LOS ANGELES - Actor Shia LaBeouf apologized on Wednesday for his expletive-filled rants hurled at the officers who arrested him in Georgia last week on charges of disorderly conduct and public intoxication, and said he was seeking help for addiction. The “Transformers” actor said he was “deeply ashamed of my behavior” and “my actions warrant a very sincere apology to the arresting officers, and I am grateful for their restraint,” in a statement posted on his Twitter page. LaBeouf, 31, was arrested in the lobby of his Savannah hotel in the early hours of Saturday, booked into jail and released a few hours later, police said.
Four videos from police bodycams released by the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department on Tuesday show LaBeouf being handcuffed and becoming increasingly irate, throwing expletive-filled insults at both the male and female officers and questioning whether they were American. In his apology, LaBeouf said: “My outright disrespect for author-

ity is problematic to say the least, and completely destructive to say the worst.” “It is a new low. A low I hope is a bottom. I have been struggling with addiction publicly for far too long, and I am actively taking steps towards securing my sobriety and hope I can be forgiven for my mistakes,” he said. LaBeouf, who rose to fame on the Disney Channel before moving into action and independent movies, previously sought treatment for alcoholism, following a 2014 arrest for disturbing a performance of the musical “Cabaret” in New York. Lines of cocaine? No, says Kim Kardashian, it’s just the table design LOS ANGELES - Reality star Kim Kardashian has shot down speculation that she is using cocaine, saying white lines seen on a table in one of her social media postings were in fact the markings on a marble table. A Snapchat video posting on Monday, with the table in the background, prompted 24 hours of rampant speculation on Twitter that the influential “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” mother of two had been caught out with cocaine. Kardashian, 36, who has 101 million followers on Instagram, first responded on Tuesday by tweeting that the white lines were “sugar from our candy mess” from a New York store visit with her

children with rapper Kanye West, North and Saint. In a close-up video of the table, posted on her Twitter and Snapchat accounts later on Tuesday, Kardashian said that while she initially thought the lines were candy, they were instead the marble design on the table in their New York hotel room. “That was not candy on my table! The table was marble this whole time!... C’mon. I don’t play like that... It’s just not my lifestyle - I’ve never been like that,” she said. Kardashian is one of the most followed celebrities on social media, with a business empire in fashion and beauty that extends well beyond her TV reality show. (rtr)

Iriawan said the drug is expected to be distributed to the Jakarta area and surrounding areas, because the disclosure of the case is an expansion of the disclosure of drug cases in Jakarta. The amount was the largest seizure of the drug ever in Southeast Asia, and the biggest in Indonesia since 840kg of crystal methamphetamine was seized in 2015. Then the police conducted a search in cooperation with the Taiwan Police. Drugs revealed were already in the form of packaging or wrapped and according to plan will be taken from the hotel using two minibuses. The crystal methamphetamine, known locally as “shabu-shabu,” was found packed into 51 boxes put in two minivans.
“There are four suspects in this case, one person fled. All of them are Taiwanese citizens,” said M Iriawan. The police themselves will continue to develop the case including requesting information from the owner of the Mandalika hotel. “We will continue to explore and develop, including the owner of this Mandalika we will ask why it can enter here,” he said. According to the UNODC report, Asia is the world’??s largest market for the synthetic stimulant, with seizures of methamphetamine pills and crystal meth tripling in the past five years to at least 36 metric tons in 2012. China recorded the most methamphetamine seizures with 16 metric tons in 2012, representing
nearly half of Asia’??s total seizure. Tailing behind China is Thailand, which recorded 2 tons of seized methamphetamine in 2008 but more than 10 tons in 2012. Indonesia comes in third place with more than 2.1 tons, triple the 700 kg seized in 2008. Myanmar has also recorded a jump in methamphetamine seizures from 100 kg to 2 tons. Continued to page 6
