THE BARI VON BUEDINGEN MEMORIAL TROPHY
The Bari von Buedingen Memorial Trophy, first awarded in 1994, is given to the highest scoring Hanoverian mare at an inspection. The trophy is awarded in memory of noted breeder, Bari von Buedingen, who with her husband, Dr. Richard von Buedingen, developed their top broodmare band at Graf Bae Farm.
Dr. Susan E. Heiken is the owner of Du Primera (Dubarry x Donatella/Don Primero), winner of the Bari von Buedingen Memorial Trophy with a top score of 8.0.

“Dolche is a beautiful, very intelligent and observant filly that is very connected to her people,” said Susan.

Purchased as a foal from Meg Williams of Oakwood Farms, Susan raised her since weaning. “Dolche is easy to train, tries really hard to do whatever is asked of her and loves attention!”
Dolche is currently at Meg Williams’ farm, being backed and prepared for her Mare Performance Test (MPT). “I’m so excited to sit on her and begin her dressage training,” said Susan. “Dolche is the first to notice anything new, but follows my lead in how to respond, which is certainly a wonderful training characteristic.
“Dolche produced a lovely colt by the Grand Prix stallion, Don Nobless,” continued Susan. “Meg reports Dolche’s been a quick study with backing and loves her work.”
Susan’s goals for Dolche include successfully completing the MPT, then training and developing through the levels. “Thank you to the American Hanoverian Society for this award. We love being a member of such a professional, supportive and educational group of individuals.”
