Beau Balou is an up-and-coming, 2015 Hanoverian stallion who is already accepted into the prestigious Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program. He is a three-ring horse and his elastic, powerful gaits and scopey jump make him suitable for dressage, hunters or jumpers. Beau Balou is currently competing at 1.20m with consistent clear rounds and will be moving up in 2023. His dam, Iroise de Grandry, competed internationally at the 1.50m level at all the major European shows in France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. She is 25-years-old and remains sound and rideable today. At the young age of 3, Beau Balou won his Canadian Warmblood Licensing and finished reserve champion against older stallions in his stallion performance test. He also finished second against the top-20 3-year-olds at the prestigious Lieutenant Governor’s Cup at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. He continued his winning ways as a 4-yearold, with several high placings in the hunter ring and ended the season with an excellent score of 8.29 at the North American Sport Stallion Testing. He successfully completed his second NASST in 2021, to obtain lifetime breeding approvals. Beau Balou obtained high scores at his testing for scope, character, temperament, canter and rideability. He has consistently passed on his temperament and canter on to his offspring, with all traits of his impressive lineage coming from world-renowned show jumping stallions Baloubet du Rouet, Argentinus and Laudanum xx. Beau Balou’s first crop of offspring arrived in 2020. Of the top-five top Canadian Warmblood Futurity winners in 2020, three were sired by Beau Balou. In 2021, he sired the Foal Futurity winner for Canadian Warmblood.
