Dovizioso: Great feeling with ‘beautiful’ Yamaha
Andrea Dovizioso left Wednesday’s Aragon test ‘very happy’ after completing a memorable week in his young Yamaha career. The Italian became the first satellite rider to claim a podium in the new 1000cc era with third place in Sunday’s Catalunya round, a result that also moved him to fourth and top satellite rider in the world championship. Dovizioso then led Monday’s post-race test at the same circuit and, while he claimed a less spectacular fourth in Wednesday’s Aragon outing, he was able to work further on perfecting his rid-
ing style for the M1 and confirm the strength of a new electronics package. “Today’s test completed a very positive week for me and I go home quite tired after so much time on track but also very happy,” said Dovi. “After the strong race and test at Catalunya it was important to understand our level here in Aragon. “This has not been a strong track for me in the past but I was very fast and consistent and now I have a great feeling with the Yamaha and it is beautiful to ride this bike. “The strong points of the Ya-
maha like braking and corner entry is what you need at this track, so when we come back for the race later in the season I am sure I will be very competitive. “We were able to confirm the improvement from the electronics here and I am looking forward to using them next week in Silverstone. The upgrade gives me better control on old tyres and also the endurance of the tyre is longer, so this will be a good advantage over a race distance.” Dovizioso’s best lap was 0.7sec from factory Yamaha rider and world championship Jorge Lorenzo.

Alonso goes into the event sitting three points clear at the head of the championship standings despite Ferrari being on the back foot with the new F2012 since the start of pre-season testing. Victory in the wet Malaysian Grand Prix has been key to Alonso’s challenge, and with the team working to improve traction and top speed with the car, the double champion said he was looking forward to seeing if the car could again display front-running speed at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. “I think we have improved the car in
these areas since the beginning of the season and Canada will be a good test in this respect,” he said. “Hopefully this weekend we will see a competitive Ferrari and that will be very important for us, not just for this race but also for the rest of the season. “I don’t see any reason why Ferrari should not be competitive in Canada, fighting for the top places come the end of the race. Winning races is not easy, neither is finishing on the podium, but the important thing is to score points and

Coral reef ecosystem is now at risk Bali Post
Alonso hopes for competitive display
Fernando Alonso says he is hopeful that Ferrari will be able to challenge towards the front in Canada this weekend, with the Spaniard insisting that the latest round of the F1 season will give the team an idea of whether it will be able to challenge at the front through the remainder of the campaign.

DENPASAR - Coral reef ecosystem in Indonesia, especially in Bali, is threatened by the uncontrolled development in the coastal territories whereas they are the center of biodiversity denoting the right place for various types of fish species to spawn and pass. Damage to coral reef becomes a threat to the lives of more than 120 million people living in coastal territories that rely on their
life to the availability of marine resources. To that end, the WWF initiates an event named Coral Triangle Beach Festival to save the
marine natural resources. “This event is meant in order the world community can see the ocean as a source of human life. Likewise, this event will be held simultaneously in six countries in the world, namely Malaysia, the Philippines, Timor Leste, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and Indonesia represented by Bali with the appointment of Kedonganan as the center of
the event,” said Chairman of the Event Committee, Wayan Yustisia Semarariana, in Denpasar. According to him, the destruction of coral reef ecosystems was also caused by the development of non-eco-friendly marine tourism and climate change. If such condition was not immediately addressed it was ascertained to lead to the collapse of coral reef ecosystems.

find a good level of consistency.” Although currently top of the standings, Alonso said that plenty of hard work still lies ahead for Ferrari if he is to secure his third championship title with further improvement required if he is to remain out front. “Leading the championship is only the beginning, it’s a starting point, because the ultimate target is leading the championship after the final race in Brazil in November,” he said. “It’s a long championship and the first six races brought us enough points to be in the lead, but we are well aware that we have to improve. “We need to make the car faster, working hard, while making no mistakes and finding consistency, which is not the easiest thing to do in this championship.”

Warsaw stadium adds new threat to historic area Associated Press Writer
WARSAW, Poland — The National Stadium in Poland, built for the 2012 European Championship, rises in the shape of a wicker basket over one of Warsaw’s most popular neighborhoods: Saska Kepa, an enclave of towering trees and architectural gems dating back to the 1920s. To some, the colossal stadium
— with a retractable fiberglass roof and a shimmery red-and-white facade in the colors of the national flag — is a source of pride, a symbol of a capitalist surge that has remade the country since it threw off communism in 1989. To others, the 58,000-seat arena is an eyesore and the latest affront to a unique neighborhood already threatened by a rising class of entrepreneurs and developers. Proof,
if any more was needed, of how breakneck economic growth can jeopardize a vulnerable architectural heritage. “It’s like a big giant UFO that landed nearby,” complains Marcin Eckert, a 40-year-old tax lawyer whose view at breakfast is now dominated by the stadium. Says his wife, Dorota JurkiewiczEckert: “We feel we have been squashed by an elephant.”
Any change to historic areas in Warsaw provokes strong emotions because of how little survived World War II. Saska Kepa, an exclusive area before the war that was home to doctors and lawyers and other upper middle-class professionals, has the unique distinction of being the city’s only prestigious neighborhood to survive in its entirety.
