Hartati Murdaya named suspect in alleged bribery case Antara

JAKARTA - Noted business woman Hartati Murdaya, the owner of PT Hardaya Inti Plantation and PT Citra Cakra Murdaya, has been named suspect in an alleged bribery case relating to issuance of oil palm plantation land use right. “Based on the results of investigation two pieces of evidence have been found enough to link the old suspects with the new one namely SHM (Siti Hartati Murdaya),” the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Abraham Samad, here on Wednesday. Abraham said SHM as the president director of PT CCM and PT HIP was believed to have given Rp3 billion to the head of Buol district in Central Sulawesi. “The money was linked to the issuance of the plantation land use right for PT CCM and PT HIP located in the sub-district of Bukal in the district of Buol, Central Sulawesi,” he said. Abraham said the money was given in two stages namely on June 18, 2012 totaling Rp1 billion and on June 26, 2012 totaling Rp2 billion. Bukit Buluh Temple totally on fire Loss estimated to reach IDR 4 billion

Villagers of Gunaksa, Dawan, Klungkung, Tuesday (Aug 7) were excited. It was triggered by the fire hitting the Bukit Buluh Temple located at the area of Buayang hamlet, Gunaksa village, Dawan, Klungkung. It was unknown for sure the trigger of fire striking the temple venerated by Tutuan clan of Bali and Lombok. Due to such incident, the losses were estimated to reach over IDR 4 billion. Moreover, almost all the temple shrines caught fire in the incident. the incident were the Anglurah Agung and stone-made Sapta Petala. Ironically, the residents venerating the clan temple were just refurbished the Bukit Buluh Temple. Its refurbishment was done in stages. Even, the eleventiered meru shrine first known to be on fire had not completed after two years of work. The shrine spending about IDR 1 billion was still being painted by means of gold leaf. “The gold leaf painting just reaches 5 percent. And for this eleven-tiered meru shrine only spent about IDR 1 billion,” said the temple chief, Wayan Nuara, from Tengah hamlet, Gunaksa, Dawan, last Tuesday. Nuara himself did not know for sure the trigger of fire hitting the temple. However, residents suspected the fire originated from the dried reeds. When they were on fire, the burning reeds were blown by winds and afflicted the eleventiered meru shrine. Meanwhile, another resident alleged if it was triggered by burning rubbish. Such fire incident excited the surrounding residents. Thousands of people from all directions thronged the location to see it in person. The fire brigade coming to location seemed to find difficulty in controlling the traffic. Other than due to steep and uphill location, they were also hindered by vehicles carelessly parked alongside a road. Additionally, they were seemingly hard to go down for asking help. Ultimately, the fire could be extinguished about an hour later at 5:00 p.m. The hilltop temple itself is venerated by Tutuan clan coming to 1,500 families from all over Bali and Lombok. It is alleged to have been founded about 800 years ago. Anniversary of the temple falls on Anggarakasih (Tuesday) Perangbakat. (119)

Although the homecoming flows have been imminent, some road sections on Java-Bali route in Denpasar-Gilimanuk are still being demolished. It is feared the road repair will delay when passed through by homecoming vehicles to Java. As happened to road section at Mendoyo, between Bilukpoh and Tegalcangkring Market, it looked to have not been accomplished until Tuesday (Aug 7). Even, the road section remained holey as the asphalt was dismantled. Similarly, the road section to Melaya was still wavy due to uneven paving. According to some residents at Tegalcangkring, the

asphalt demolition had been doing since a few days ago. Approximately one kilometer in length had not been paved until last Tuesday as done elsewhere, whereas the region was frequently hit by congestion due to traffic density. In addition, it was regretted because there was no sign posted to warn the road users. Wayan Bawa, 52, one of the local residents, said the dismantled road section was hazardous to be passed through, especially at night. Such holey road section was very hazardous and worried as it could hamper the traffic flows. Moreover, the homecoming flow and backflow had been imminent. Ideally, the project should have

