2 – 14 MAY
TERI WALSH + PAUL BARTHOLOMEW & STEVE JOHNSTON PRIVATE VIEW: FRIDAY 5 MAY 6.30–8.30PM
New prints by Teri Walsh: Black, white and splashes of colour This show concentrates on work made between July 2016 and January 2017. It showcases limited edition, handpulled prints using a wide variety of techniques. Some works are strikingly monochromatic whilst others explode with vibrant colour. Paul Bartholomew & Steve Johnston Paul does not consider abstraction to be a deliberate break with historical art tradition. Indeed, he finds the idea that an artist could work outside of this history difficult to understand. Rather, abstraction develops some concealed, buried or forgotten aspects within this tradition. Steve Johnston’s current work is based on a fascination with the symbolic uses of the visual language of flowers – a language often overlooked but extensively used to mark changes in our lives. JESS NORGROVE + JOHN COLE AND ANNIE RAE PRIVATE VIEWS: WEDNESDAY 17 MAY 6.30–8.30pm FRIDAY 19 MAY 6.30–8.30pm
Jess Norgrove The images in the exhibition show a hidden and unseen world beyond the walls of derelict buildings and evoke stories through their structures. The photographs are taken in various locations, both in the UK and further afield in Europe. Compromised perceptions: After a career of illustration and painting, Annie Rae has experienced severe sight loss. Her work concerns the visual aberrations caused by Macular Deterioration. Deaf As… is a series of portraits by John Cole of people with hearing loss, coupled with their own words about what this loss means to them.

FELICITY MONTAIGU: LAND, SEA AND WEATHER PRIVATE VIEW: FRIDAY 2 JUNE 6.30–8.30pm
Felicity Montaigu’s work involves recording images observed directly from landscape, in drawings, watercolours and oil studies. These are sometimes the roots of larger pieces of work. She is particularly interested in land which is mountainous with hidden valleys, both in Southern France and Westmorland, and the sea and shore in East Sussex.

13 – 25 JUNE
SoCo SHOWCASE 2 PRIVATE VIEW: FRIDAY 16 JUNE 6.30–8.30pm
The East Sussex based group, SoCo Artists, initiated this project last year as an opportunity for members to develop a new body of work or show work from their ongoing practice, in a curated exhibition. The selected artists for SoCo Showcase 2 are Lynne Bingham, Sally Cole, Jean Davey-Winter, Jill Hartman, Adrienne Hunter, Gillian Metcalfe, Carly Ralph, Katherine Reekie, David Reeve, Helen Scalway and Suzy Watts. Expect a broad range of work including drawing, installation, painting, collage and textiles. www.soco.org.uk

27 JUNE – 9 JULY
ASSEMBLAGE: PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER PRIVATE VIEW: FRIDAY 30 JUNE 6.30–8.30pm
Putting It All Together is a show of two and three dimensional works of assemblage, collage and photomontage by artists working with a variety of media and forms. With the constant changes in technology, all three of these overlapping fields are constantly changing and growing in possibilities. This exhibition brings together a group of artists whose work represents different ideas through the manipulation and mixing of materials from both found and made objects and images. EAST SUSSEX PRINT EXCHANGE: CURATED BY MYLES CALVERT PRIVATE VIEW: FRIDAY 14 JULY 6.30–8.30pm
The exhibition is a result of an initiative sponsored by the Rye Creative Centre where artists were invited to come together to share and exchange an edition of various printing techniques. The exhibition at the Hastings Arts Forum will showcase the work of these artists and printmakers and will include examples of a wide range of traditional and experimental printmaking methods.

RISING TALENT: YOUNG AND EMERGING ARTISTS PRIVATE VIEW: FRIDAY 28 JULY 6.30–8.30pm
Rising Talent offers young and emerging artists the opportunity to submit work to be selected for exhibition at no charge. As the invitation to submit work for the show is spread widely this show promises to include a broad range of exciting and innovative new work.
