Dear Friend

It’s so lovely to have you back in our beautiful space after a long and difficult break. These last few months have been challenging for all of us. That challenge was no exception for us here at The Sharon. The time we spent with our doors closed felt like an endless cycle. We would plan, rearrange, hope, move dates, cancel shows, create virtual content, move venues, and redesign sets. Then after all of that we would repeat all of the aforementioned steps again and again. We did all of that with the goal of bringing us all back together again in mind.

Now, finally, here we are together. I know things are different, and they likely will be for a while. But we will persevere. We will work together to find new ways of creating, new ways to move you, and new ways to exist together in a theater. This innovation will require all of us to do our part. So please, while you are here in our theater, I kindly request that you maintain your physical distance of six feet, wear your favorite mask and sanitize your hands often.

The performing arts are the most collaborative art form in the world, but the most important collaborator is you, the patron. You come in at the end of our process and provide us with applause, tears, gasps, and laughter. Now we are also asking that you take care of us, the artists, and each other by following the guidelines above. If we all commit to this together we can continue to enjoy live arts in this new way.

BIOGRAPHIES GARY POWELL has been musically directing and staging shows for over 30 years in Texas, Chicago, New York City, and now Central Florida. Select standouts of Gary’s career include Sound of Music, Godspell, Brigadoon, South Pacific, and regionally Sweet Charity and Next to Normal at the Skokie Theatre. He has worked on several world premiere productions including: Tomorrow Morning and Scotch Verdict. While directing in Chicago, Gary was nominated for several Jeff Awards (The Chicago equivalent of the Tony’s) for the following productions: Jerry Springer-The Opera, Thrill Me, Adam’s Family, Opus 1861, The Baker’s Wife, Kiss of The Spider Woman, Evolution/Creation, and Cats among several others. Gary currently serves as the resident Music Director for both The Sharon® L. Morse Performing Arts Center and The Studio™ Theatre Tierra Del Sol.

RYAN LOECKEL is an active musician, actor, vocalist, video editor and collaborative arts producer. During the 2019-2020 season he was heard at The Studio™ Theatre during It Shoulda Been You, John & Jen and Assassins, featured at The Sharon® in Bach To Broadway and A Quiet Christmas, fiddled as Joe-Bob in Always...Patsy Cline (Victory Productions), and played the role of Righteous Brother Bill Medley in That Lovin’ Feelin’ (Beefhouse Dinner Theatre). Ryan trained as a violist with Marcia Ferritto at Kent State University, and has shared the stage on tour with Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, Barry Manilow and Trans-Siberian Orchestra among many others. His performances have been heard on several syndicated public radio broadcasts, aboard five-star cruise ships, and at venues internationally. BIOGRAPHIES DAVID PAUL ROWAN attended the University of North Florida where he received his Bachelors of Music Education concentrating in violin and voice. He served as the choir and theatre director for The VillagesÂŽ High School for three years. David has had the opportunity of performing in the choir for Star Wars in Concert with the Royal Philharmonic and sang on stage with Patti Lupone at the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center. Previous roles include Jonah in Bad Jews, David in Company, Lt. Cable in South Pacific, and Dr. Neville Craven in The Secret Garden. David would like to thank his family and friends for their unwavering support.