been accomplished at this moment so that it would not result in traffic congestion. His party had confidence if the traffic police officers would agree if the workers should accelerate the execution of the road improvement project. Meanwhile, the Traffic Affairs Chief of Jembrana Police, Gede Made Punia, said his party had asked the Bali Public Works at the meeting in the Bali Police to immediately terminate the road excavation and promptly patch the roads so as not to impede the traffic flows. Information obtained in the field on Tuesday mentioned if the Bukit Buluh Temple was on fire around 3:00 p.m. local time. The surrounding villagers just knew the incident after being informed by IB Wayan Gautama, 32, a resident from Culik, Karangasem, around 3:30 p.m. At that time, he was coming from Denpasar and seeing the flames on hill top from the road. Seeing the incident, he attempted to find out the source of fire by asking to local people. “At that time, I saw there was a big fire on hilltop. Then, I sought and asked people in the stall under the hill. However, people were even surprised and did not know it,” said IB Gautama last Tuesday. After the incident, he was about to go home but then helped local people look for the source of fire. Having been checked, in fact the fire was coming from an eleven-tiered meru shrine in the area of Bukit Buluh Temple. Other residents knowing the incident pounded the village kulkul (wooden split bell) and thronged the hilltop. Unluckily, their effort to extinguish the fire was in vain. It happened because the fire was getting bigger and engulfed the entire thatched shrines. Even, the Klungkung fire brigade contacted was unable to do much. With the help of one unit, the fire was even getting bigger and burned out all the shrines in the temple area. A number of shrines were burned out. Balinese Temple Ceremony Every Temple and Shrine has a special date for it annual Ceremony, or “ Odalan “, every 210 days according to Balinese calendar, including the smaller ancestral shrine which each family possesses. Because of this practically every few days a ceremony of festival of some kind takes place in some Village in Bali. There are also times when the entire island celebrated the same Holiday, such as at Galungan, Kuningan, Nyepi day, Saraswati day, Tumpek Landep day, Pagerwesi day, Tumpek Wayang day etc. The dedication or inauguration day of a Temple is considered its birth day and celebration always takes place on the same day if the wuku or 210 day calendar is used. When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. The day of course can differ the religious celebration of a temple lasts at least one full day with some temple celebrating for three days while the celebration of Besakih temple, the Mother Temple, is never less than 7 days and most of the time it lasts for 11 days, depending on the importance of the occasion. The celebration is very colorful. The shrine are dressed with pieces of cloths and sometimes with brocade, sailings, decorations of carved wood and sometimes painted with gold and Chinese coins, very beautifully arranged, are hung in the four corners of the shrine. In front of shrine are placed red, white or black umbrellas depending which Gods are worshipped in the shrines. In front of important shrine one sees, besides these umbrellas soars, tridents and other weapons, the “umbulumbul”, long flags, all these are prerogatives or attributes of Holiness. In front of the Temple gate put up “Penjor”, long bamboo poles, decorated beautifully ornaments of young coconut leaves, rice and other products of the land. Most beautiful to see are the girls in their colorful attire, carrying offerings, arrangements of all kinds fruits and colored cakes, to the Temple. Every visitor admires the grace with which the carry their load on their heads.

Russia’s Roscosmos space agency said the Proton-M rocket was launched just before midnight Monday from the Russian-leased Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Sprint (S) is planning to launch its HD Voice service for the HTC EVO 4G LTE by the end of the year, according to PhoneScoop. The feature, which was demonstrated at the company’s EVO 4G LTE launch event this past April, dramatically improves call quality but it requires both handsets support the service in order to be used. To ensure the quality of HD Voice, Sprint will need to upgrade a “critical mass” of its markets with various network improvements and launch additional smartphones that are compatible with the new feature. HD Voice will initially launch in select markets in 2012 and won’t become widely available until 2013 and 2014.

