Damage in power station cause blackout

Denpasar – The damage in the main power station in Kapal Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency, caused blackout in Bali for 30 minutes on Monday, October 17, 2011. The broken components made the power station could not operate for several minutes.

The General Manager of Indonesian Electrical Company (PLN) for Bali area, Dadan Koernoadipoera, said, “The blackout caused by the broken isolator in the main generator. It is possibly because the earthquake which happened on Thursday, October 13, 2011.” He explained that the problem made the southern and eastern part of Bali suffered from total blackout. out after the officers carry out maintenance for the generator. “The blackout is out of our prediction and we are not scheduling the power cut,” he added. Because of the incident, the PLN suffer 51 million rupiah of loss because they lose the opportunity to sell electricity for 30 minutes. “The capacity of electricity which was loss during the blackout was 80% from the total power which is 480 megawatts,” Dadan said.

Swimming in Lembongan French tourist found dead Bali Post

LEMBONGAN - Ferocity of the waves in the waters of Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Penida, claimed another casualty. After the wooden boat Sri Murah Rejeki drowned in the waters around Jungutbatu, Lembongan, that killed 11 passengers and 13 others missed until now, this time a tourist from France, Jean Francois Frud Homme was found dead while

swimming in the waters of Lembongan, Saturday (Oct 15) afternoon. The 61-year old man having a profession as surgeon in his home country was found floating with some wounds on the body. Chief of Klungkung P o l i c e , Tr i Wa h y u d i , Sunday (Oct 16) mentioned the body of Jean Francois would be immediately taken back to his country (France) by his family. The family did not allow the

autopsy against the body of victim that so far lived at the Chandra Asri Housing Complex, Batubulan. “Dossier examination of the case has been made (last Saturday). However, the victim’s wife was not pleased, including when the authority was about to make autopsy, his wife did not allow as the body of her husband would be brought back to his home country,” said the Chief of Klungkung Police.
