JON LEHRER who was raised in Queens, New York, took his very first dance class at age 19 at the University at Buffalo. While dating a dancer, Jon teased her about how easy it must be to get an A in a dance class. The girl dared Jon to try a beginning level modern dance class and his life was changed. Jon ultimately received his BFA in Dance from the University at Buffalo.
As a professional, Jon has danced with the Erick Hawkins Dance Company, Paul Sanasardo, John Passafiume Dancers, in Merv Griffin's "Funderful" in Atlantic City, NJ, and the Radio City Rockettes Christmas Spectacular. In 1997, Jon was hired by Giordano Dance Chicago, the world’s preeminent jazz dance company. After only three years he was promoted to Rehearsal Director and then became the Associate Director two years later.
Jon has choreographed for several professional dance companies and universities all over the country. He teaches master classes throughout the U.S. and around the world. Jon has received many awards and honors, including the University at Buffalo Zodiaque Dance Company

Distinguished Alumni Award, CNADM’s Artistic Achievement Award, University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences
Distinguished Alumni Award, and the “Rising Star” SPARK Award for being an integral part of Buffalo’s thriving arts and cultural community.
Jon Lehrer Dance Company has already received much critical acclaim and notoriety nationally and internationally. Under his artistic direction, JLDC showcases Jon's unique choreography and embodies his definitive style. His extensive background in both the modern and jazz dance idioms fosters choreography that is organic, artistic, accessible and often humorous, reflecting life experience and the human condition.

Astronaut

OCTOBER 12 • 7pm $25 AND UP | $20 LIMITED VIEW
TERRY VIRTS retired from the space program after having achieved nearly everything he ever dreamed possible, including serving in the U.S. Air Force as an F-16 fighter and test pilot, piloting the Space Shuttle Endeavour, serving as Commander for the International Space Station, and conducting three spacewalks during a 200-day mission in 2014 & 2015.

During his seven months in space, Terry led a multi-national team that included Russian Cosmonauts, U.S. and Italian Astronauts, during some of the tensest relations with Russia since the Cold War, and through 3 onboard accidents that resulted in an extended stay in space. While there, he took more than 300,000 photographs and hours of video—the most of any space mission before or since. These images form the backbone of the IMAX film, A Beautiful Planet, featuring Terry and narrated by Jennifer Lawrence. National Geographic published View from Above, a book featuring some of his best images alongside his reflections on spaceflight, stewardship of life on earth, and our place in the cosmos.

BASED IN FLORIDA'S FRIENDLIEST HOMETOWN, "THE VILLAGES PHILHARMONIC" IS A PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA PRESENTING THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE STANDARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN MUSICAL PERFORMANCE SINCE 2003.
Most members live in the Orlando area but we have regular members who come from as far afield as Jacksonville, Tampa, Daytona and St. Petersburg. The Philharmonic gives 13-15 concerts per year and so we don't provide full time employment for any of the players. Our players are comprised of resident and international artists who collaborate with symphonic and operatic companies at large. Although most orchestra members are not Villagers, there are two professional orchestra members who are Village residents and there are six amateurs who train each Saturday so that they can meet the standards required to play with the Philharmonic.

“…It is because she is a great singer and a great actress, that she does not imitate Piaf ... but that she is Piaf on stage! ..."
Alain Delon, Legendary french actor
Starring by the internationally acclaimed NATHALIE LERMITTE
Singing is certainly a true vocation for Nathalie Lermitte. At the age of six, she joined a rock band (led by her father). The day of her eighteenth birthday is also the day of the release of her first album "Tu es tout ce que j'aime".
In 1995 she opened for Michel Leeb at the Olympia with Herbert Leonard. 1989 marks her first steps in musical comedy: she is engaged in "Starmania" where she will play the role of Cristal. A few months later she played the role of Wendy in the musical comedy "Peter Pan" directed by Alain Marcel at the Casino de Paris. After a stay in England, she had the privilege of playing Edith Piaf in the show "Piaf je t'aime" at the Eldorado theater and on an international tour. In 2002, she had the chance to play Oliver Twist in the famous musical comedy. She also plays the roles of Guinevere and Vivian in the musical "Merlin".
From 2003 to 2015, she plays the main role in a musical biography that she directs since 2009 "Piaf une vie en rose et noir" which has toured the world. Finally, with this success, she created and co-wrote with Jacques Pessis "Brel de Bruxelles aux Marquises" which triumphed for 3 seasons in Paris.
Since then, the call of Broadway will make her accept the role of Princess Fiona in the musical "Shrek" at the Casino de Paris. Since February 2015, she has been playing the role of the Queen in the play "La petite fille aux allumettes" at the Théâtre du Palais Royal, Théâtre du Gymnase and on tour. Since March 2015, she has been performing in a one-woman show called "Piaf, Ombres et Lumière", for which she wrote the libretto and co-directed the production with Stéphane Vélard. This show about Edith Piaf is the quintessence of her career.

Rabbi/Stand-UpComic (Really) BOB ALPER

Bob's a special favorite on the clean comedy channels of Sirius/XM Satellite radio, and he's appeared on Showtime, CNN, and Good Morning America.
The New York Times put it succinctly: Bob “…had the audience convulsing.” From Hollywood's IMPROV to The Montreal Comedy Festival to Toronto’s Muslimfest (really), Bob’s unique brand of humor appeals to people of all faiths.
In addition to being a full-time stand-up comic, Bob is the author of three books that further showcase his considerable talents: Life Doesn't Get Any Better Than This, an inspirational collection that The Detroit Free Press called “a volume of spiritual gems;” the awardwinning full-color cartoon book A Rabbi Confesses; and Thanks. SEASON 8
We all know that innate feeling in the pit of our stomach that cries “caution.” Do you ignore that feeling or investigate it? Sometimes the warning signs are crying out to be heard, but we ignore them fearing the ramifications. So how do you choose the right path? Do you bury your head in the sand? Or do you stand tall and illuminate the shadows? We have chosen four shows that shine light on this timeless battle of either listening to or ignoring your instincts. As the famous song from this season’s musical Cabaret asks, “With time rushing by, what would you do?” I am excited to present season 8 at The Studio: Trust Your Instincts.
Whitney Morse – Artistic Director