JIMBARAN - The 2012 Rip Curl Cup Invitational at Padang Padang could be ON in the next 24 hours. A large Indian Ocean groundswell is currently tracking towards Bali, and contest directors are targeting a potential Thursday morning (Aug 9) start to the Ultimate Tuberiding Contest. The 32 invited surfers – 16 of Indonesia’s best and 16 of the world’s top tube riders – are all currently standing by on Bali’s Bukit Peninsula, waiting to catch this swell. According to official event forecaster, Magic Seaweed, the swell is expected to make landfall in Bali late Wednesday night and build rapidly, peaking Thursday afternoon. The latest numbers on this southwest swell are reading 10 feet @ 17 seconds, coming from an angle of 205 degrees. Tradition of sharing out small money when the Eid comes has made most people exchange money earlier before going to home village. All offices of Bank Indonesia in Bali-Nusra Region III noted the realization of money exchange services from July 20 to August 6 reached IDR 19 billion. “There are some 200-400 people a day coming to Bank Indonesia to exchange money. They averagely ask for banknotes with denomination of IDR 1,000, IDR 5,000, and IDR 20,000 to IDR 50,000. For coin, they dominantly ask the denomination of IDR 1,000,” said Spokesperson of Bank Indonesia for Bali-Nusra Region III, Laurensia Yoan D when contacted on Tuesday (Aug 7). According to her, the Bank Indonesia predicted the demand for money exchange ahead of the Eid this year would continue to happen until the upcoming Eid.

“Through August 6, the banknote exchanged has reached IDR 18.070 billion, while coin reached IDR 958 million. Therefore, the total exchange has reached IDR 19 billion,” she explained. Meanwhile, the Representative Head of Bank Indonesia for Region III, Dwi Pranoto, in a recent press conference explained that his party had provided about IDR 3.5 trillion to resolve the surge in the demand for small money ahead of the Eid. According to him, such amount was very good in terms of quantity and denomination. “We estimate the demand for money during the period of July-August will reach IDR 2.52 trillion. We are optimistic that we are capable of serving the need of community for money exchange,” he said. He said that BI would optimize the cash service outlet facilities

existing in the Bank Indonesia, mobile cash services and the entire network of commercial banks. Besides, the exchange services of small denomination would also be assisted by a network of 13 rural banks. “Foreign Exchange traders and retailers can also get those small denominations in order to meet the requirements of payment transactions through the banks, both commercial banks and rural banks,” he said. Although the Eid remained weeks to go, the vivacity of community to exchange small money through Bank Indonesia (BI) looked to have been crowded. The raid was carried out because one of the dwellers named Eloy Esteves Gutierrez, 35, a Spanish citizen, was suspected to get involved in the case of drug abuse. After conducting the raid, an ecstasy pill could be secured from room #108 occupied by Eloy. Then, Eloy was taken to police station for further investigation. According to him, there lay a land belonging to the village and Government Tourism Office with an area across 0.45 hectares. “Next year (2013), we will relocate it because the road is now impassable,” explained Suarnama. The melasti venue currently disappearing was actually relocation because it was considered more spacious and intended to dam the expansion of settlements in the West area. “Formerly, it was deliberately moved to that location to hinder the expansion of dense settlement. Moreover, many of them are now exposed to abrasion,” he added. BEIJING — China’s government has further tightened curbs on production of rare earths used in mobile phones and other high-tech products in a move that might inflame trade tensions with Washington and Europe. Regulations issued this week say mines and smelting companies must meet minimum output levels to continue operating. The state newspaper China Daily said Wednesday that might result in 20 percent of the country’s production capacity to be shut down. China has about 30 percent of the world’s rare earths deposits but accounts for more than 90 percent of production. It alarmed foreign manufacturers by imposing export curbs in 2009 while it tries to build up a domestic processing industry to capture more of the profits that go to U.S., Japanese and European companies that transform rare earths into mobile phone batteries, camera lenses and other products. Chinese officials have expressed hope foreign companies that use rare earths will shift production to China and share technology with local partners. The United States, the European Union and Japan filed a World Trade Organization complaint in March accusing China of violating its free-trade commitments. Chinese officials have defended the controls as in line with WTO rules and necessary to

protect the environment. The restrictions are especially sensitive at a time when governments are trying to boost exports to reduce high unemployment. The United States and Europe are looking to increase sales of hightech goods that include products made with rare earths. The latest regulations appear to be an extension of Beijing’s effort to force rare earths producers to consolidate into a handful of large companies that will be easier to monitor and control. Mines must have yearly output of at least 20,000 tons, while smelters must have production capacity of 5,000 tons per year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Up to one-third of China’s 23 mines and about half of its 99 smelting companies will fail to meet the new standards, China Daily said, citing the director of the ministry’s rare earths office, Jia Yinsong. Jia said that would eliminate about 20 percent of China’s rare earths production capacity. A ministry statement cited the need to protect rare earths resources and the environment and to promote restructuring of the industry. The government also has limited the number of companies that are allowed to export rare earths. China’s trading partners say export quotas and taxes push up rare earths prices abroad, giving buyers in China an unfair advantage.

