Design Concepts is a national award-winning landscape architecture design and planning firm near Denver in Lafayette, Colorado. We’ve got a unique culture of talented, creative landscape architects, all passionate about their craft. We’re mindful of our constantly changing world, and of how our surroundings impact how we live.

Our focus is on creating “people spaces”. Our discipline is strictly landscape architecture and planning, with most of our built projects located within Colorado, with a few in Wyoming and Washington. A collaborative design effort with our strong client base assures a sense of ownership in the final product.

“Creating Community” is our Vision Statement, one that is incorporated into each project as a guiding principle.

“Our success is not merely our own, it is shared and made possible by our incredible teams and partnerships we’ve formed over the years.”

Certifications

M/WBE (Minority Women-Owned Business Enterprise)

The M/WBE certification we hold allows us to bring our expertise, innovation and creativity to government contracts within the City and County of Denver. When your firm hires on an M/WBE sub consultant, not only are you supporting a diverse market, but you in return become eligible for federal and state tax breaks. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.

SBE (Small Business Enterprise)

We are certified as an SBE through the City and County of Denver who reserves a portion of their construction and professional design projects to be bid exclusively to those who hold this specific certification.

We also hold an SBE Certification through RTD. The RTD SBE Certification program is a Federally funded program and was established to create an equal opportunity for all Small Businesses in the State of Colorado.

DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise)

We can assist in obtaining your next CDOT project that may require a mandatory percentage be completed by a DBE certified subconsultant. Prime contractors utilizing a DBE sub can take advantage of financial incentives while working on upcoming projects. DBE subs can also increase your consultant contract by up to four points as well.

A Word From Our Principals

Deep in our roots is a desire to inspire, collaborate and connect communities through parks, commercial design and streetscapes, school campuses, trails and open space projects.

Our focus on people breaks through traditional landscape architecture approaches by applying research, analysis, and an active engagement with our environment to the creation of landscapes in which people and communities can thrive.
