On behalf of the Government of Saskatchewan, welcome to the 2022 Canadian Western Agribition.
For over 50 years, Agribition has welcomed local, national and international producers, businesses and guests to our great province. This globally-renowned marketplace showcases the best in livestock, new technologies and agricultural products. Agribition highlights what Saskatchewan has to offer as a world leader in genetics, feed and forage development. This world class event also exposes participants to industry innovations, Indigenous agricultural opportunities, entertainment, local food and much more.
Agribition plays an important role in building public trust in the industry by inviting consumers, students and families to see where their food comes from and how it is produced. Livestock producers are leaders in maintaining a strong and resilient agriculture sector. Events such as Agribition demonstrate the major role they play in keeping the industry sustainable in ever-changing markets. Their stewardship of the land and animals produce safe, nutritious food and help maintain the beautiful prairies we call home.
I would like to thank Canadian Western Agribition volunteers, sponsors and exhibitors for all their hard work putting this show together. Without them, this exceptional event would not be possible.
To all guests attending, enjoy the 51st Canadian Western Agribition.
SCOTT MOE, PREMIER OF SASKATCHEWANOn behalf of my City Council Colleagues and the City of Regina, I want to welcome you to the 2022 Canadian Western Agribition.
Regina continues to have the honour of hosting Canada’s premier livestock show. From our residents to visitors, we all look forward to coming together to showcase the incredible work being accomplished in the agriculture industry.
Agribition has become known globally as one of the top agriculture shows. The show has everything from livestock events and sales, rodeos, expos, demonstrations, musical entertainment, and an abundance of exhibitors offering various products - this event has something for everyone.
I want to express deep appreciation to all the volunteers, staff, and sponsors for their continued dedication and commitment to Canadian Western Agribition. Regina is lucky to be home to some of the most hardworking individuals in Canada. Through your teamwork and community building, we will continue to host one of the world’s largest and best livestock shows.
To those visiting our city, I encourage you to explore some of Regina’s wonderful attractions. Take a stroll through Wascana Park, the largest urban park in North America. Learn the history of the RCMP at the RCMP Heritage Centre, where Mounties have trained since 1885. Or get a little crafty in our booming micro-brewery and micro-distillery scene in Regina’s historic Warehouse District. With many unique shops and excellent restaurants, you will surely discover the warm and friendly spirit Regina is known for.
I wish you a great 2022 Canadian Western Agribition!
SANDRA MASTERS, MAYOR OF REGINAOn behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, it is my honour to welcome you to the 51st edition of Canadian Western Agribition! Agribition is a truly unique agriculture event, showcasing the Canadian agriculture industry and the western lifestyle with the support of our dedicated volunteers.
Agribition has a reputation as the best beef show in North America and the largest livestock show in Canada including commercial cattle, bison, sheep and alpaca shows. The Ranch Rodeo, Horse Pulls, Chore Horses and Stock and Cattle Dog competitions add to the excitement.
In addition to the leading livestock genetics showcased at Agribition, we host a world-class agricultural trade show, the Maple Leaf Finals Rodeo, and the Grain Expo. Our registered education programming includes in-person and virtual components for students of all ages. Our Indigenous Agriculture Summit offers insight into the culture and agricultural initiatives of Indigenous people in Canada.
Our next generation compete at Agribition in the Canadian National 4-H Judging Competition, Youth Showmanship and Team Grooming. Don’t miss them competing in the open livestock shows as well. The CWA Scholarships will be presented during the show, so watch for the winners and your opportunity to support this program.
The excitement of our show extends to the entertainment events throughout the week ending with the Party in the Dirt following both the Friday and Saturday evening rodeo performances.
STARS Air Ambulance has once again been designated as CWA’s official charity. CWA is proud to support STARS and their important life saving work.
Agribition is a destination event for exhibitors, visitors and international guests from around the globe. The Agribition experience is one you don’t want to miss and I look forward to seeing you at the show!
KIM HEXTALL, PRESIDENT, CANADIAN WESTERN AGRIBITIONOn behalf of the Government of Canada, I would like to wish a warm welcome to everyone attending Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) 2022. As one of North America’s premiere beef and livestock genetics events, CWA offers a unique blend of agriculture, business opportunities and festive entertainment. It is a tradition that has carried on for over 50 years, attracting visitors from all over Canada and the world.
I would also like to thank our world-class Saskatchewan producers, ranchers and farm families. You have shown incredible resilience in the face of unprecedented challenges, including a pandemic, extreme weather, labour shortages, supply chain disruptions and Russia’s brutal attack on Ukraine. Despite these challenges, you continue to deliver the very best food and livestock genetics, helping to keep our communities and Canada strong.