According to Sudarsana, most illiterate population belonged to the age group of over 45 years reaching 278,708 people. Meanwhile, the illiterate population of 15-24 years group reached 7,995 people and the 25-44 years group or productive age reached 48,505. “By degrees, local government of Bali will be trying to reduce the illiteracy rate,” he said. In fiscal year 2012, said Sudarsana, the illiteracy alleviation program was prioritized to target the productive age group (25-44 years). He said the central and Bali government allocated a large amount of budget to finance the functional literacy program. For instance, the central government allocated the budget worth IDR 2.52 billion for basic functional literacy program targeting 7,000 illiterate populations in all regencies/municipality in Bali. Each participant was allocated with a budget of IDR 360,000. “The special basic functional literacy program is specifically intended for people who are unable to read, write and count. Previously, they have

never participated in the program of illiterate population alleviation,” he said. For productive age population who had attended the basic functional literacy program, he said, would be given further program named the independent business literacy program. Other than strengthening the skills of reading, writing and counting, they were also given vocational training in order they could create a productive independent business to improve their family economy. He said the fund sourcing from the state budget worth IDR 4.14 billion targeted 9,000 people where each person was allocated with a budget of IDR 460,000. To support the program, Bali government also disbursed a budget of IDR 1 billion targeting 2,000 populations where each was allocated with a budget of IDR 500,000. “With this synergic program, we expect the program to alleviate the illiterate population in Bali can be completed as soon as possible,” he said. Exports to European Union states fell overall by 0.5 percent over June 2011 to €53.6 billion, dragged down by a 3 percent drop to the 17 countries within the EU that use the euro currency. Exports to countries outside the EU rose 19.8 percent over last June to €41.1 billion.

This cultural heritage is a significant mixture between modern and complicated metal technology and art creativity which full magical

symbolism values as can be seen from its shape and patterns. All of it is the proof of a local Balinese wisdom in its spectacular work about 2000 years ago, far before India reached Bali. The dynamism of Balinese wisdom at that time also was proved by finding five stone moulds in Manuaba Village, Gianyar for making smaller nekara from Pejeng nekara. This fact has proved enough that Balinese people had succeeded in developing local metal industry. Clay mould for making arrow head also has been found in West Java. In addition, Balinese people had produced a stone nekara which is kept in a temple in Carangsari Village (Badung), is now another success of Balinese wisdom. The other bronze nekara in Pacung, Ularan (Buleleng), Ban (Karangasem), Manikliyu (Bangli), Peguyangan (Badung) is a proof that local metal industry in Bali reached its top. According to the results of archeological research can be known that at Bronze Age, megalithic tradition was also developed around the world. The archeological experts have a notion that Bali was inhabited by megalithic society who lived

by farming, stayed in organized village, and ruled by a well-respected figure. But the move marked an escalation in the dispute and looked certain to worsen already strained relations between the European Union and the former Soviet republic. Belarus expelled Sweden’s ambassador on August 3 following the July 4 escapade in which hundreds of toy bears bearing pro-democracy messages were parachuted into the hardline former Soviet republic from a light aircraft chartered by a Swedish public relations firm. The Belarussian ambassador to Stockholm was also withdrawn. The foreign ministry said Minsk was now pulling out its remaining embassy staff because Sweden had aggravated the situation by expelling two more diplomats and had refused to allow a new Belarussian ambassador to take up his post. “In this connection, the Belarussian side has been forced to take the decision to withdraw its embassy in Sweden and bring back all its (embassy) staff to Belarus,” the statement said. The incident was a humiliation for President Alexander Lukashenko, a hardliner who has been in power in Belarus since 1994 and is on poor terms with the West because of his harsh policies towards the political opposition.

