Dear Patron of the Arts,

Welcome to The Sharon® L. Morse Performing Arts Center!

Much like the building’s namesake, my grandmother, Sharon L. Morse, we love all varieties of the performing arts here. It is in her memory that I, along with my amazing team of artists and arts administrators, strive to bring many different types of the highest quality entertainment here to The Sharon.

Since opening in 2015, we have strived to establish your trust, that a show at The Sharon is a show worth seeing. Perhaps you find yourself here today to see a concert of one of your favorite musicians, or to take in the national tour of a Broadway show. Either way, we encourage you to consider trying out a new show that perhaps you haven’t heard of before, knowing that it has been intentionally curated by our team.

We welcome you to The Sharon: a place for you to see an old favorite, but also a place to discover your new favorite. I sincerely hope you enjoy the show today, and I look forward to seeing you here again soon!

Winner of the prestigious, American Comedy Award’s “Comic of the Year.” This Kentucky woman is a comedy icon. Etta has been seen on “Oprah”, CMT, Showtime, “Comic Strip Live”, “Comedy Stage” plus many others. Etta May is an audience favorite of XM/Sirius Radio Comedy Channels and on the syndicated radio show “The Bob and Tom Show.” She’s a regular on CMT countdown shows and featured programming. CMT’s Documentary Series that featured the “Blue Collar” boys and “Etta May” places her as one of the top southern comics in the business.

SONYA WHITE

Sonya White is originally from Virginia, then this country girl moved to Chicago and found herself in a different world. Her show combines southern charm with big city street smarts. Real-life experiences and dead-on impersonations making her shows crazy, silly, and fun! Credits include “Stand Up Nashville!” on the new Circle Network plus her Dry Bar Comedy Special “Boot It Up!” She’s had Specials on HBO, the E Network, and Comedy Central.

JODI WHITE

NEVER THE BRIDESMAID, ALWAYS THE BRIDE, and she’s got four dresses to prove it. Now on husband number four, with three kids and three ex-husbands, Jodi doesn’t hold back on stage or in life. Trust us; this is No Desperate Housewife. She’s bold and brazen, and you’ll love her for it. She tells it like it is!

In addition to comedy festivals across the US and Canada, Jodi’s is a favorite on Carnival Cruise Lines and has been featured on Nick at Night, “Mom’s Night Out,” Stand Up Nashville Live on the Circle Network, Island Hoppers with James Van Der Beek and Ridiculousness on MTV.
