WELCOME TO HQ—the Hatherton Quarterly, a newsletter produced by patients at the Hatherton during the writing workshops.

In this brand new edition, we feature brilliant computer and car reviews from the Crimson Caper, who really knows his stuff! Whether you’re dreaming of a new car or looking for some entertainment on the Xbox, the Crimson Caper is here to give you the lo-down!

We’ve also got a poem about love and life from our brother in prison, and the best way to beat weedy arms from a patient who is dedicated to training and keeping in shape.

From the same author we bring you news about October’s smoking ban with advice for anyone who needs extra help stopping. And also a call for you to join us in the football sessions.

A LOOK INSIDE ST GEORGE’S … ONLY IN THE HATHERTON QUARTELY!

PATIENTS will need think about stopping smoking this year as a smoking ban in the Hatherton Centre will be put in place in October 2015.

As a patient and UIG rep to my knowledge this will apply for the unit as a whole.

This is for obvious health reasons for the patients.

Ward managers will slowly think about cutting a few smoke breaks in the morning and night to wean your habit but if there any concerns speak to your key worker or ask to referred smoking cessation .

One more thing, we need footballers as we have a poor turn out. If you would like to play on Tuesdays and Thursdays speak to Mr Pete Dent.

THE Crew Xbox Game is an excellent game given what I’ve seen so far. If you liked the Colin Mcray games then you’re gonna love this one. More drifting, more muscle, and more dirt tr- acks.

the usual game where you come across a simple town area. The game allows you to play dirt tracks from all over the world.

The Crew Xbox Game is available now so get it if you’re the kind of person who knows the difference between a good game and a remake with a different town and area.

So get yourself a copy! Ask staff at the town to run or ask your visitors to bring your copy.

You can also go totally off the road. Plus plenty of cop chases. Good news also that this game’s been out for some time so you can pick it up for about £25 from Argos or even cheaper if you shop around.

Why would you buy this game you ask? Because it’s not

Caper What does this car do for £33,000? Well it better do something. Take a look at the car, it says it was built in the 90s. My price was £5,000 brand new. But that’s not what this car is.

This car is the Aladdin’s cave once you’ve had all the extras. And guess what? The price goes up even more but only by £20,760 which gives a total of £53,760. This car is already on the roads so if you’re completely insane to throw away almost £56,000 then you need therapy. Once you’ve got the car take to the open roads or the country roads– remember to put the pedal to the metal. For the price you get bucket seats F40 spec, sliding shutter, aluminium bonnet, race data displays, gloss carbon fibre, and all the other extras.

WEEDY ARMS? Want tickets to the gun show? If you want your sleeves splitting at the seams, here are some tips for bulging biceps!

Start with 4 sets of 10 or 12 reps of curls and chin-ups. With 30 seconds of rest. Gradually raise the weight as you get stronger. Or raise the repetitions for toning. Change your grips from fore grip to underhand to train different parts of your arms and back muscles 
