Lower Bucks Hospital Receives Award for Stroke Care
Bristol, PA – Lower Bucks Hospital announced today that it has been recognized by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for the quality of its stroke care. The “Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award” recognizes Lower Bucks Hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence. “Lower Bucks Hospital is committed to improving the quality of care for our stroke patients by implementing the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Stroke initiative,” said Lower Bucks Hospital CEO Kelly Lorah. “The tools and resources provided help us track and measure our success in meeting evidenced-based clinical guidelines developed to improve patient outcomes.” Lower Bucks Hospital has emerged as a destination for stroke patients in the region since it was purchased by Prime Healthcare in 2012. Shortly after the purchase, Lower Bucks Hospital received advanced certification from The Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Last year, the hospital entered into an agreement with Temple University Hospital in which stroke patients can be diagnosed and treated around the clock by Temple neurologists via telemedicine.