Looking ahead, Agribition will continue to be a key driver of Canada’s economic recovery, facilitating new sales and market opportunities for Canadian producers and processors with customers around the world. Our government will continue to partner with Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector to increase exports in growing markets, such as southeast Asia, while advocating for a global trade that is based in rules and science.
Producers across the country are working alongside the federal government to ensure we remain a world leader in sustainable agriculture and to increase our resilience to climate change. To help drive these efforts and capture the economic opportunities that lie ahead, earlier this summer, Minister Marit and I co-hosted in Saskatoon the annual federal-provincial-territorial meeting of agriculture ministers. There, we reached agreement on the new Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, which will increase the sector’s competitiveness, revenue and exports over the next five years and continue to help position Western producers as a world leaders in beef and livestock genetics.
Congratulations to the organizers, volunteers and exhibitors on another exciting show. Wishing everyone an Agribition to remember!
MARIE-CLAUDE BIBEAU, MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND AGRI-FOOD CANADAOn behalf of the Office of the Treaty Commissioner of Saskatchewan, we must acknowledge the Treaty lands that allow for us to be here at Canadian Western Agribition: Treaty Four Territory, the homeland of the Nakawē, Nehiyawak, Nakota, Lakota, and Métis peoples.
For more than 50 years people have gathered at this agriculture show for information, expos, entertainment, demonstrations, and exhibitors. Over the last eight years we have seen, importantly, the addition of an Indigenous Agriculture Summit. In the past this has included conversations about food sovereignty for Indigenous Communities.
Agribition serves as an opportunity for the expansion of international contacts, and increasingly we see Indigenous communities, from across the province, becoming part of that conversation.
Industry leading agricultural businesses must continue to create policies that include Indigenous knowledge and experience to better their businesses. Indigenous knowledge has developed over thousands of years, and traditional ways of knowing can support agriculture in a time of difficulties for so many around the world. Indigenous Nations have a tradition of agriculture and innovation in agriculture.
As you attend this significant event take the time to engage with Indigenous communities, and cultural activities and make new colleagues, friends, and acquaintances.
As Indigenous Nations thrive in agriculture, as we share this Treaty land, we can make a positive change in Treaty relations and together to further the work of economic reconciliation.
MARY CULBERTSON , TREATY COMMISSIONER OF SASKATCHEWANSaying that we are excited to welcome everyone back this year would be an understatement! The passion for Agribition runs deep and I was privileged enough to experience that during the heart of a pandemic. As we approach a sense of normalcy, we are excited to celebrate another year of Agribition with all of you.
For far too long we were unable to travel and gather, but as we enter our 51st show, it is only tting that we get to welcome back over 1,250 international buyers, delegates, and friends from over 86 countries.
Along with our international guests, we are excited to welcome back some of our younger members of the Agribition family. CWA’s Education Program will return, with over 10,000 eager students coming to learn where their food comes from.
We will be kicking the week o , once again, with free admission on Monday, November 28th, courtesy of our generous partners at CN. Folks can come and get a rst look at items to cross o their Christmas lists, or scout what they will be putting on their own. This will also give everyone an opportunity to come and take in all the phenomenal food and events taking place throughout the day. Make sure to take this time to wander through the barns and experience the true backbone of Agribition.
Returning for another year will be the Maple Leaf Finals Rodeo. Bringing the toughest athletes on the planet under one roof to go head-to-head with one another over four days, with over 100,000 in prizes on the line. Complementary admission on Wednesday, November 30th will also be returning, courtesy of The Mosaic Company, where people can come and cheer these athletes on and experience an unmatched electric atmosphere!
Make sure to mark your calendars for Friday and Saturday night as we have brought back, by popular demand, the Party on the Dirt following both weekend rodeo performances. Not only can you watch the champions be crowned, but you can top it all o with some great music amongst some great people!
Heading into my rst year as CEO of Agribition, I am honoured and humbled to have the opportunity to lead an organization with such rich history, brand recognition, and respect that CWA has earned over its initial 50 years. I cannot wait to celebrate the launch of the next 50 years after the perseverance shown by sta , volunteers, producers, and exhibitors throughout the pandemic. On behalf of all of us at CWA, its Agribition time, now let’s make this one for the record books!
Agribition is an event anchored by tradition, but it is also constantly evolving. Each year there are more and more exciting things to do at Agribition!

The Winners Circle Horse Pull Sponsor Auction has been a long running event at Canadian Western Agribition, giving people a chance to put their names on the powerful teams of the Canadian Horse Pull Finals happening the following day in the Brandt Centre Arena.
