Kuta beach hit by strong wind Antara KUTA - Kuta beach area on Tuesday was hit by strong wind causing panic among foreigners and local people there. “The beach sand scattered everywhere, it even entered the front part of restaurants.
Tourists who happened to be near the area ran away to safer place when the wind hit,” restaurant worker Dina Indah said. She explained strong wind has been hitting the area in the past two days , usually during mid day or afternoon. “But today’s wind is the worst,” she added.
Meanwhile Yongky, a local tourist, said he ran to a safer place when the wind hit Kuta beach. “Lucky the wind only hit for 10 minutes,” he said. Last February 19, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warned fishermen and sea transportation users in Bali of high
waves that will likely to happen in southern area. Spokesman of Bali`s BMKG Nyoman Gede Wiryajaya explained strong wind happened due to the change of wind circulation from east to the west. Apart from causing high waves, such condition also triggers rain. IBP/Yudi Karnaedi
