Ashfield Churches Collaborate with Saints James and Andrew, Greenfield

Thanks to the prep work of volunteers, who made 500 individual zip-lock bags full of the smaller items to insert into the totes, members of both Ashfield churches were able to assemble all 100 totes in less than one hour. The totes included scarves, gloves, toiletries, snacks, water, lozenges and throat care, knit hats, warm socks and more. Most items were donated by members of both First Congregational Church of Ashfield and St. John’s with financial support for the remaining items and tote bags from both churches. The items were delivered to the Episcopal Church of Saints James and Andrew and were distributed during the Sunday community meal to neighbors experiencing homelessness and poverty. ♦
