Around 100 years ago, His Majesty King Abdulaziz first sat atop a hill overlooking Malez (now Downtown Riyadh) with his sons and watched as their horses raced. Racing in The Kingdom had commenced.
Today, our ethos is to ensure that every race night or event we host is an occasion where we provide a service to our guests befitting of this royal standard. In line with Vision 2030, Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia (JCSA) is charged with building a world-class horse racing industry that has a positive impact on the country’s sporting, cultural and economic sectors, while promoting Saudi Arabia internationally and strengthening racing across the GCC.
JCSA is chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Bandar Bin Khalid Al Faisal and annually hosts over one hundred race meetings at King Khalid Racecourse in Taif and King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Riyadh. The latter is where
each February, we host the Saudi Cup. The World’s Richest Race attracts the best jockeys and racehorses from around the globe.

Located within its heartland, King Khalid Racecourse has hosted live racing since 1965 and is the home of summer racing in the Middle East.
