CWA President, Stewart Stone
Message From The President As fall approaches, Agribition activities are in full swing. Planning by committees and staff is now taking shape as we approach the final few weeks before show week. Thanks to those committee members who have given their valuable time, ideas, and energy throughout the past year. Interest from sponsors and exhibitors has been most gratifying. Showtime volunteers are preparing to contribute again in their respective areas. We could not do it without you! The announcement of a new International Trade Center this summer was the culmination of years of effort by many Agribition supporters. It will be an exciting facility addition and we are looking forward to its completion and occupancy. With your support we have worked hard to ensure Agribition is sustainable into the future. Earnings are re-invested back into Agribition improvements and sustainability. While Agribition is a not-for-profit corporation, your board recognizes that like all organizations, we need to provide for facility improvements and new programming development. Our operating income over the past few years has positioned Agribition to meet these challenges. Some notable improvements over recent years include the addition of heat and lights into the commercial cattle barn, paving of the Stockman’s arena floor, purchasing of new steel for the Yards, and investing in handling and traceability equipment. We also anticipate making a capital contribution to the new International Trade Center. Finally, we have set aside a contingency reserve of $225,000 for any unforeseen economic challenges. Agribition 2015 is shaping up to be an exciting combination of exhibition, competition, entertainment, and fun. On behalf of the Board and staff of Canadian Western Agribition, I sincerely thank you for your own significant contribution to the show. I look forward to seeing you at the show in November!
Stewart Stone, President of Canadian Western Agribition CWA 2015 Board of Directors
