NEW YORK — Paul Walker’s brothers are stepping to help finish filming on “Fast & Furious 7,” the film Walker was in the midst of making when he died in November. Caleb Walker and Cody Walker have been enlisted to complete their brother’s action scenes and “fill in small gaps left in production,” Universal Pictures said in a statement Tuesday on the film’s Facebook page.

“Having them on set has made us feel that Paul is with us too,” read the statement. Production on “Fast & Furious 7” recently resumed after it was suspended following Walker’s death. The 40-year-old Walker died in a car crash on Nov. 30 outside Los Angeles along with his friend Roger Rodas. A police investigation found the Porsche that Rodas was driving was traveling up to 94 mph when it went out of control. The release of “Fast & Furious 7” was delayed to April 2015 following Walker’s death. The film, which is directed by James Wan and also

stars Vin Diesel and Tyrese Gibson, has since been adjusted to incorporate the footage shot with Walker and give his character some kind of send-off. “It will allow the character of Brian O’Conner to live on and let us celebrate Paul in his most defining role,” read the statement.

Property business estimated to slump in 2014 Bali Post

DENPASAR - Property business in Indonesia, including Bali, is predicted to slump during 2014. This condition will threaten the business survival of developers. However, according to a property analyst, I Wayan Sukarja, this condition would become a natural selection for novice developers whether they could survive or would go bankrupt. The weakening of the current property transactions, said Sukarja, was caused by the movement cycle of the property market indicating a decline. It happened after the rapid purchase of property in previous years. “The decline is more than 49

percent. Implementation of the Loan to Value (LTV) urges the developers not to sell house through mortgage (KPR) with partial prepayment. Such condition leads the developers to a difficult position,” he said. Currently, the filing of mortgag-

es could be processed by bank if the building construction had reached 70 percent. Even, some banks required the building completion of 100 percent in order to issue the mortgage. Related to this, according to Sukarja, only the strong and well-established developers could survive. Meanwhile, novice developers were feared to go bankrupt. Related to the skyrocketing land prices, according to Sukarja, the effect was not so great because the properties in Bali were limited and unique. Therefore, the price was still much cheaper than the properties in Asia including Singapore.

The fall in property transactions in Bali was dominantly caused by economic policy and political factor in the country. “The price of property in Bali is still affordable to the market. However, the LTV policy makes it stagnant,” said the businessman from Petang, Badung. He added the weakening of the real estate business in Bali would only last temporarily. He estimated later this year the price would begin to rise and the demand would grow up to 3 years to come. This condition could become a natural selection for novice developers which one could survive or would

go bankrupt. “I have confidence that after the presidential election it will grow and passionate again. Moreover, consumers in Bali are very high and the government should contribute to providing public housing,” said Sukarja. Who was hurt most by this LTV policy? “Actually, the LTV aims at protecting foreign exchange and reducing import and tackling the state budget deficit. However, the effect is experienced by developers, SMEs and the community. They really get overwhelmed,” he said. (rah)
