The Real Christmas Story Around the world, Christmas is such a great time of year as many “shift gears� a bit. Enjoy the lights, elaborate decorations, cards, Christmas trees, caroling, cookies, hot chocolate, and little kids in Christmas plays. Catch up with family or friends. Don’t forget the homeless and those in care centers. Invite the lonely to Christmas dinner. Start your chores earlier on Christmas Day so you have more time to relax and enjoy.

Still, we must pause and tell you the real story of Christmas. God created a perfect world and man chose to sin against God. So from Adam and Eve forward, the curse of sin was on all mankind and the whole world giving us death, disease, weeds, wars, famine, etc. God even sent Moses and the 10 Commandments, but mankind sinned against those as well. No man can keep them - they merely show all mankind is guilty and under God’s wrath facing eternal hellfire and torment. But the Good News came, and praise God it did!

God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, born to Mary and Joseph in Bethlehem’s manger because the inn was full. (See Luke 2:10-20) Jesus is Emmanuel - “God with us.� He never sinned and later laid down His life on the cross in payment for all our sins and rose from the grave to give life eternal in Heaven. (John 3:16) Have you received that Gift of forgiveness and salvation? Just repent and ask God to save you and give you eternal life in Heaven. Do it today!
