We are Korko

Cork allows us to create soft and silent toys, which are warm to the touch and nontoxic. This way we can ensure safe play.

Cork is naturally climate neutral. A cork oak retains large amounts of CO2 in its bark. Furthermore, the trees don’t need to be chopped down as they are harvested. Following the harvest, the cork bark will grow back within 9 years. Regular removal of the bark also helps to absorb further CO2 from the atmosphere. In this way, our partner Amorim absorbs up to 4.6 million tonnes of CO2 in its Portuguese cork oak forests per year.

This brand was conceived by its founderNeena Jha – who realized that in today’s fast paced life, children throughout their early development process still need simple, engaging toys to improve their motor skills and spark their initial creativity. As a mother herself, she noticed when raising her young family that iPad app’s for young children were becoming the norm, and the small beautiful interactive toys she played with as a child, were missing from the toy store shelves. As a mother who also understands that our role in minimizing adverse impact to our planet and its natural resources, Neena set out on a mission to bring to market all natural and safe toys, created in an environmentally and socially responsible manner, that inspired fun and creativity amongst children.

Neena founded Fair and Green Toys in 2014. Fair and Green today has relationships with international artisans and craftsmen that hand produce one-of-a-kind toys for children 6 months and older. It is the gentle loving touch of the craftsman’s hands that bring these beautiful toys to life. Through these toys, Neena wishes to create a sense of wonderment and motivate spontaneous play in children.

About SaveAFox Rescue

SaveAFox Rescue is located in central Minnesota.Many of the foxes at SaveAFox come from fur farms, as pet surrenders, or seized from their owners as the result of a illegal situation and then brought to SaveAFox. Most of the fur farm foxes at SaveAFox are given to us because they are orphaned, imperfect coats, sick, or injured, and therefore a liability or of no value to a fur farmer. Some pet surrenders come to us because people purchase a fox without understanding how extremely difficult, they are to care for, while other pet foxes we receive were seized by authorities after found being kept illegally.

To date, they have rescued approximately 150 foxes from certain death.
