CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME
It gives me great pleasure to open this very special edition of The Horsemen’s Guide. Welcome to the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh season Horsemen’s Guide. King Abdulaziz Racecourse is already staging its first races of the 2022-2023 season, and we are proud to host the JCSA’s first internationally-classified race outside of the Saudi Cup – the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, now an International Listed event. This guide sets out all the information required to enter horses in our domestic season races and we look forward to hosting connections and runners from our neighbouring jurisdictions, or even further afield, this season.

The SAR1m Prince Khalid Abdullah Cup, which holds such special significance for Saudi Arabia, will be staged for a second time while the GCC Arabian Cup, with prize money of SAR750,000 pays tribute to the Purebred Arabian horse upon which much of the region’s traditions of equestrianism rests. The two SAR750,000 GCC Cups, for fillies and mares and colts and geldings feature again, while the previously mentioned Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, a Saudi Cup qualifier, will be a major season highlight. We look forward to welcoming all runners and their connections, both local and international, to King Abdulaziz Racecourse this season. Thank you Bandar bin Khalid Al Faisal

Chairman, Jockey Club Of Saudi Arabia.
