‘Ram Attains Moksha’ ballet concludes BAF 2011 GOVERNOR of Bali Made Mangku Pastika officially closed the whole series of the 33rd Bali Arts Festival (BAF) 2011 in Ardha Candra Amphitheater, Bali Art Center on Saturday (Jul 9) evening. The closing ceremony was graced by performance of colossal ballet entitled ‘Ram Attains Moksha’ presented by SMKN 3 Sukawati, Gianyar, becoming a final performance in the most extravagant annual art event in Bali. At the closing ceremony, Governor Mangku Pastika also handed over award certificates to winners of various
types of competitions organized during BAF 2011. In his speech, Governor Mangku Pastika hoped that BAF implementation displaying a variety of various cultural presentations to really function as a reinforcement of traditional values, including a window of cultural information and medium of diplomacy for Balinese artists in preserving the land and culture of Bali. By doing so, Balinese culture could survive among the onslaughts of global culture. Continued on page 6