The Canadian Horse Pull Finals, held throughout the day on November 29th, is a display of brute strength that is hard to imagine until you see it with your own eyes. These majestic horses and their teamsters put on a show like no other. The competition requires true grit as each team attempts to pull the heaviest sled across a 14-foot space. The weight of the sled is increased for each pull until there is one team left standing.
Join us Monday, November 28 at 7:00 PM in the Chevrolet GMC Arena for the Winner’s Circle Horse Pull Sponsor Auction.

Canadian Western Agribition is proud to have STARS as their official charity of choice and is grateful to have Ritchie Bros. partner with Agribition to present the STARS Online Charity Auction. The STARS Online Charity Auction will be hosted on the Ritchie Bros. online platform and will open for bidding on Saturday, November 26th. The online auction will be open all week long and will close Saturday, December 3rd. The auction will also be on display throughout the grounds on the event TVs throughout the week.
The beneficiary of the proceeds for the auction is STARS Air Ambulance. STARS is a non-profit, charitable organization that provides specialized
emergency medical care and transportation for critically ill and injured patients. Simply put, STARS fights for life.
The sight of a red helicopter is a beacon of hope for those in their moments of need. Since establishing operations in Saskatchewan in 2012, STARS has flown more than 5,000 missions to over 500 communities across Saskatchewan from its bases in Regina and Saskatoon.
About 50 per cent of the funds required to operate the service in Saskatchewan come from fundraisers and corporate, community and individual donors - that’s $10.5 million the charity needs to raise annually.
When you support STARS, you ride along with us on every mission. You put the most advanced tools in our hands. You help ensure our crew receives the top training. Only together can we ensure that each person who needs emergency medical care receives it. Together, we are all STARS.

Forafourthyear,CWAishonouredtodeliveroneofthemostcomprehensive agriculture mentorship programs in Canada. Since 2019, CWA is proud to have guided four cohorts of mentees and mentors through the Next Gen Agriculture Mentorship Program. The program is delivered in partnership with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture and the Government of Canada through the Canadian Agriculture Program (CAP), and supported by a CWA partnership with Conexus Credit Union. The Next Gen program is an 18-month mentorship experience where eight mentees are strategically paired with eight mentors to better understand the issues facing agriculture, business, fi nancial literacy, ag advocacy, consumer trends, public trust, building board governance knowledge, communication, leadership, and networking skills along the way. The Next Gen program’s fourth cohort will continue into 2023 as they finish up their 18-month program.
If you are interested in becoming part of the Next Gen Agriculture Mentorship program, call the CWA offi ce or go to www.agribition.com for more details!
“The Next Gen Agriculture Mentorship program really is just pure opportunity. Everything it has to off er invests back into you, the agriculture industry as well as other working industries. Along with all the opportunity it has to off er, you form many endless professional connections with the fellow mentees. Many of these connections grow into friendships. If you have a goal you wish to accomplish and need a helping hand - this program has a goal oriented structure that can really give you an extra boost to complete tasks. Every event put on through Nex Gen that I have attended I have taken countless life lessons, skills and laughs away from. Aside from all the skill building Nex Gen allows for, it is also so much fun. If you or someone you know is thinking about applying I would strongly recommend them to. I can not say enough good things about Canadian Western Agribition and the Next Gen Agriculture Mentorship program.”
— Morgan Follensbee,“I strongly suggest applying for the Next Gen Mentorship program because it really gives you the opportunity to tailor what you get out of the program, dependent on what you put in and what is important to you. This program has helped to grow my overall confidence in every aspect of ag. The knowledge I have gained along with my new connections have helped me not only become more involved in our own farm but has made me a better advocate for Ag education and public trust! I have also grown in my career in agriculture, as a producer and as a person because of my mentorship and for that, I will be forever grateful! I loved that the different cohorts were brought together for events and networking because the friendships truly will last a lifetime!”
— Sandra Hessdorfer, 2021-2022 Mentee
“I recommend the Next Gen program to all of my young farmer friends. It is such an amazing experience and a work at your own pace program, that has let me work, be a part of the farm and be in the Mentorship!
I was paired with a wonderful advisor and mentor, Joe Barnett, who has given me advice more than just relates to the program!”
— Grayson Berting, 2021-2022 Mentee
2021-2022
Mentee“The Next Gen program was fantastic. I was very lucky to have a mentee who was eager to take advantage of every opportunity that was provided and was committed to growing and learning as much as she could over her 1.5 year program! She should be your poster girl for the impact of this program. There are going to be some exciting successes as a direct result of this program”
