. Entertainment attendance was high and there was once again a strong contingent of international buyers who attended the show. There were new attractions added to the already strong entertainment profile, and the Agribition Pro Rodeo was once again a cornerstone attraction. These are successes that we can all be very proud of, and would be impossible to achieve without the dedication and support of our exhibitors, sponsors, staff, Board of Directors, and countless volunteers. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all who dedicated their time, energy, and talents in helping make the 48th edition of Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) a huge success! We are focused on planning for the 2019 show and discussing ways to enhance programming while we also work towards our 50th Anniversary in 2020. The CWA Annual General Meeting will be held on April 10 and we encourage all of you to attend and be part of the election of the CWA Board of Directors. If you are interested in running for the Board please feel free to contact myself or any CWA Director. This AGM will end my tenure as CWA President and I am very proud of what we have accomplished as an organization over the past two years.
