Welcome from Quality Assurance Centre (Ministry of Health
Given the great expansion in the Ministry of Health (MOH), in terms of the increased number of healthcare institutions, services and employees, plus the need to improve the quality of its services, it became necessary to establish a strong foundation for quality management and service monitoring. Establishing the Directorate General of Quality Assurance Center (DGQAC) has been a critical addition to the MOH, in 2014, which aided in establishing a strong Quality management system to improve both the service and staff performance, across all levels and Healthcare facilities, in the MOH. We are ready to meet the needs of the next phase of the ambitious Goals of the Oman Vision 2040. DGQAC is seeking to be a national reference to global standards in the field of healthcare quality and patient safety. It is continuously raising the quality of healthcare services and patient safety in all institutions of the MOH, by applying appropriate international standards to local realities. A vital factor complementing the system for continuous improvement was the establishment of Innovation Section (I.S), after witnessing huge staff efforts in exploring innovative approaches to better health and health care delivery. After the global Pandemic, Covid-19, we witnessed a transformation in healthcare industry worldwide, pushing us to embrace the 4th industrial revolution: the digital/ technological revolution, thus, we are no longer able to remain doing things in our old ways. Thus, the I.S will have a key role in building the innovation management framework in the MOH setting that will manage and promote Innovative project/ ideas, and encourage Intrapreneurship in MOH. We would like to take Oman Healthcare Conference and Exhibition as an opportunity to: exchange lessons learned related to the healthcare industry’s revolution / Intrapreneurship; create greater opportunities to collaborate; exchange ideas; leverage strengths; and collaborate with key stakeholders locally and globally to scale up best practices. We recognize that collaboration across payers, providers, health systems, public health, business leaders, foundations, consumers/community, academic health centers, community-based agencies, professional health associations, and other governmental agencies, is key to success.