INDONESIA Flights from Timika Ewer suspended Antara

TIMIKA - Flights to the airport of Ewer in the regency of Asmat have been suspended for the past two weeks as the airport was blocked by protesting local community. The local people demanded compensation for the land used for the expansion of the airport. Head of the air transport division of the Central Papua transport service John Rettob said flights between Timika and Ewer has been closed for more than two weeks. The route has been served by Trigana Air using the Pilatus Porter aircraft twice a week, John said here Wednesday. “For two weeks Trigana Air could not fly to Ewer as the local people are still blocking the airport,” he said. The Asmat district administration plans to expand the air strip

to be able to accommodate larger aircraft. So far there have been regular flights between the Ewer airport and Merauke and Timika. Meanwhile, pioneer and regular flights between Timika and other interior areas in Papua are normal, although bad weather often caused delays,John said. “In a week around three flights are delayed on the average on bad weather,” he added. There are 17 flights a week from Timika to Papua`s interior areas not including chartered flights. Other than Trigana Air, flights to the interior areas are served by Susy Air and Jhon Lin Air.

JAKARTA - The government plans to fix mining licensing procedures and permits to avoid future problems, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said here on Tuesday. At a press conference after a cabinet meeting President Yudhoyono said in connection with that the government would give adequate more authority to provincial governors to put problematic licenses in their regions in order. “I have taken a decision several days ago. We will put them in order and I will give more authority to governors to deal with it. If they will not abide by rules will be enforced administratively if violations are linked to administration or legally if violations are linked to laws,” he said. President Yudhoyono said a lot of mining permits have been issued by district heads or city mayors which are later found to be problematic. “Frankly speaking we have

seen a lot of problems happening during the current reform era such as mining licensing by city mayors or district heads. There are a lot of problematic mining permits. The number is not in hundreds but thousands. Therefore we will put them in order as they are not good, hindering investment and everything. Sometimes permits change as district heads change. This is a time bomb,” he said. President Yudhoyono said the efforts would be taken to secure the country from negative management caused by mismanagement so that it would not happen again in the future. He said the government would encourage the development of downstream industries so that mining exports would have added value and benefit the country more. The President said the ministry of energy and mineral resources is currently renegotiating the working contracts made in the past that had caused losses to the country.

Chief minister: KPK and police leaders to meet again Antara

JAKARTA - Chief Minister for Security, Political and Legal Affairs Djoko Suyanto said leaders of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the national police would meet again to discuss the handling of an alleged corruption case in the police force. “I have met with three KPK leaders and the national police chief. What is important is they have pledged to meet. That is what we are waiting for. We do not know the results yet,” he said here on Tuesday. He said the two sides had met before but they still had differences over the issue. “They have different perceptions (over the case). The police have perception like this while KPK like that. So, I have asked them to meet again and if necessary they sign the results of their meeting to avoid different statements later,” he said. He said the President would be given the report about the development of the meeting. Djoko however added he did not know when they would meet. “I do not know when. What is

important is they have promised to meet and would report the results of the meeting to me,” he said. Djoko said all sides must focus on the case and not on procedures. “The focus is agreement to handle the corruption case. That is the most important thing. The two have agreed that there are indications of corruption. That is the important thing. I will always focus on the case and not others yet,” he said. KPK deputy chairman Bambang Widjojanto meanwhile said that the the KPK and police leaders had already met. “Some of KPK leaders communicated with police leaders last night to build coordination,” he said at KPK Building here on Tuesday. He said the meeting was held outside the KPK Building but no conclusion had been made. “I did not take part in the meeting so I did not know what had been discussed and until now coordination and communication is still being made and so no conclusion could be made yet,” he said. Regarding the investigation of DS as a suspect he said it would be done at the right time adding that investigation is now still being done

on witnesses. He said the suspect has not yet been held but in time he will be held if necessary. Regarding investigation of the suspects held by the police Bambang said the problem was still being communicated with the police. “In short, we are still concentrating on investigating witnesses. The evidence will only be used to confirm the results of investigation,” he said. Last July 27, KPK issued a decision to start investigation with Inspector General DS (Djoko Susilo), the former chief of the National Traffic Police Corps and now governor of the Police Academy, and BS, SB and DP as suspects in connection with an alleged corruption case linked to the procurement of driving simulators at the Traffic Police Corps. On August 1 the National Police Crime Investigation Agency however also named five suspects in the case including DP, BS, SB and TR putting the case handling under dispute. KPK has said that it has investigated the alleged corruption case involving Rp198.7 billion funds since January 2012.

