I’m a really huge fan of beauties as a boy who is always extremely curious about surroundings, circumstances, external events, and want to discover it.

The boy has a wish that he must dedicate his life to enjoying the universe’s beauty and always wondering how to bring it back the ordinary life...

1.2 ABOUT THE PROJECT

Location & Site :

SAPA Sa Pa is a quiet mountain town and home to a great diversity of ethnic minority peoples. The total population of 36,000 consists mostly of minority groups. Besides the Kinh (Viet) people (15 percent) there are mainly five ethnic groups in Sa Pa: Hmong 52 percent, Dao 25 percent, Tay five percent, Giay two percent, and a small number of Xa Pho. Approximately 7,000 live in Sa Pa, the other 36,000 being scattered in small communes throughout the district.

Most of the ethnic minority people work their land on sloping terraces since the vast majority of the land is mountainous. Their staple foods are rice and corn.

Rice, by its very nature of being a labour-intensive crop, makes the daily fight for survival paramount.

The unique climate in Sa Pa has a major influence on the ethnic minorities who live in the area. With sub-tropical summers, temperate winters and 160 days of mist annually, the influence on agricultural yields and health-related issues is significant.

The geographical location of the area makes it a truly unique place for many interesting plants and animals, allowing it to support many inhabitants.

Many very rare or even endemic species have been recorded in the region.

Project Proposal:

Dragon Jaw Mount Why D.Jaw Mountain:

Our Purpose:

Dragon Jaw is a small mountain loacates near Sapa towncenter. As the name suggested, Dragon Jaw mountain has a part of the mountain that shapes the jaw of a dragon. It’s also a part of Hoang Lien Son mountain range. The surrounding of Dragon Jaw is mainly forrest, however it’s an attraction for tourism and local people to get by. Beneath the mountain is a small garden as a welcoming entrance to lead people into the place.

Since most of the surronding land is forrest, we can find a small area to get our feet into and establish a small, temporary retail area, which contains a variety of shops that both promotes new merchandise to the local and boost the local products to the tourists, this is our main purpose, to intertwine and advancing Sapa tourism to a higher tier. However, the local tradition and culture will be conserved and remain as a strong foundation for our development.

These retail shops are temporary and can be changed according to the seasons and events that take place in Sapa. As it’s a commercial area, local event and fair can will be considered as a part of our retail area.

Book Store The design is inspired deeply by a huge variety of breath-taking landscapes through the majestic mountains, the stunning terraced fields, the eco-friendly atmosphere everywhere in Sapa, Vietnam.

Wishing to bring the horizons to local residents through the priceless books of the designer as well as to inspire the people who can be approach to human knowledge, the design follows the guide that must be environmentally-friendly, simple and familliar with the readers. Last but not least, it can be an ideal place for the people who is exhausted and tired, really want to escape from daily life routine.

BOOK STORE DESIGN PRINCIPLES:

Whether you envision your ideal bookstore as a hole-in-the-wall selling a little of everything or a trendy boutique specializing in new and glossy books, the organization and layout is important. The ability of customers to navigate the aisles, find genre sections and locate the volume they're looking for will determine whether your bookstore feels inviting or stifling.

THE IMPORTANCE OF OPEN SPACE

Some customers might find a cramped bookstore and piles of unshelved books endearing, but others do not. A layout that maintains a certain amount of open space will make your bookstore inviting. Make sure the aisles between shelves are wide enough for two customers to pass through or browse comfortably. If you have enough space, design an open area with chairs where customers can peruse books. You can use tall shelves against the walls, but use shelves no taller than 6 feet in the interior of your store to help customers more easily find the section they’re looking for. Be sure to comply with local, state and federal laws pertaining to minimum aisle space and wheelchair access at retail stores.

ORGANIZATION

The organization of a bookstore is vital to how the customer feels while in the store...

Is it easy to navigate?

Can the customer find the books that they are searching for?

Does it feel like the walls and shelves are closing in, or is the store open and airy?

As soon as you walk in books surround you.

The books are piled waist high along most aisles, and the shelves stretch up nearly to the 15-foot ceiling. All shelves are crammed with books. The impression that one gets as he enters is of being surrounded, books threatening to collapse on you at a moment’s notice. The shelves appear to be homemade; in some cases the particleboard is evident.

Customers never go in with anything particular in mind, but they always find something of interest. The shelves are along the outer walls of the store with tables scattered throughout the open interior displaying certain choice books. Through creative use of shelving a separate children’s book area has been created.

Organizing your books by category can help customers quickly and easily find the specific book they came for, or leisurely browse books of a certain genre.

Common classifications include literary fiction, science fiction, horror, romance, mystery, fantasy, poetry, drama, humor, history, biography, photography, art, travel, and do-it-yourself books.

Within classifications, organize books by author’s last name. Organize your shelves logically so that all of a genre is located in the same general area.

Customers might become frustrated if horror A-L is on the opposite side of the store from horror M-Z. Shelves should be clearly labeled by genre.

Putting signs on the walls or tops of shelves is another way to help customers easily navigate your merchandise.

BARGAINS & DISPLAYS

The shelves are crammed full of books in rough alphabetic order by author and divided by genre. The floors are piled with books. It’s more a matter of cramming as much merchandise onto the sales floor as possible.

There is clearly a great deal of thought put into how the books are displayed, which ones get prominent facing on the shelves and which ones end up on the tables. The shelves are not overly crowded; allowing easy browsing of the books and the attention of the browser is drawn quickly to the books that the store wants you to see. There are clearly years of practice behind the manner in which the merchandise is displayed, and it helps convey a sense of order and comfort to the customer.

Bargain and discounted books should be located near the front of the store so customers can’t miss them. If you plan on stocking impulse items like candy or snacks, these should also be located near the register.

This reduces the likelihood of threat and also makes it easy for customers to see the items. It is also a good idea to have displays of popular, suggested or discounted books throughout the store, on the ends of shelves, and near your checkout area.

Seasonal displays centered around holidays can also provoke impulse buys from your customers.

Proper merchandising will direct the customer towards the product that you want them to buy.

In the case of bookstores this is done by displaying certain books on the shelves with their full cover facing forward as opposed to just the spine, or various other means, such as having tables with specific books on them.

Proper merchandising draws the customer’s attention. It also serves to help maintain order in the store.

A properly merchandised store is an orderly store by definition.

LOCATING THE REGISTERS

Jill Hendrix, owner of Greenville, South Carolina bookstore Fiction Addiction, recommends locating your cash register and checkout area near the front door of your store. This helps you observe the comings and goings of customers, and allows them to quickly locate you if they need help or have a question. Make sure there is a wide aisle in front of or adjacent to the register so customers can easily form a line. If you anticipate a large amount of business, it may be a good idea to have more than one register so you and your employees can quickly process a long line.