Mathieu Flamini: AC Milan will always be a huge club Since 2000, in many ways, AC Milan has been the trendsetter at the top of Italian club soccer. In the past decade, the San Siro club’s transfer policy has influenced the way other clubs in the country operates. When Milan decides to import Brazilians to lead the team, other Italian clubs scour all of South America looking for their versions of Thiago Silva or Alexandre Pato. Now, with the recent sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reportedly worth around 62 million euros, many claim that Milan and Serie A’s decline has manifested, that neither can attract the top stars that it did in the 1990s. Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini disagrees with that point and argues that Milan will continue to be a top power.

The U.S. captain won the title on floor exercise Tuesday, about an hour after getting a bronze on balance beam. Add in her gold with the Fierce Five, and she leaves London with three medals, most of any of the Americans. US men ‘ready’ for Olympic hoop quarterfinals Associated Press Writer

LONDON — Three games from gold, the U.S. men’s Olympic basketball team believes its best is still to come. First up is Australia in the quarterfinal round, though Wednesday’s game, and each one after that, may as well go by another name to the Americans. “Game 7,” forward Kevin Durant said. “Every game is Game 7. Most of the guys here been in those situations.” The Americans have two choices: Win, and move closer to the title, or lose and go home in disgrace. “We’re focused on this,” coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “We’re ready. Let’s go.” The U.S. was 5-0 in pool play, perfect in the standings if not quite on the court. The defense hardly seems at a championship level, though that never mattered because the Americans could outgun all of their opponents. But there are no Nigerias in the single-elimination round, so maybe there will come a night where they can’t win with offense alone. “I think we can outscore teams, but you’re going to have a game where your shots aren’t falling and you need to get stops,” swingman Andre Iguodala said, “and that’s the scary part of our team. It’s that we can still get better. We want to get better. We want to really dominate. It’s really just communicating and

Again, you all can do whatever you want with the dominance thing, but it ain’t happening. It’s just not happening and we know that. So if you’re looking at a game for us to dominate every minute of the game, it will not happen. They’re too good. People are too good and so if you can win minutes, segments, then that adds up to a win, which is what we want to do.” The U.S. faced only one close game in preliminary-round play but showed an alarming lack of commitment to defense in the last two victories for a team that has always insisted that defense is its strength. Or maybe it’s no concern at all, not when a team can score the way these Americans can. Kobe Bryant sure isn’t worried. “No, because in literally one minute we can go on like a 10-0 run,” he said. “So I’m not concerned right now.”

LONDON — China wants to get back on track. Paola Espinosa Sanchez wants to pick up right where Ilya Zakharov left off. The women’s 10meter platform event at the London Olympics begins with the preliminary round on Wednesday, one day after Zakharov stopped China’s quest for a sweep of diving gold with a strong performance in the men’s 3-meter springboard. Now Mexico’s Sanchez is hoping to build on her podium finish in 10meter synchro last week, but the platform is still China’s event to lose. Chen Ruolin already paired with Wang Hao to win the 10-meter synchro event and also won both titles before her home fans at the 2008 Beijing Games as a 15-year-old. She then swept both events at last year’s world championships in Shanghai, too. On her 26th birthday, Espinosa Sanchez took silver with Alejandra Orozco in 10-meter synchro last week. But if the crowd inside the Olympic Aquatics Centre is anything like it was for Zakharov’s victory Tuesday, anything could happen. Fans cheered loudly when Zakharov

nailed his final dive. The Russian pumped his left arm as he swam toward the edge of the pool. With the top two separated by a mere 1.25 points, the gold medal all came down to the final round. Diving one spot ahead of Zakharov with the lead, China’s Qin Kai scored 89.10 points for a reverse 2½ somersault with 1½ twists pike. Zakharov hit a much tougher dive, a forward 4½ somersault tuck, for 104.50 points, and snapped China’s streak of five straight diving golds at these games. In 2008, China had won seven straight golds until Matthew Mitcham of Australia broke that streak in the very last diving event of the games, the men’s 10-meter platform. “I’m so pleased that I have managed to take away at least one medal from China,” Zakharov said through a translator. “After the last dive when I came up to the surface and I heard the noise that’s when the happiness swept over me.” He totaled 555.90 points in the six-round final for Russia’s first diving gold since 2000, when Dmitri Sautin and Igor Lukashin won the men’s 10-meter synchro in Sydney.
